Chapter 5

"I---" She tried to start a conversation once they were done.

*Cough* Cleared her throat and stated, "Since this is because of me..."

"Don't get ahead of yourself. I just managed to notice something I shouldn't have and let my bike loose. It's not because of you."

She never gets to complete her sentence but not this time.

"Then as a reward of saving me from falling down and ruining my beautiful face, at the cost of your bike, I would like to give you..."

"I refuse to take any money be it the amount as huge as a stack up mountain of dollar bills!" He didn't even stop to listen.

"Why_do..." ---she walked faster, "You_people..." ---and tried to get in front of him, --- "NEVER let me finish!"

"I will not give money. Na--aa." She managed to step just in front and stop him from taking a step further with her both arms stretched to either sides, parallel to the ground, "I wanna give you a decent job."

"A decent one, will it be?" He raised his eyebrows with lips curled into a slight smile.

"Affirmative!" She answered with a confident nod.

He then changed his way and walked from a side saying, "Then I can start from the end of this month."

"Eh___ eh??? Ehhhhh?" She looked like a fool trying to believe and accept the words he just spoke.

"You agree?" She followed.

"I believed I said something like that." He smiled wider.

"Then--- If you do well, I will help you buy a new bike, Of Course with your own money!"

"Not like he would take any 'kind help' from me!"

"Will see."

She stopped and he walked away.

"He didn't bother to ask what job will I give?"

Now Felici had to sneak back in. Wait... She didn't ask what he could do or what are his talents at all! "Oh that's a disaster--- Sister is gonna kill me!" She groaned again in public. *sigh*

A whole week passed, no sign of him in his usual workplace nor did it seem like he was gonna show up in her house.

Felici's classes starts from next month.

Annalise has been bugging her about the guy but how was Felici supposed to have any idea where that lier was?!

"'Did you scare him away?' she says. What am I, a ghost to have scared him away with my terrifying appearance?!"

Another 7 days and yet no news or sign of him whatsoever.

"The receptionist has no clue of why Dusk took such a long leave or even if they have had the information, they wouldn't share."

*Sigh*

Annalise seemed to have lost interest in him because she thinks he will never show up again. "One good thing, I'll not have to arrange for him, a work at home but I will still have to pay him for his bicycle though."

"But there's an issue, one more week and I'll be attending the classes so how am I supposed to meet him at night?" Felici couldn't possibly sleep during the classes or low grades will hover over her head like rain clouds and thus nor can she go to the night place.

"Let's see..." She thought but couldn't really come up with a solution. "Hopefully he shows up within these two weeks." Prayer was all she could do.

The things never go as planned and Dusk never showed up in his work or in Felici's place looking for the decent job she offered.

"Can not help. From tomorrow I will have no time for anything other than studies and dance." At last, she groaned, "How will I earn my expenses myself!"

"But look at the brighter side Felici, You no longer have to attend a dance academy and you're getting both your literature and dance in Royal High! Getting both the things you're most passionate about, what else do you want?" Annalise tried to cheer her sister up in their usual spot, the tree house.

Not that it worked.

"Yeah okay. ---Umm___ Where is father...?" She was a little embarrassed.

"Where?--- Now you ask? How long has it been-- you've been avoiding him and refuse to go talk. Father is sad you know."

"SAD!" Although he usues his 'fake sadness' against her, Felici never once succeeded in ignoring him. "Where exactly is he weeping around." She rolled her eyes as she asked.

"In his room, where else?" Annalise winked and shook her head in disagreement then mouthed, "He sent me, he's just outside."

"Ohho!" Felici gave another eye-roll and slowly walked to the tree house's entrance door.

"Boo!!" She grunted.

Making her father call out loud--- "Hazel!" and finally all the three bursted out in laughter.

He managed to speak after stopping_ "Dinner time. May I take you both beautiful, lovely ladies in a dinner date." Her father was not really angry. How can he be, with these two brilliant daughters his wife left him with? He only wanted the best for them, and was strict because of it. However--- his dear daughters knew well how to get the best of him.

Luigi Astor, a single parent, doted on his two daughters as asked by her deceased wife, he adored. Felici was the last gift from her and he wanted to take the best care of the both of them if that was the last thing he does.

"You may, Señor." Annalise was just like him, even the acting skills were similar. But Felici? On recieving a side glance from both her dear papa and sister, she gave in. *Sigh* "You may Señor Astor." She copied Annalise.

"You know what..." As she walked down, she couldn't help but think. "I could write a whole book on these two weird but awesome actors of my family." And the thought made her chuckle.
