CHAPTER 04

Along the express way. Rivka noticed that someone seemed to be tailing their car. She drove carefully and sped up. Thinking that the car was no longer following them made it feel a little relieved. She reached for her cell phone to call Lucian, but the car she was driving suddenly sped up.

“Mom, why?"

It looked at the surprised child. "No baby. Are you hungry?" she answered instead. It didn't show the trembling that suddenly rose in her core.

No mom," Luciana answered.

“Speed up the operation. Their car can't go far, but we'll lose control of the remote." A man moaned as he faced the monitor and seemed to be in control.

“Yes, I'm going to speed up," he said, also irritated.

Rivka's driver was about to stop, but she noticed that her break wouldn't work. Her car sped up even more as if someone was controlling it. Even if it doesn't make it go faster, it going to go faster. She feels a strange fear and apprehension for her daughter who now only looks at her. Wondering why the mother was acting so strange.

Mommy!" Luciana shouted as they almost hit a car ahead. Fortunately, she quickly turned it into the other lane.

“What happened, why isn't my brake working?" Rivka said.

“Mama's just here, baby. Mama loves you so much, okay?"

"I love you too, Papa, Mama."

Don't be afraid baby, what do mommy and daddy say when you're scared?"

I'm going to sing my favorite song, mom."Very good," Rivka was crying while saying that word to her daughter.

It's sweat brought on by the fear it feels now. She looked in the rearview mirror and saw the car still tailing them. It made driving even faster. And when they were close to the crossing intersection, the person following them stopped them and even the remote control used in her car suddenly disappeared. Rivka took a deep breath then looked again at her daughter who was still singing.

But, fate is really playful. Where she felt they were safe, a truck containing a container van was speeding by. From the right side of the intersection, Rivka quickly hugged her daughter tightly. At the same time, they were plowed by a truck containing a container van.

“Lucian------”

“Mama Papa!" Luciana screamed.

A loud screeching sound could be heard.

And there, the collision happened. The car carrying Rivka overturned and Luciana was thrown in front of the car, bloodied and unconscious.

“L-Lucia..that..." Rivka's voice was weak and she stretched her hands to reach the child who had jumped. Her tears fell before she lost consciousness.

AT LR-KITCHEN, Lucian is in the middle of a meeting. He doesn't know but he rarely gets nervous every time there is a meeting. He thought that maybe it was just nervousness for the branch he and Rivka wanted to build. He also needs to close the deal with the new client so that their marriage plan can go ahead.

“Ring-----,Ring ----”!

Suddenly his cellphone rang .

Even in the meeting, he still looked at it and saw that it was Rivka calling. He excused himself because he doesn't want his wife to wait for long. Everytime Rivka and Luciana are involved, he always has a free time. That's how important they are to him.

“Yes, Dear? I'm still in a meeting—"

Hello sir, I am a nurse at San Agustin Public Hospital. You are the number 1 contact person on the patient's list, do you know Mrs. Rivka Wright and Luciana Wright?"

“P-patient?"

Yes sir, they rushed here to San Agustin Public Hospital. It was a car accident."

W-what? N-no, that's not true," Lucian said in disbelief. He couldn't open his mouth again because of his shock. His body that seemed to be paralyzed completely lost its balance and fell from where he was standing.

”Hello sir? Sir, can you hear me?" Lucian heard the nurse call him from the other line.

Sir Lucian? Are you okay sir?"

He turned to the man who was calling him. he seems to have lost his energy. It was strange to joke, because he was drumming his chest.

Brix, will you take care of this first. I need to go to San Agustin Hospital first, my daughter and wife got into an accident. They need me."

Brix is Lucian's right hand, everything that needs to be done in the LR-Kitchen it already knows how to do. He is also the trusted one of the couple since then. And now his boss needs his services again.

"Stay here, Brix."

"I'll bring you, sir," he offered.

Lucian didn't object anymore. He knew he didn't have the strength to drive the car because he was still weak.

"Rivka, Luciana, I'm on my way. I'm on my way to you."

WHEN arriving at the hospital, Lucian immediately looked for his wife and daughter .He feels a strange fear and apprehension. The feeling that it thought it never felt again. The last time he felt like this was when his father disappeared without him doing anything.

His legs were shaking as he approached the nurse's station and asked a question.

Where are my wife and child? t-take me to my wife and child."

“What is the patient's name, sir?"asked the nurse.

“Rivka Wright and Luciana Wright."

The nurse stared at him and froze for a moment. Instead of answering, the woman walked and spelled the long hallway. Lucian noticed that he was not taken to the ICU or emergency department, so he asked.

“Nurse, I said take me to my wife and son. I didn't say take me here to the morgue!"

Sir Lucian, please calm down, sir," said Brix, who was still following him.

“I can't calm down, Brix. They need me," he said angrily to Brix.

Sir, I'm sorry. But Mrs. Wright and Luciana Wright were dead on arrival when they were brought here. My condolences, Mr. Wright."

You're kidding me, right?"The nurse just shook her head in response.

Lucian was stunned by what he heard and his body completely gave out. he cried loudly especially when the woman opened the white cloth covering the dead body of her mother and daughter.
