CHAPTER 04
Gun was silent as the car drove in a steady pace towards his hometown, a place he hasn't seen in years. Manager Park was sitting at the front next to the driver, on the passenger seat. Gun was at the back, still sulking but accepting of the situation, dressed in a simple t-shirt and shorts. He didn't want to attract any attention, so he dressed in simple clothes.
Music played in the background until Manager Park spoke.
Manager Park
We're almost there, excited?
Gun
As I excited as I can be…
The pout never leaving Gun's lips, he had to make sure to let everyone know that he wasn't happy with this situation.
About half an hour later, Gun started seeing familiar areas. Everything seemingly somewhat changed and yet remained the same. He felt in awe, somewhat joyful and yet fearful. Scared to face things he ran away from, but it's been so long..
Gun
It shouldn't matter anymore..
Gun whispered to himself, saying words nobody is supposed to hear.
The car then stopped infront of an old house, a house Gun knew too well.
He sighed seeing the house, his parents didn't renovate the house at all since he left.
Manager Park
Have you told them that you're coming?
Gun
No...what was I supposed to say after all these years of not coming back?
Gun
I'm sure they saw the news..
Gun
I haven't entered this house in years, so many memories are flooding back. Especially because unlike everybody else, our house didn't change at all..
Gun
They should have renovated the house, I've send them money
Manager Park
They might have a reason.
Manager Park and the driver helped Gun with the luggage before she stood infront of Gun.
Manager Park
Remember to call me if you need anything. I'll be making sure to fix the problem that is causing all this as quickly as possible. We'll also find the sources that spread the rumors. Don't worry too much, okay?
They hugged before she entered the car, leaving Gun behind infront of the house. He couldn't get himself to ring the doorbell.
Kneeling on the ground while pouting, the door infront of him suddenly opened. There she was. His mother.
Gun fell to the ground, surprised to see the door open all out of the sudden.
Pine (Gun's Mother)
G-Gun!?
She quickly helped him and hugged him tightly, embracing her one and only son. She had missed him alot, phonecalls and FaceTime wasn't enough.
Pine (Gun's Mother)
I missed you, son!
She was getting teary but stopped herself and wiped her tears away quickly.
Pine (Gun's Mother)
Let me help you
She helped him with his luggage and rushed inside, making sure to push him towards the living room while doing so. He on the other hand looked around alot, noticing pictures and details he hadn't seen in years.
Pine (Gun's Mother)
He's still at work, he'll be home soon.
Gun gave his mother a small nod and sat down on the couch. He felt awkward for some reason, the last time he was here...it was when he planned to run away. His parents always told him to return in the beginning, once he became famous that stopped. They then invited him over, but he never came, due to his complicated feelings.
Pine (Gun's Mother)
I was gonna go outside quickly, do you mind, Gun? I'll be quick.
Gun
Oh no, please don't mind me. You can go, mom. I'll be here.
Pine (Gun's Mother)
I have spare keys next to the door, if you want to go outside.
He would never go, there was no way for him to leave and risk being seen by the people of his past. He's gonna be inside the house until Manager Park calls him to return.
And with that, Gun was alone in the house.
