"Guys, it's already been a while. Let's go back before sister Ashley scold us." said Myra as she walked towards the door. She was holding the doorknob. Ready to unlock. But, before she could even turn the knob, the door received a pounding knock from the outside. Myra, who was surprised, immediately took a step back without realizing it.
"Open the door!!!"
Even after hearing those words, Myra still doesn't move. A feeling of doubt ticked in her heart.
Seeing Myra just stiff in her place, Fiyya quickly stepped forward to open the door. But before she could even open it, Myra grabbed Fiyya's hand first to stop her.
Fiyya felt strange with Myra's actions and looked up at Myra. Myra just shakes her head repeatedly. There was a worried expression on her face. Fiyya raised her eyebrows as asking 'what wrong?'
"I have a bad feeling." Myra expressed her doubts.
The door received a loud knock once more. But this time it was stronger than before. Fiyya immediately released her hand from holding the door knob.
"Just open it. She can't hold it anymore." said Ana with a little laugh.
"What are you afraid of? Just open it." said Ana as she held the doorknob and opened it. A few seconds later she closed it again.
"Why did you close the back door? You wanted to open it so badly before. Did you want to sleep in here?" said Nura in a sarcastic tone.
"Yeah. I was surprised you know!?" said Fiyya while trying to calm her heart beating. No wonder she was surprised, Ana slamming the door right next to her ear.
"What's going on outside that make you close the door back again?" Nura asked again.
"It's nothing. I just want to play with the door." replied Ana while knocking on the bathroom door.
"Look like, someone will sleep in the bathroom tonight." Myra said furiously.
"Uhh... fine. Look at this." Ana opened the door. She pointed to some red spots in front of the toilet door.
"What's this? Who spilled syrup near the toilet?" Nura ask.
"Does the dining hall make syrup for supper?" asked Fiyya while raising one eyebrow.
"There's never been a syrup in the menu." said Ana.
"Maybe this is paint?" Myra made an assumption.
"Erghh... the smells" Fiyya covered her nose. She smelled something...strange.
"Strange. It smells like..." Nura's words stopped before Ana continued.
"Blood. Try to look around, maybe there was a ghost, or... maybe there are Mr.Vampire! Tell me if you found him so I can take a selfie with him." Ana replied while looking around as if looking for something.
"Don't say that. I can't sleep tonight!" Fiyya was starting to feel the chill down her spine Things like this shouldn't be played around.
"Come on, you're being silly. Let's go now." Myra walked out carefully so that her shoes did not touch the mysterious red spot. Her steps were then followed by Fiyya, Ana and Nura.
. . .
"Shouldn't we go to the dining hall before returning to the dormitory?" Nura's voice broke the silence.
"Why? Are you hungry?" Myra questioned.
"That's not it. I just want to make sure there's syrup in the menu tonight.." replied Nura with a grin.
"But I hope it's actually the syrup in the menu for supper today." Fiyya said with a small smile.
"You want it?" asked Ana while raising her eyebrows several times.
"I don't want to. I'm don't really like to drink something sweet at night. It's like what Nura said earlier, just to make sure of it ." replied Fiyya casually.
"If you want to go there just to make sure of that, don't bother." Ana said in a sarcastic tone.
Suddenly Myra who was walking in the front suddenly stopped.
"Why did you stop?" Fiyya's question in worried. Seeing Myra just remain silent without reply made Fiyya even more worried.
"Myra, why did you-"
"Shhh...." Myra put her index finger on her lips as a sign of silence.
Ana looked at Nura next to her and raised one eyebrow to ask 'what happened?'. Nura just shrugged her shoulders as a sign of not knowing.
Fiyya gently patted Myra's shoulder. Myra turned her gaze towards Fiyya.
"Why?" Fiyya asked silently. Just mouth movement.
"I see..."
Fiyya, Ana and Nura remained silent listening to Myra's words.
"…a person." said Myra slowly. Hearing Myra's words, Fiyya and Nura could only frown, while Ana was already gaping in disbelief.
"Huh, indeed. Indeed, this school is reserved for bears not for human." said Ana furiously. Fiyya and Nura just giggled at those words.
