When she was tempted to enter without permission, she noticed a sweet Omega approaching the office. "Ha! Stupid Omega, I do not—," Mirtha began, but Tess didn’t let her finish her retort.
"Karam, make her kneel," Tess ordered, focusing intensely on Mirtha.
At that moment, the huge beast lunged at Mirtha, the alert secretary who was ready to defend the Queen was shocked by the appearance of the enormous animal; such an outcome was unexpected.
For her part, Mirtha was terrified; she could see in the swirling dark eyes of the Lycan, black as voids, that it lacked humanity or reason.
"Mirtha pureblood alpha, kneel or die," Tess commanded in her soft and sweet voice.

"Majesty, it won’t happen again; I’ll be cautious, I promise," Mirtha said, swallowing hard as tears threatened to fall, aware she could die at any moment. This Omega was not as she seemed; Mirtha couldn’t comprehend where such defiance and control emanated from.
"Good," Tess said with a lovely smile before turning to Karam.
"Karan, my little rascal, back to your cages. I'll visit you again tomorrow," she chirped, watching the creature lower its head and gaze at her like a puppy to its master before leaving, cutting a path through the people who were nearly petrified.
Tess scratched her nose and entered her Mate’s office, greeted the secretary who was still agape, and excused herself into the bathroom when she saw Anubis looking puzzled. She blew him a kiss, knowing he’d scold her for her actions.
Anubis smiled, getting the full blow-by-blow account from his secretary through their bond. Outside, Mirtha was weeping uncontrollably, feeling like she had nearly died. Tess was truly bold, employing a wild Lycan to corner a domineering Lycan was madness. The elder wolves of the council demanded explanations about the Queen's escapade, while Anubis massaged his temple, aware that this puppy was growing into a true Queen, one who could stir up the Royal pack when she set her mind to it.
