Episode 11

...Valentina...

A new day has dawned, and I must hold a press conference to avoid future issues.

I spent the whole morning and part of the afternoon in calm work.

Olivia: Dear, it's time. Everyone is waiting for you.

Valentina: Let's go, and please, stay close.

Olivia: Don't worry, I'll be by your side.

Together, we made our way to the company entrance and encountered a crowd of 20 reporters.

"Good afternoon, everyone," I called out to grab their attention.

"I know you've come because of the recent news; I will allow one question per person. Please proceed."

Reporter 1: Does your ex-fiance's infidelity hurt you?

Valentina: No.

Reporter 2: Is it true you're married?

Valentina: Yes, I found out two weeks ago.

Reporter 3: You didn't know?

Valentina: No.

Reporter 4: How did you meet your husband?

Danilo: It seems it was a drunken mishap, five years ago. We got hitched in Las Vegas and never saw each other again.

Reporter 5: How did you learn about your husband? Did he come forward to tell you?

Valentina: I had my lawyer check for a wedding date with Fabian, and that's when she discovered the marriage certificate with... - I paused before saying his name, thank heavens - Next question, and one per person only.

Reporter 6: Does your husband know he's married?

Valentina: I think not, but I will inform him in the coming days.

Reporter 7: If you're a well-known and serious woman, how could you make such a mistake? I mean, a drunken spree and a wedding.

Valentina: I'm human and I make mistakes too.

Reporter 8: Is your husband famous?

Valentina: Yes.

Reporter 9: What do you think about the women who were involved with your ex?

Valentina: They didn't respect themselves much, no offense. Fabian doesn't have much to offer, just a handsome face and a set of muscles - I said with a sardonic smile.

Reporter 10: Do you plan on reconciling with Mr. Fabian?

Valentina: No.

Reporter 11: Will you ever elevate another man to fame?

Valentina: I might date someone in the future, but it's you who bestow fame.

Reporter 12: Wouldn't you like to fall in love with your husband?

Valentina: Ha, ha, ha, I don't know him, but it could happen, and then I can answer your question in a few months - I responded with a genuine smile.

Reporter 13: You know who Susan Wilson is, what's your opinion of your ex-fiance?

Valentina: I know the woman, and I can say that she's foolish; Mr. Miller is handsome, unlike Fabian.

Reporter 14: Could you see yourself in a relationship with Mr. Miller?

Valentina: That is something we would both have to want.

Reporter 15: Did you know Mr. Harris disclosed your marriage?

Valentina: Yes, he learned about it when I spoke with my friend and it was obvious he would divulge it to make me look bad. But I'm at ease, I know I made a mistake, but that's no reason to shun society. If anyone here is a saint, let me know and I'll give you a gift.

Reporter 16: Would you forgive Mr. Harris?

Valentina: No, I don't forgive infidelity.

Reporter 17: He said you were lifeless in bed.

Valentina: Well, that's his opinion. If you want, I can share mine - I waited as they nodded, curiosity evident - Perhaps I was lifeless because I had to stay still; if I moved, the act would be over because five centimeters don't do much.

Laughter erupted and we continued with the remaining questions.

Reporter 18: Why did you stay in that relationship for so long?

Valentina: As you know, I'm an orphan and felt alone. At first, I was in love with Fabian, but then it became a habit.

Reporter 19: Did you know that Ms. Susan Wilson has vanished?

Valentina: I had no idea; perhaps she took a vacation, embarrassed to be named among so many mistresses. Besides, didn't her wedding get canceled?

Olivia approached me and whispered - There's no news of a cancellation, maybe Danilo is going ahead.

"No way, don't let her manipulate you, Danilo," I thought.

Reporter 20: What will happen with the brands that want you and Mr. Harris together for modeling?

Valentina: I will cancel them.

I noticed about ten more people raising their hands, whom I hadn't seen before.

Valentina: Did you just arrive? - I pointed at them.

They nodded, and I repeated the same rule...

"One question per person. Go ahead."

Reporter 21: Mr. Miller has just announced, he's called off his wedding. What do you think?

Valentina: He's smart, at least he's not easily deceived.

Reporter 22: Were you aware of your ex-fiance's past?

Valentina: No. Had I known, I wouldn't have approached him.

Reporter 23: Do you still have feelings for your ex?

Valentina: No.

Reporter 24: Do you wish to have children?

Valentina: Yes.

Reporter 25: How many children do you want? I can help haha.

Valentina: Two or three would be nice - I laughed along with him.

Reporter 26: Is your husband handsome?

Valentina: Quite.

Reporter 27: Between your mysterious husband, Fabian, and Mr. Miller, who do you choose?

I chuckled internally because even though they were unaware, they were asking me so much about my Husband and Danilo, being one and the same.

Valentina: Fabian is average, Miller is attractive, and my Husband is no less so. What do you think?

Reporter 28: Miss, how old is your husband?

Valentina: 32 years old.

Reporter 29: Can you tell us his last name?

Valentina: No.

Reporter 30: Would you like to be Mrs. Miller in the future?

I simply smiled at the woman. Answering that question would be digging my own grave. I haven't spoken with Danilo, he doesn't even know I exist; there's no need for them to try to couple me with him – he might hate my answers.

I moved over to Olivia and asked her to wrap up the press round with that question still hanging, and then I made my way to my office.

Olivia: Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for your time, but this concludes the questions.

...----------------...

On the other hand...

...Danilo...

I'm in my office with Oscar, watching Valentina's press conference.

"That woman is forthright and honest," my friend noted.

Danilo: Yes. - That was my terse reply.

One of the women asked what I thought of her, and my throat went dry awaiting her answer, then she voiced that she found me attractive compared to her ex, and it irked me.

"Don't compare me with him," I grumbled, and Oscar scrutinized me.

The most critical question was whether she would consider being with me. Her response was that it would be something both of us should desire. Better for her to speak for herself because if it's up to me, I'd father the three children she wants.

I chuckled at my thoughts, and once the questions ended, we got back to work.

I found myself pondering about that woman's husband. She almost said his name; he's famous, his surname remains undisclosed for fear we might deduce who he is, and lastly, he's my age. If one investigated men with those traits?

"No, I'd look like a damn fool, and remember, don't fall in love, don't obsess, holy mother, stop thinking about that woman," I blurted out, frustrated.
