At that moment, a cheerful young woman entered the room, looking at Tess and placing her hands on her cheeks in surprise.

"Is it her? By the Goddess Moon, she's so thin, and look at her bruised face. I hope her wounds are healing now that she's receiving the antidote," the young woman spoke rapidly, approaching Tess, who looked at her wide-eyed like a startled deer.

The doctor arrived immediately, called by Talesa to examine Tess. But the poor girl nearly died of embarrassment when she saw the handsome doctor approaching, with only a sheet to cover her nudity.

"Hello, Thesai, I just want to check your wounds," the man spoke patiently. He knows that this girl has suffered and must be totally bewildered. Tess curled up, feeling so scared in this situation. What is Roger planning? she thought. She was sure that this was another scheme by that damned man. Only he could want to destroy her all the time, and this must be something like that.

"I... I'm fine, there's no need for me to be examined," she spoke, leaving everyone speechless. Her voice was soft and sweet, warm, but there was a hint of nobility. Just listening to her brought joy to the heart.

Before the three visitors could react, Tess caught a delicious aroma, intoxicating and full of different sensations. It was strong and powerful, but at the same time, it made her feel safe (Mate immediately thought). But she realized that something was wrong, until the door suddenly opened, and Tess nearly died of shock at who entered.

She never thought the Goddess Moon would want her dead for good. Now she would surely die. Tess paled and just managed to get off the bed, tearing off her IV disregarding her bleeding arm or her nakedness. She knelt on the floor and started to cry hysterically.

"Just kill me, please. I will accept your punishment. I know an insignificant Omega like me cannot be your Mate. Just don't lock me up anymore. I prefer death, I prefer death over that life. I will understand and accept it," Tess choked on her tears. If being an alpha's mate killed her parents and she had suffered immensely, she can't imagine what will happen with him.

"I, Anubis Triente, Lycan King of all shape-shifters in the Southern Hemisphere, will never reject you, little omega. Don't even dream it. You stay with me, period," the man spoke as he took off his jacket to cover her. With a glance, he warned the doctor, who looked away since he was looking at her, the Lunar Queen, the Mate of the Lycan King of the Southern Hemisphere. Finally, after centuries, the King had found his Mate, and she was a precious, sweet, and gentle Omega, a soul that could rule with wisdom and serenity.

Tess was petrified. She jumped at the feeling of the jacket covering her, and even more, at his scent. Her whole body trembled within her, and suddenly she felt like she was flying through the air. Anubis had lifted her into his arms to put her back on the bed, but Tess was scared to death. She hadn't processed what was happening yet.

Anubis sat on the bed and placed her between his legs. Tess was in a trance, unable to react. Fear paralyzed her while tears streamed down her face and her lips trembled.

The tall, strong man of thirty lowered his jacket delicately on her back. The wounds were less deep, and the doctor could assess the situation. It seemed like the antidote was taking effect. The girl was beginning to heal her wounds, but Anubis was enraged. He could count every rib of hers; she was skin and bones. Her hair had fallen out due to malnutrition, and she only had patches of hair in certain places. Her protruding vertebrae were scandalously noticeable, and her face was covered in bruises. But yet, to him, Tess seemed like the most beautiful being on the planet.

The Lycans do not have a second chance to have another Mate, there is only one and nothing else, so finding her or having the Moon Goddess give her to him after being rejected, for Anubis all of this is more than a blessing.

Anubis lifted his head trying to calm himself, he doesn't want her to sense his murderous energy upon seeing how she had been treated and said to those present.

"Leave, I will give my little pup a bath, the doctor will administer the serum again after that," it was an order and everyone left in silence except the young Lycan.
