Meisya continued to walk alone along the busy roadside, with vehicles passing by. She walked as if following the rhythm of her steps, without any intention of getting on any vehicle. Although the capital city was currently covered with cloudy weather.
The woman was imagining her shattered future. She couldn't possibly tell her brother-in-law and sister about this pregnancy, because it was impossible for them to marry her to the baby's father, especially since she and Ello had ended their relationship. "No, I won't!" Meisya snapped out of her thoughts and shook her head vigorously.
"I'll take you! It's about to rain!" Ello suddenly appeared beside Meisya with his motorcycle.
The woman turned and cast a hateful gaze at Ello. "No need, thanks!" Meisya refused. She didn't want to deal with Ello anymore, now that he was her ex.
Ello sighed and followed Meisya as she continued to walk. "Even though we broke up, I'm still your friend from high school, Sya. I can't just let you walk alone like this!"
"Don't care about me, Ello! Pretend we don't know each other anymore!" Meisya replied without looking at Ello's face.
"You're really selfish and narrow-minded, Sya. My intentions are good! Hurry up and get on, or I'll carry you on my motorbike!" Ello ordered forcefully.
The argument between Ello and Meisya continued, until a message from her brother-in-law to come home immediately made Meisya reluctantly give in and let Ello give her a ride.
During the journey home, they remained silent, with Meisya intentionally keeping a distance between her and Ello. She could only gaze at Ello's back as he drove at a high speed to get home before it started raining.
Looking at Ello's figure, Meisya slowly caressed her stomach and said inwardly, "He's your father, my dear. But forgive Mama, maybe when you're born, you will never know him as your father!"
Ello dropped Meisya off in front of Rendy's house, Meisya's brother-in-law. After getting off the motorcycle, she only said thank you and quickly turned around to enter the gate.
"Sya," Ello called out when Meisya had touched her gate. "I'll be leaving soon. Can you take me to the airport?" he asked hopefully.
Meisya closed her eyes and turned to face Ello, who was still on his motorcycle. She observed the handsome man's face who had taken her innocence. This would be their last meeting, so Meisya wanted to imprint the face of her child's father in her memory before they parted ways.
"I can't, sorry," Meisya answered before turning around again and opening the gate.
"Meisya, I don't know what our future holds. But allow me to find and meet you after I return from London," Ello said with a sorrowful expression. He didn't want to end this relationship, but unfortunately, his selfishness made it impossible for Ello to hold on.
Meisya didn't care about the words that came out of her ex-boyfriend's mouth. To her, there was nothing trustworthy about that young man since that night.
Rendy, Meisya's brother-in-law, looked so happy right now. He accidentally found a pregnancy test kit that had fallen near his house's entrance. He thought it belonged to his beloved wife.
"Darling, where are you?" Rendy called out to his wife.
The slim and beautiful woman appeared, still wearing an apron. She approached her husband with a sweet smile that made Rendy fall even more in love.
"I'm here, Darling. Surprised to see me home already?" she greeted her husband while caressing his hand.
"Why? Don't tell me you haven't finished preparing a surprise for me yet?" Rendy replied, gently lifting his wife's chin.
The woman furrowed her brows. She didn't remember if today was a special day, so she had to prepare a surprise for her husband. "What surprise?"
Rendy showed Meisya the pregnancy test he found near the door. "This is yours, right, Honey? Are you pregnant with our first child? I am so happy, my love!" Rendy hugged her tightly and showered her with kisses on the cheek.
"Wait, Honey. That's not mine, and moreover, I am currently having my period!" she countered, confusing Rendy.
"No way, this must be yours. If not, why would it be near our house's door? Did we have any guests who brought this along?" Rendy asked, still convinced that the test belonged to his wife.
At the same time, Meisya arrived home after meeting Ello. She walked wearily and didn't notice her brother-in-law in front of her.
"Sya, is this yours?" Meisya's sister-in-law asked with a flat expression after snatching the pregnancy test from her husband's hand.
Rendy's gaze also shifted. He looked at Meisya, who now had wide eyes and a visibly frightened expression.
"Why does my sister and her husband have that test in their hands?" Meisya thought with her heart pounding heavily.
