Episode 10

Theo sighed. Things were about to get really bad now.

Valeria woke up after a few hours, confused and feeling a pain in her neck. When she touched the area, she shuddered at the feeling of her fingers brushing against it. She sat up, disoriented and more lost than ever. She remembered what had happened, though it seemed more like a dream than reality. That man had made her feel sensations she had never experienced before in her life.

"Miss Valeria, you're finally awake. Your accident was quite serious," Theo said expectantly. They had to deceive her a little. They couldn't just tell her straight away that she had been marked by the Lycan King and was now his wife, slowly becoming a Lycan herself.

"Accident?" Valeria asked, even more confused. She didn't remember the situation.

"Yes, when the guards came in, you got scared and fell off the table, losing consciousness. But during your fall, you hurt your neck on the edge of the table. The doctor has already checked you and you're perfectly fine," Theo said seriously, feeling like his nose was about to grow longer at any moment, not because he was a Lycan, but because he felt like Pinocchio.

Valeria blinked, still confused. She didn't fully understand yet. Maybe she had hallucinated what happened after the fall.

"Where is your boss? I want him to give me back my veterinary clinic and return the money," she said angrily. She had a goal, and Theo's eyes sparkled. It seemed she wasn't going to let her boss get away with this. That was good. Osiris was a master at deceiving young girls like Valeria.

"He went to an urgent meeting. He told me he'll figure out how to solve that issue. As an apology for the accident, he asked me to take you home," Theo spoke politely, and Valeria, still dazed, nodded. She was tired. She felt weak and just wanted to sleep.

Valeria nodded, lacking the energy to argue. She felt like her energy had been drained in an instant.

She left with Theo, and along the way, everyone stared at her with their mouths wide open. Some bowed their heads while Theo shook his head. Valeria didn't notice, but being marked, she emitted the scent of her mate, which wolves and Lycans could smell. That human was the Moon Queen.

Theo arrived with a sleeping Valeria. The young woman had slept the whole way after Theo gave him the address. She looked a bit pale, which was normal. She would develop some Lycan traits, although she wouldn't become a full Lycan. Her body would undergo changes, and she would have to endure the strong seed of a Lycan, especially that of the Lycan King, and carry his heir. She could die without a transformation. She wouldn't be able to have a child with the King.

Valeria entered her house in a state of confusion, still pale. She didn't want to tell her mother about what had happened. She didn't want to worry her. So, she would just make up an excuse until that man returned her money and moved her small business elsewhere.

"Vale, my daughter, what are you doing home so early? Aren't you supposed to open your clinic?" Loni asked, a little puzzled, but she grew more concerned when she saw Valeria.

"Mom, the street is being renovated, and they asked us not to open our businesses for safety. Plus, I think I'm sick. I'm going to take advantage of this and rest for a couple of days," Vale said as she headed to her room. Loni hurried and touched her forehead. She had a fever, so she found her some fever-reducing medication and urged her to drink lots of fluids. Maybe it was just a passing flu.

Valeria slept all afternoon and night. Loni was worried because her daughter never skipped a meal. The next day, Vale was a bit more recovered, but still looked a little weak.

That day, Vale didn't want to go out. She felt an anxiety in her chest that grew with each passing moment. That afternoon, she had had very strange dreams in which that man, that snob who never left her mind, appeared.

In the evening, Valeria came down to eat a little. Her appetite had diminished greatly. She felt confused, and Loni looked at her with concern, so she decided to question her.

My goodness, is that Luis, your ex-boyfriend who has been looking for you?" she said, concerned. Perhaps that unfaithful scoundrel had been bothering her again.

Valeria had a boyfriend who came from a wealthy background. When Valeria was finishing her studies, he even deceived her by going to her house to ask for her hand in marriage. His objective was to have her in his bed, and he had almost succeeded on that occasion. However, Valeria was afraid of getting pregnant. She was in her final year, and it would have been like committing harakiri. Although Luis was very wealthy, deep down in her heart, she felt like she didn't belong in his world. It could be possible that Luis' family wouldn't accept her.

Two months after he proposed, Valeria saw in the high society news that Luis had married a wealthy young woman. Both families were from the same economic rank.
