When Beta arrived with Tess, Roger glared at her. He couldn't deny that she was beautiful, but that didn't matter now. Because of her, he was now the laughingstock of the pack.

* Omega, I will make you pay for your audacity. How dare you accept my rejection? You should accept your fate and humiliate yourself. But since you want things the hard way, you will be my whore until I tire of you. Roger grabbed her by the hair and threw her onto the couch as Tess cried uncontrollably. She didn't want to be with him; she feared and hated him.

Roger woke up one morning, and Lucia wasn't by his side as usual. He had marked her after the incident with the Omega, but these past two years had been a complete disaster.

When Roger jumped out of bed in search of Lucia, he found her standing on the window ledge, swaying and lost in her own thoughts. He ran and caught her before she could do something foolish, but when she snapped back into reality, she began crying hysterically.

A week ago, their newborn son had inexplicably died, ceasing to breathe without anyone realizing, and Lucia was distraught. Roger could only console her by caressing her back. He had consulted the witches about what was happening, and they all told him it was a punishment for rejecting his fated mate.

The young alpha pondered over this.
