Upon entering the house, Jazmin felt Emilio's hand lightly touching her waist. He looked at her, and they both took a breath and walked towards the living room. The couches and the floor were white.

They approached where a woman was standing, who didn't seem very old. She had a white scarf covering her hair and a warm smile, although she looked tired and pale.

Emilio let go of Jazmin for a moment and approached the woman, while everyone looked at Jazmin.

"My boy, you came," said Charlotte, Emilio's mother, embracing him.

"I told you I would," Emilio said, hugging his mother affectionately.

"But who is accompanying you, Emi?" his mother asked, smiling and looking at Jazmin.

"Mother, this is Jazmin, my girlfriend. And Jazmin, this is my mother Charlotte."

The woman smiled even more upon hearing this and immediately hugged Jazmin.

"Hello, Jazmin, welcome," she said, smiling at her.

"Thank you," Jazmin replied nervously.

Charlotte began to open the box, and everyone watched, assuming that the gift would be very expensive, even Emilio, as he wondered what his parents' reaction would be.

As soon as Charlotte opened it, she smiled and took it out.

"They're beautiful, I love them. Emilio told you that I love plants?" Charlotte said, lighting the candle.

"I didn't say anything, Mother. Jazmin took the initiative," Emilio said, taking Jazmin's hand and smiling for the first time.

"But where did you get them?" Charlotte asked, looking at her.

"Well, I made them. My mother used to make personalized candles, and I learned."

"Oh, that's wonderful, Jazmin. They're truly beautiful. Thank you very much," Charlotte said, touching Jazmin's hand in gratitude.

Jazmin was about to stand up when Emilio grabbed her waist, preventing her from standing. He looked at Emilio, who seemed upset by Joshua's attitude, so she had no choice but to offer her hand. Joshua, however, took Jazmin's hand and kissed it, smiling at Emilio.

People began to arrive at the house, dissipating the tension caused by Joshua.

"But tell me, how did you two meet?" Charlotte asked.

"Yes, tell us," Carlos said, intrigued.

"Well, Jazmin works for the company as an accountant."

"Oh, how nice. The first girl that dates Emilio and likes numbers, not just the ones in his bank account," Carlos sarcastically remarked.

"Jazmin, tell me, what do you like about my boy?" Charlotte said, smiling, avoiding Carlos' comment.

Jazmin immediately looked at Emilio, who looked at her and lowered his head.

"Well, it's not new that Emilio is handsome, but what attracted me to him is how tender he is with children," Jazmin said.

Emilio immediately smiled, knowing why she said that.

"Well, it's because Jazmin has a little sister who is the same age as Clara," Emilio said, smiling.

"She's not your daughter, is she?" Carlos said disapprovingly.

"No, she's my sister, but it's like she's my daughter. Our parents died a few months ago, and she only has me," Jazmin said, never taking her eyes off Carlos, leaving him speechless.
