Cristi was transferred to a very luxurious hospital, where several doctors took care of her day and night. After two days, the heart had arrived, and the day of the operation had come. Jazmin spent every day there, never leaving Cristi's side.

The surgery had lasted all night, but everything had gone well. Cristi's body had accepted the heart perfectly. Jazmin was happy, watching Cristi recover from outside the room, looking through a glass.

"Her body is responding well to the heart, although the recovery will be a bit slow. But Cristi is out of danger," Richard said with a smile on his face, approaching Jazmin.

"You have no idea how grateful I am, Richard," Jazmin said, hugging him.

But at that moment, Jazmin heard a clearing of the throat behind her. She let go of Richard when she heard

"Emilio, what a surprise to see you here," Richard said, still smiling, looking at Jazmin.

"Yes, I can see that I have surprised you," Emilio replied in a somewhat annoyed and sarcastic tone.

"Well, I was just giving Jazmin some good news. Cristi is out of danger," Richard said.

"That's great. I told you, my little bear, that Richard would do everything possible to improve Cristi," Emilio said, gripping Jazmin's waist tightly.

Richard was surprised to see Emilio's action. He had never shown any affection for anyone since he worked for him.

Jazmin stood still, smiling nervously, looking at Richard with pity.

"Yes, I was thanking him for everything he did," she said.

"Well, don't thank him too much, my little bear, and come with me," Emilio said.

"Well, I'll leave you two. I'm going to see Cristi. Jazmin, see you later. Emilio, see you later," Richard said.

Emilio took Jazmin by the arm.

"I hope this is the last time you embrace someone so effusively and in public, especially now that everyone will know you are my girlfriend and future wife. So, I need you to behave," Emilio said, walking with Jazmin outside the hospital.

"Enough, you're making me stumble. I was just thanking him for everything he did for Cristi," Jazmin said nervously, tucking her hair behind her ear without looking into Emilio's eyes.

"She is in the hands of the best doctors, and as far as I know, you are not a doctor. So, I will send for you tonight. Get ready. I have fulfilled my part, now it's your turn," Emilio said, running his hand along Jazmin's waist, barely grazing her buttocks.

Jazmin remained silent. There was no point in arguing. She knew this would be the way things were for a year, and she had to fulfill it. After all, Emilio had saved Cristi's life. Although she was truly nervous, she had never been with a man, not even as a boyfriend. Even though a friend from college had shown interest in her, nothing had ever happened. Emilio would be her first, and the worst part was that it would be without love or any feelings from either of them.
