His Thirty Eternity

His Thirty Eternity

Embracing Eternity

The autumn season had rained upon his eyes again, repeatedly to the point that he had gotten sick of counting. Every brown petal, every knitted sweater and every happily ever after.  As his shoes were replaced one after another, as did his hometown swapped for the better. He'd exhausted his once-disdained mortality that is now his only desired mentality.

How big of a fool he'd once been. To be easily caught like a bug in the spider's trap. A devil's exchange he'd never thought of regretting in the future. As the adam's descendant, he'd fallen for the very same trickery. The story of eating the forbidden apple proceeds but with a twist in it. Thus, eternity was bestowed upon him, the once bearer of mortality, how he thought none of the consequences going against Aion's compasses of time.

Clouds of blue were to entertain his days and night, faithful in escorting the now lord immortal of the night. Might have been the only companion to ever last by his side due to the contract that's put in power. He saunters forth as the world crumbles in front of his eyes, as everything expired with the exception of him. This longing to be included in this death masses crazed him to the point of losing his bits of sanity.

He'd pray and beg to all the gods existing but his every effort was not even worth mentioning. Considering how he had sold his soul to the devil, the exact creature to smile overlooking all of his disasters even the pure beings refused to lend him a hand, granting him mercy for this forbidden immortality he'd acquired through dirty means.

Each time he'd sought death, death itself return him to his starting point. How not even the earth is accepting his corpse that no longer bears mortality upon his shoulder. He'd begun accepting this ache that will forever be carved upon his soul although thoughts of death had yet to escape his mind.

Opening a new chapter in his life means getting to know new people too. Despite the beginning, he was so reluctant to make acquaintances with new people, those people were blessed with infinite patience and actually got close to him. This proximity can't be called close enough to be attached together but they get along well. He'd get to know a couple who then grew old together alongside him whose hair never whitened.

The most memorable moment for him would be the day this couple produced an angel of a baby. The day he was asked to hold that pure little thing was the day his tears flowed down his cheek. He was touched by the fact that his heartfelt baptised holding the angel in his cradle. While he's not one who sought to have a child of his own, he's hit by this melancholy of not having the blood ties he could call a relative, a family.

If someone then suggested why not have a family of his own, he'd even be disgruntled. He owned no sick hobby of watching his beloved one passing away, one by one as he remained still standing on the earth until none of them was to remain. He'd rather have none, to begin with, although he did wonder how having one would have felt like. Having a partner by your side to wake up to, to exchange kisses with and to accompany your day. What a wonderful feeling that must have been. A feeling he could only dream of.

Once upon a fallen country, he was laying amongst the corpses pretending to be part of the fallen soldiers to avoid complicating things further. There had been a war ongoing between two opposing countries and a huge war had broken out costing a ridiculous amount of death of soldiers, villagers even the aristocrats. No one was spared in this deadly death mass that is of course, with the exception of him.

There among the splashing blood that's drying under the striking sun, he sunbathed despite the stink of the corpses he's buried with. "How tiring this is..."

He was stunned. How had the words playing in his mind escaped its box of thought and compiled into a sentence spoken in a rather hoarse voice? He immediately woke in a sitting position with confusion colouring his clean face, immensely contrasting to their catastrophic surrounding.

"You...are alive?" His shaky finger pointed to the man laying in a casual position despite also being buried amidst the piling corpses. He appears to even be searching for the most comfortable position, not minding the fact that he's considered dead meat among other dead meats.

Noticing his voice, the man turns toward him and flashed him a smile he'd never forgotten passing even the century. The guy still around with his silly motion eventually rose and walked to him whos still in a sat position. He pulled out a clean handkerchief from his invisible pocket and wiped his hands cleanly before extending it to him that's still stunned into a statue.

Knowing he won't accept his hand, the extended and instead pulled him up into his embrace instead. "Are you interested in a cup of tea and some biscuits?" He offered with a smile his limited knowledge can't interpret. What are the chances in life for someone to appear what he seemed like rising from death, to pick him up and offered him some tea?  Indeed.

Though, he unknowingly clutched his clothes as he brought him away from the land of chaos. He concedes upon being brought away despite not knowing what the future will be, despite not knowing his intention. His instincts tingled upon this meeting as he was overcome with this urge to surrender himself under his authority.

Years passed and still the same old topic was argued in their home. Neither of them was to confess their origin thus causing discord when he plead for him to leave him alone. Yet this plead was of course rejected early on as just who would agree to leave their loved one with no substantial reasoning. Yet when he was asked for a reason, he uphold his silence and begged for him to confess his origin, silently resenting this little sunshine that had shed his onion peel of a heart, managing to attain his love so effortlessly.

Once, a funeral was held although none of them was acquainted with the deceased, the passing triggered him extensively. To the point that he threatened to be the one leaving their cottage of comfort, saying how he didn't wish to see him pass away like the one they had witnessed.

So he waved a white flag and told him the mystery that had yet unfolded before.

He was a child from the above, sent below to sow no discord amongst the living and mortal beings. Although, according to him, it's more like being banished downstairs for his diligence in doing nothing and being asked to patrol the world of mortals that always failed to interest him since day one. That is until they met of course. Something ignited in him to greet this fellow that was infinitely different from any other being.

He used to think it was mere liking toward a new interest but oh how wrong he was to not figured it was his destiny that he was facing. When he'd finished retelling his past, he nearly fainted from the relief as he told him the immortality that he had acquired from the old days of playing around which caused him to be stuck in this loop of lifeless days until they chanced upon one another.

He laughed which blew away all of his weighing burden from the aforethought of having to part so that his passing won't happen right before his vision. He then pulled him into a warm embrace, tightening their hug before explaining how if he was disinterested in living the boring life on earth, he should join him above. That is as he was supposed to remain on earth for thirty years more.

He shunned away from his touch, realising how he was left with no more but thirty years while he was to send his eternity watching the world transform. Realising his thoughts, he immediately braced the small back and whispered assurances, promising him that once his thirty years is up, so would his time and he no longer had to linger his day alone.

After lots of promises, he agreed with the tears of joy he had sealed their eternal promises. A promise that consisted of the two of them to be forever attached by the hips, and by nights he would whispered him love songs to no end as they both embraced a new meaning to eternity that forever is lovely.
