Chapter 3 The Book

...Argentina two weeks ago...

"Many years ago our village was chosen by a person that has no face to keep a treasure hidden in our territory, we called it H" An elder of a viliage deep in forests of Argentina told Mary Ausburn

"Why did you call it H?" Mary asked with curiosity

"My father never gave it a name so as we are in the twenty-first century our village named it H cause it protected and provided for our villiage"

"Why? There are many villiages around here, why yours?"

"My father never told me the reason why but your father did come to this villiage"

"Really, he did when? "

"When my father was chosen to keep the hidden treasure he was sworn to secrecy and he was never suppose to talk about the hidden treasure cause H warned him that He would be killed if he told anyone but your father persuaded him with money and any man can be blinded by riches. So my father told yours then he ended up dying blinded by his greed"

"He and my father we're both killed by H" Mary couldn't hold her anger knowing her Father, a man she had been searching for the last 10 years had been killed by a person whom this village thinks protects them.

"Tell me where is the treasure!" Mary held a gun at his head threatening him

"I fear no death but killing me will not give you the answer and if you do H will avenge me"

"Whether H is real or not, my father's death is now my only concern" Mary knew she can't kill him it was her only chance to find the treasure her father was looking for-----

"I can only tell you this, even if you find the treasure you will die by H or the jungle will kill you! "

"You talk very much of this H and since I can't kill you,I will kill your Family!" Mary had a gun pointed at a woman holding a baby, the elder looked at his baby and wife he knew his life was less valued if he had no kids to carry on his secret

"Please, I beg you leave my family out of this!" he asked her

"Unless you give me what I want I will leave them alone but if I don't I will kill your family" The elder had no choice

"Fine, I will tell you but remember I warned you!" the man walked over to his wife and kissed her on the head. The woman started crying knowing his choice

"Don't forget to tell him his legacy" he said to her, he then kissed the baby on the head and whispered "I love you".

...Present day in NewYork...

Troy and Cal walked in the pawn shop called the Minuet, the bell dinged as they entered and the man at the desk stood up straightly to welcome his costumers.

"Well, well isn't my usual costumers Troy and Cal, what do you have for me today?" he said as they walked to the front desk

"These" Troy said as they put their stuff on the desk the man went through it to see if they can get a good price.

"I'll give you 200k for this stuff"

"200k! This stuff is our most precious it cost more than 200k"

"Look, I said 200k take it or leave it"

"Please sir we need more money" Cal said as he gave him his puppy eyes, the man couldn't take it anymore

"Fine, I will give 100k and on top of that a book for free"

"Thank you so much but why a book?"

"It came today instead of the package I orded Iliked the cover and thought I could sell it but there was nothing inside of it so I didn't want!" The man said going in the back of the store then coming out with the money and the book he was talking about he then gave the money to Troy and the book to Cal.

"Wow!" Cal said as he looked at the beautiful green cover

"What does the 'G' stand for? "

"I have no idea cause the book is empty"

"What!"Cal said in the disappointment

"It's OK now you have a journal" Troy said comforting Cal as they walked out of the Minuet.

...Back at the Hospital...

"Thank you have a great day" The nurse at the front day said to Mary as she left the hospital even though Agent Zair made it clear to her not to leave the hospital but Mary doesn't listen to anyone. She started was going to the front door but someone was already waiting for her.

"Going somewhere?" Agent Knight said as she passed him going down the stairs, she turned her head to him

"So I am caught, I bet your going to the make me go back cause your partner told me not to leave. Am I right ?" Agent Knight looked at her

"Follow me!" Mary was curious to see where this joke was going so she followed him to the parking lot where he got into a black car.

"Don't stand there get in!" Mary got in the car and the engine started, they backed out the parking lot and headed to the main road.

"Where are you taking me?" Mary asked

"The videos I moved from your hidden camera I watched and let's just say I saw something confusing"

"What did you see?"

"You said the village in Argentina told you that anyone who goes after the book will die or be killed, right?"

"Right"

"The book what happen to it?" Mary looked through her memories

"I made a decoy just in case and send it to my mom here in the city"

"So it has a decoy?"

"It's name is H and yes it's a decoy"

"It's name is H, how do you know?"

"That's what the elder told me but the real book got swapped by another package that went to a Pawn shop called the Minuet" The car stopped at a house and then backed it in the garage. He steped out the car and closed the door to the garage. Mary watched as he went to back and bended down to have his eye scanned by a scanner then a door appeared behind the car.

"Come on" Mary knew this man was not patient, they walked a steel hallway for a while the turned to a room where there where Computers running and all kind of technology. She saw a lot of guns in on section then different kind of Armour and clothes, she was fascinated with all this stuff know she knew they weren't lying when they said there where Agents from a secret Agency.

"Agent Knight, glad that you're back-----" Agent Zair looked at Knight and right behind was Mary this time Agent Zair had enough

"Agent Zair a word" Agent Knight said as he moved to another room and Zair followed him. They closed the door behind them and Mary sat down

"What the hell were you thinking bringing her here, have you ever heard of rules and why this is a safe house?!"

"Zair calm down!,I brought here cause she has answers"

"Answers to what exactly?!"

"To our criminal and to our artifact, she's a archeologist for cryin out loud!"

"Fine what did find out?"

"A name, H"

"H?,that's what the villiage calls it but I have a feeling there is more to this case than this artifact"

...Main Street...

Troy and Cal were on their back to the shed walking through main street

"I wish this was a book, I am kinda sad it's empty" Cal said flipping through the pages, Troy looked

"What do you mean it's empty there a words in this book!" Cal looked at the pages again then looked at Troy confused

"Look here!" Cal pointed at what seemed to be blank to him but Troy could see writtings

"What do you mean it's Blank, it says right here ---------------"Troy felt a strange pain through his arm it was so painful that he screamed out in pain the fainted

"Troy! Troy! wake up!!"Cal said in worry