"I doesn't mean it like that! What I was trying to say is... that person look strange."
"What's so strange?" Fiyya asked while frowning.
"The way he walks is strange." said Myra suspiciously.
"Myra, you-" Before Fiyya could finish her words, her hand was pulled away by Myra.
"Run!" Myra shouted as she ran fast. Her hand was still holding Fiyya's wrist. A dazed Fiyya just follows in Myra's footsteps.
Ana and Nura looked at each other before following Myra and Fiyya's footsteps.
"Wh...why are we back?!" Fiyya asked a little loudly. His feet were still running in step with Myra. Fiyya's question was left unanswered.
Finally they reached the bathroom again. Myra closed the bathroom door quite hard.
"Why did we run away earlier?" Nura asked with a panting breath from running earlier.
"Wait....relax first. Take some oxygen." said Myra, trying to catch her breath.
"The oxygen in this toilet is really fresh, isn't it?" Fiyya said while emphasizing the word toilet. Myra just gave a sharp look to Fiyya.
"Hurry up, tell me what happened?" Ana asked curiously.
"I saw something." said Myra with a slightly angry tone.
"What do you see?" Nura asked.
"I just saw-"
"Ghost?!" Ana interrupted Myra's words with a slightly excited tone.
"Let Myra finish talking first." Fiyya and Nura said simultaneously.
"Or.. Did you see Mr.Vampire? Is he handsome? Haih.. I didn't have time to take a selfie-" Ana said before her words were cut off by Myra.
"I saw a ZOMBIE earlier!!" said Myra a little loudly while slamming her hand to the toilet sink.
Ana, Fiyya and Nura were surprised by Myra's words. They then displayed a disbelief expression.
"If you want to make a joke... don't do it." Nura said while shaking her head slowly.
"That's the point...it's not funny." said Fiyya.
"Which era are you from.. talking about zombies?" asked Ana while holding back her laughter.
"It's true! Did you thing I was joking?!" Myra said impatiently.
"I think you saw it wrong." said Nura.
"Eeii... I saw it with my own eyes!" said Myra angrily.
"Come on, Myra. You're being silly." said Ana again.
"You can't believe it?! Here, I show you!" Ana almost fell due to Myra suddenly pulling her hand. Myra opened the door and stepped out of the bathroom followed by Ana. Fiyya and Nura just looked outside the toilet to see Myra and Ana who had already left the bathroom area.
"Should we... go along?" asked Nura as she scratched her head which was not itchy. Fiyya just nodded and stepped out carefully.
Myra pulled Ana to the location that she saw the zombie before. Then she push Ana that make her nearly fell.
Ana was stunned for a moment where she stood. Then she turned her head to the right. A zombie appeared to be standing next to her.
"Err...hi!" Ana gave a small wave. The zombie turned towards her. Ana examined the zombie's face. The zombie was a teenage girl. Her face was filled with a thick red liquid. Not only on her face, but on her shirt and trousers also dirty with the thick red liquid.
"Hmm.. is there a Halloween celebration at our school today?" Ana made a question. Who knew they were having a Halloween celebration, she could also join in too.
"Since when did our school has ever celebrated Halloween" said Fiyya while frowning. Nura just nodded repeatedly. Their faces have become pale.
"Then.. what is she?" Ana asked trembling. Fiyya and Nura already gone.
"You think?" Myra asked with a pretended brave tone even though in her heart she felt like want to running away from there. If a sprint competition is being held now, confirm number one place in her hands. Furthermore, when she looked back, she saw Fiyya and Nura running back towards the toilet leaving her and Ana behind.
"Ohh...so it's true that Myra saw a zombie before?" Ana asked the zombie. However, there was no answer from it and instead the zombie began to move closer to Ana.
"Eh.. I know I'm beautiful but don't bother getting close!" Ana said nervously as she started to run after Myra who was already far behind her. They ran until they reached the toilet.
"Hah! Now did you guys believe it?!" Myra stepped in as soon as Ana entered the toilet.
"Yes, yes, I believe now. So what do we do now?" Ana said as her breathing started to return to normal.
