Valeria glanced at her mother, a bit confused.

"Who?" she said with a questioning expression, as if what her mother had said was strange.

Loni laughed, thinking her daughter was joking, but when she saw her completely lost, she immediately grew worried.

"Val, don't scare me, your ex-boyfriend, the one who proposed to you," said Loni, very concerned. It seemed like her daughter had lost her memory.

Valeria blinked several times and then burst into loud laughter.

"HA, HA, HA, Mom, I'm so sorry, I don't know what's wrong with me, but I had completely forgotten about that guy. How strange," murmured Valeria, while Loni felt that her daughter was acting very peculiar.

The next day, the doorbell rang at Valeria's house. Loni went to open it and found a handsome and polite young man. Theo stood at the door with a smile, while Loni looked at him slightly worried. "Good morning, ma'am. I was wondering if Miss Valeria is home. I came to inform her that my boss will be meeting with her," said Theo calmly, while the older woman was surprised. Valeria walked out of the kitchen at that moment and nearly had a heart attack when she saw Theo. She didn't want her mother to find out, as stress was poison for a diabetic.

Valeria ran towards Theo like a crazy person to silence him. She couldn't let her mother know that she had lost everything.

"Mr. Theo, thank you for coming. I'm glad they are considering my business proposal," she said, gesturing with her eyes towards her mother.

Theo, who is a Lycan, has already detected the woman's health issue and understood that this troublemaker hadn't shared anything.

"Exactly, Miss Valeria. My boss is interested in your proposal. You know he loves animals," he said, laughing at himself.

Valeria grabbed her bag and left without putting on makeup or fixing herself. She knew her mother was the queen of gossip, and she couldn't have that man at her door any longer.

"Mom, I'm going to meet with her boss. I hope everything goes well, and we'll have better days," she said with a smile, pulling Theo in a hurry. Loni looked at them puzzled, but something told her that this had arrived and she should pay closer attention to her beloved Valeria.

In the car, Valeria tapped her chest, almost revealing the terrible situation she was in.

"Mr. Theo, thank you for not saying anything. She can't get stressed. I can't afford to increase her medication. Her insulin is already very expensive, and we don't have insurance. A hospitalization due to this bad news is something I can't afford," she said, feeling a bit anxious.

Inside, behind a large desk, a tall and attractive man was looking at some documents.

"Good morning," she said, gathering courage. She had to achieve her objective, without giving in, without surrendering.

"Hello, little devil. Take a seat," he said, looking at her flirtatiously.

Suddenly, Valeria felt that her voice wouldn't come out. She was enchanted as Osiris looked at her, amused. Even though she was a human, she was already developing the bond.

Valeria sat down, trying to organize her thoughts and make her body respond.

"Mr. Osiris, I want you to know that I will not accept a 'no' for an answer. You must return my money. I've lost everything, and I cannot accept this," she said firmly.

"Well, I won't accept a 'no' as an answer either, so let's make a deal," he said, smiling, while Valeria fails to understand what's happening.

"Listen, Diablilla, this is a contract. To put it nicely, I have several wild beasts, and I need someone who knows how to handle them. So, you'll have to help me with this for a couple of months. I warn you, there are many of them. But in return, I'll provide you with a well-equipped veterinary clinic. I'll make all your needs come true. We both come out winning," Osiris said, staring at her.

Valeria is speechless. There is something about this situation that she doesn't like at all.
