The Mafia Don's Runaway Wife
Chapter 3 - His Moment
Ian Summers
Sir, this is a big misunderstanding...
Ian Summers
She's probably just sneaked out for the night. You know kids these days...
The man sat in the main armchair of the lounge, his eyes appearing red from the flickers of the flame from the lit fireplace.
Romeo Mancini
A young woman doesn't make two armed men unconscious just because she wants to leave to party.
Ian Summers
Sir, I promise, I have nothing to do with it all.
Ian Summers
I was going to hand her over to you, I had no idea that you were coming to get her-
The man leaned in, his fingers weaved together in an arch.
Romeo Mancini
I don't doubt that you weren't responsible for this.
Romeo Mancini
But she's my responsibility now.
Romeo Mancini
Until she has been found, your payment will be halted.
Ian Summers
B-But I have to pay the investors by Monday...
The man got up from the chair, his eyes looking like something straight out of Dante's "Inferno".
Romeo Mancini
Then, you'd better start praying that she's found by then.
With that message, Romeo Mancini walked out of the Summers estate and right into his car.
The two men who had been unconscious only an hour previous were in the front of the car, one more able to drive than the other.
As the man slid into the car, he closed his eyes before looking into the mirror.
Romeo Mancini
And call Dominic. I want her in my bed by tonight.
The two men nodded, and the car drove off into the brisk Friday evening.
Finally, I had managed to slip myself into a gorgeous red backless dress.
Thanks to my bandages, I had to dispense with the matching high heels, so I settled for Kai's slippers instead.
A little more forgiving on my sore feet.
While Kai was away at a meeting, probably with a liquor company seeking to get their product served in our bar, I sat down on the bench next to the barrier and gazed down at the party girls and guys.
They seemed to happy, so carefree...
If I could waste an evening getting drunk at a bar, I'd probably feel the same way.
Who was that man at my house? And why did his henchmen carry so much firepower?
I'm just a girl, regardless of my agility and ability to finish a fight quick and easy.
I walked over towards the table, picking up both of the handguns.
They still had their serial numbers on them... so whoever owns them either works for law enforcement (unlikely guess), or has a very dangerous pass-time.
Aria Summers
Who have you gotten yourself mixed up with this time, dear old Daddy?
Misty Plume