"How can we have zombies in our school?!" Fiyya asked a little loudly.
"Where did these zombies come from?" asked Nura trembling. She noticed that when she and Fiyya were running towards the bathroom a moment ago, they saw a lot of zombies roaming around the school grounds.
"What are we supposed to do now?!" Fiyya said in fear.
"Fiyya, calm down. Don't panic! You're too quick to panic! If you're panicking right now, you can't think of anything," said Myra while holding both of her friend's shoulders.
"Calm down? You're telling me to calm down now?! Myra, do you realize that? We just saw zombies outside! You know, Nura and I have seen how these school students are being attacked! They're all infected!!" said Fiyya a little harshly. Trying to hold back the tears. She was terrified now. Myra was surprised and then turned her gaze towards Nura.
"Is that true, Nura?" Nura nodded affirmatively.
"We have seen it. They are scary and violent.. Even sister Ashley got.." said Nura slowly.
"We're done! I don't want to die early. I still haven't found the man of my dreams!" Ana said worriedly.
"That's what you're worried about?" said Nura with a disbelief expression.
"I don't feel want to cry anymore after you say that." said Fiyya while laughing a little. Ana just grinned. That's the purpose. She wanted to divert their attention so that her friends could calm down.
"Okay now, what do we have to do?" asked Nura starting the discussion.
"I think, we need to ask for help." said Ana.
"But how?" Fiyya spoke up after she calmed down a little.
"We have to get out of here" Myra suggested.
"Then where do we want to go?" Ana questioned.
"Office dormitory." answered Myra shortly.
"Office?" Ana, Fiyya and Nura said in unison before they looked at each other. Myra nodded.
"We need the phone to get help. Because there is a high possibility that everyone in this school has been infected. We have to ask for help from outsiders." Myra explained at length.
"Help from Outsiders? Like police officer?" Myra nodded affirming Nura's words.
"So everyone has agreed to go out?" Myra tried to get reassurance from her friends. The atmosphere was quiet for a moment. Each still hesitates to make a decision. Myra sighed. Myra thought how to convince her friends.
"How long are you going to sit in here? We can't just stay here. Help won't come if we don't do anything. We have to go out and look for help, okay?" Myra coaxed using a soft tone.
"Okay, I'll come. In a situation like this, we can't just sit back, right?" Ana spoke after being silent for a long time. Nura just nodded her head in agreement. Myra looked at Ana and Nura with a big smile.
"Fiyya?" Myra turned her gaze towards Fiyya. A look of doubt appeared on his friend's face.
"You don't trust.. me?" Myra looked directly into Fiyya's pupils.
"No..It's not that! I just-" Myra, Ana and Nura just remained silent waiting for Fiyya to finish her words.
"I'm confused with my feelings. I'm worried. This thing involves life and you know this. This thing can't be played with. If I make a wrong move-" Fiyya started to express her doubts before being cut off by Ana.
"You're actually worried about your friends' safety, right?" Ana made a guess. Fiyya who heard Ana's words immediately looked down at the floor. Know that Ana guessed right.
" You should have say it early." said Ana lazily.
"Shut up!" said Fiyya a little angry. Ana just showed a lazy expression on her face. Myra and Nura just smiled at their friend's antics.
"It's okay, Fiyya. As long as we don't break apart, we will be okay." Myra held Fiyya and Ana's hands tightly.
"That's right. No matter what happens, we will always be together" It was Nura's turn to grasp Fiyya and Ana's hands. They all held hands in a circle as if channeling strength to each other.
"Yeah! No matter what the challenge is, we face it together." Ana said with a smile. Fiyya was moved to hear the words of her friends.
"So... Fiyya?" Myra asked wanting to be sure. Fiyya nodded in agreement.
"We will always be together! Promise." Myra said as she placed her right hand in the middle of their circle.
"Promise!" Nura said those words while imitating Myra's actions just now. Ana also did the same thing.
Myra, Ana and Nura looked at Fiyya, waiting for Fiyya to do the same. Fiyya just looked at her three friends before placing her palm on Ana's hand.
"Promise."
