Jazmin stormed out of the corporation, angry tears streaming down her face

"Jazmin," Joshua said.

She glanced at him, wanting to scream at him but refraining, only hoping to escape from that place

"Who does that idiot think he is using Cristi as a blackmail?" she thought as she walked.

"But what happened? That woman looked at me like a killer," Joshua said, looking at Emilio with some annoyance.

"What happened? Nothing, she will come to sign the contract," Emilio said, annoyed, his eyes fixed on the computer.

"Nothing has even started yet and you're already angry. I don't know how you'll be after a year. That woman will drive you crazy, mark my words," he said mockingly.

"Shut up and go to work."

WHEN JAZMIN ARRIVED HOME, LOLA WAS NEAR AN AMBULANCE. A PAIN STRUCK HER STOMACH AND SHE RAN AS FAST AS SHE COULD, HER LEGS TREMBLING, TRYING TO REACH.

"What's happening, Lola? Where is Cristi?" Jazmin asked, agitated and anxious.

"Get in the ambulance, Jazmin. It's Cristi, she got sick. They are taking her to the hospital. I'll see you there, okay? You need to stay calm," Lola said.

JAZMIN GOT INTO THE AMBULANCE WHERE CRISTI WAS. SHE WAS PALE, AND PARAMEDICS WERE PROVIDING HER WITH OXYGEN, WHILE ANOTHER ATTACHED HER TO AN IV

She was in shock at the sight, she took her hand and said in her mind.

"Be strong, Cristi, please. Everything will be fine. You can't leave me"

The journey to the hospital was long, and upon arrival, the paramedics exclaimed

She has a red bracelet, her heart rate is low.

Jazmin didn't want to let go. Tears streamed down her cheeks like waterfalls, the intense pain in her chest barely allowing her to breathe. Anxiety rendered her paralyzed

"Miss, you can't go in," a nurse said, preventing her from entering the room.

Lola arrived and embraced Jazmin. She was in shock, her hands trembled, she was cold and silently crying

The hours felt endless. Nurses and doctors came and went, but nobody said anything. The night arrived along with the cold and the uncertainty of not knowing anything. Lola and Jazmin's eyes kept closing from exhaustion. They shared a sweater to shield themselves from the cold

In the morning, a doctor came out and said

"Family of Lopez Cristin," the doctor said, looking at some papers.

"It's us, doctors," Jazmin said, standing up immediately.

"You're Jazmin, Cristin's sister, right? There's no way the parents are present."

"No, doctor, our parents died. I am Cristin's only family," she said, her voice breaking.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know. Well, Jazmin, Cristin has entered the phase where her organs are failing because there isn't enough blood pumping. She urgently needs a heart transplant."

"She is already on the waiting list."

"You know she's almost at the bottom, and I don't think she'll survive another week. To be moved up to the top, money is needed."

Jazmin broke down in tears

"They're going to let my sister die because I don't have money," she shouted.

"I'm sorry, it's not in my hands."

"Of course, it's in your hands, murderers," she screamed hysterically.

"Calm down, Jazmin. I will talk to my boss and request a loan."

"What am I going to do, God help me. It's so much money that is needed, Lola"

"Well, we'll sell everything."

Jazmin thought of Emilio's contract. She had no other choice, sell herself or let her sister die

"Stay here, Lola, please. I'll go find someone who can help me."

"Don't leave me like this, Jazmin."

"Don't worry, Lola, I won't steal, alright?"

"No, Jazmin, what are you going to do?"

"Don't worry, just stay here no matter what."

JAZMIN LEFT THE HOSPITAL, CRYING. SHE HAD NO OTHER CHOICE BUT TO ACCEPT EMILIO'S CONTRACT

She arrived at Emilio's office, went up in the elevator, and found that his secretary wasn't there, so she simply entered Emilio's office.

Emilio was with Joshua. Both of them looked at Jazmin, noticing that she looked distraught, unlike they had ever seen her before

"Sorry, there was nobody outside, but I came to speak with you, Emilio."

"At least say hello," Joshua said, trying to calm the situation.

"Yeah, tell me what you want, I'm busy." Emilio said, leaning back in his desk and looking at her.

"I won't take much of your time, I just came to tell you that I accept, I will sign your contract," Jazmin said, feeling embarrassed and with red eyes, looking at Emilio and Joshua.

"Well, I'll come back later, Emilio," Joshua said, leaving the office when he saw Emilio and Jazmin's tense faces.
