Chapter 17: Finding a good company.

It took more than ten days for Daisy’s hand to completely recover still there was a small scar on her palm which didn’t recover completely. She was laying on top of Xavier like always. Snowball laid beside them on the bed while Dan was on the rug beside their bed.

She woke up and found Xavier still sleeping. It was 7 in the morning. Last he had to take care of her the whole night as she had fever and kept whining because of blocked nose. He fell asleep by 4 in the morning after she slept soundly.

He wiped her sweaty body after her fever got down along with his body as she was sleeping on him. He made sure she was warm inside the blanket in his embrace. The whole night was restless for him.

She looked up and rubbed the tip of her index finger on his right cheek. He groaned and turned his face making her giggle. She opened his eyes with her fingers and played like a kid. His pupil suddenly moved and looked at her.

“Babygirl, you slept really well, huh?“, he asked and held her hand kissing on her palm. “Yes”, she said in a nasal voice. She sniffed loudly as her nose was blocked. “Bad wolf, my nose”, she said. He opened his eyes.

“Did I tell you not to eat icecream and cold drinks at night?“, he raised a brow. She pressed her lips. He pulled the blanket upto her neck and cuddled inside. He made her lay her head on his chest and patted her head and back.

“Sleep”, he said. She hugged him and asked, “What about my university?”

“With your nasal voice and blocked nose, you’re not allowed to go out and get more sick”, he said and continued to pat her. “Bad wolf, my head hurts”, she murmured. He moved his hand on her forehead and gently gave her a forehead massage.

“Bad wolf, I’ll get a tattoo of my nickname you gave me”, she said out of the blue looking at his dragon tattoo on his right chest that went on his right upper arm. “You get injured too often. Tattoo will be too much for you”, he said.

“No, I want a tattoo. I want it”, she said stubbornly. “No”, he said sternly. “I don’t like you”, she pouted. “Yes, you love me”, he chuckled. “Humph. I’ll not talk to you”, she said and buried her face into his chest.

“Really? I’ll not give you a piggy back then”, he said playfully. “I will not like you more then”, she whined and rubbed her nose on his chest. “Let’s get a small tattoo first then, okay?“, he asked gently as he rested his on palm on her mid back.

She looked up with a smile. “What will I get?“, she asked excitedly. “You decide”, he said. She nodded. He knew that she would take more than a week to think about it or even forget till then he will find other excuse.

“Are you sleepy?“, he asked. She shook her head. “How could you be sleepy now? You have been sleeping for more than 10 hours already”, he chuckled. She laughed.

She sat up on him. He too sat her and put her on the bed gently. He stood up on the floor. “I’ll get showered first”, he said and turned to leave but she held his hand. He looked at her. She raised her hands and gestured him to pick her.

He shook his head then picked her on his back and carried her into the bathroom. He settled her on the wash basin and gave her the toothbrush. She lazily brushed her teeth as she kept leaning onto his chest.

He took her to take a bath as she asked him to bath her. “You’re turning more and more lazy now. I won’t come when you will do the modeling and help you walk on the runway and attend shows or while you act in the ", he said while rubbing her back.

“You won’t come to me when I become a model?“, she asked in a sad tone. “I’ll be there at your every show but I won’t be able to help you, Babygirl”, he said gently. She nodded and sighed. “When will we go to find a good company for me?“, she asked.

“I’ve got a few companies details. We’ll check after the breakfast”, he said and bathed her. She nodded. Like he said, after the breakfast his assistant, Jeremy came and gave them all the files of all the best companies.

Xavier didn’t go to office as Daisy was sick and he had to stay at home to take her as he knew she wouldn’t listen to anyone except him. They sat on the sofa in his study room with all the files on the table.

He removed all the companies that he didn’t like from the start. He chose one and showed it to her. “This one is great and good history as well. I want you to join it. I’ll be less worried then”, he said the last part in an inaudible tone which Daisy didn’t hear. “The late best actress was from this company", she said and he nodded.

“They will hold an audition in the coming week, you can go or you want me to get you in the company directly?", he looked at her.

“Nope. I’ll get into the company with my own capabilities”, she said with determination. “Did you grow up all of a sudden, babygirl?", he chuckled. She glared at him. “I’m proud of my Babygirl”, he said and patted her head.

“I hope my voice and nose too gets better then”, she said rubbing her nose which was about to turn red. He held her hand and stopped her. “Don’t rub. Your skin will have rash. See, your nose is so red because of all the rubbing”, he scolded. She scrunched her nose and nodded.

He couldn’t help but think she’s too cute looking at her face as she scrunched her nose and sniffed. He patted her head and chuckled to which she gave a confused look. He checked the time. He stood up with her and walked to their bedroom.

He gave her the medicine. She took the tablets quickly but as he turned to take the syrup she secretly turned to leave. He was much faster and knew her too well. “Don’t you dare run away, babygirl”, he warned and turned with a spoon full of the syrup.

“It’s yuck. I’ll die if I have it”, she whined. “It won’t kill you, babygirl. It’s for your better”, he said and moved the spoon close to her lips but she pushed his hand away and shook her head. “See I got you chocolates and strawberries. Quickly have it then you have them”, he said showing her the plate.

She was tempted but she hated medicines especially syrups. He dipped a strawberry in the chocolate and moved it in front of her eyes. She was only focused on the strawberry. As he moved the strawberry down towards her lips she opened her mouth.

Xavier immediately pushed the spoon inside her mouth making her drink the syrup. She made a disgusted look as he took out the spoon. Before she puked all over, he feed her the strawberry he was holding. She devoured the taste and forgot everything about medicine.

He chuckled. The first day he gave her the syrup she puked all over him so from next day he played with her mind. She sat on the bed with the plate of strawberries and chocolate as she devoured them like a small kid.

She yawned after eating the strawberries. The medicine she had made her sleepy. Xavier wiped her mouth with the tissue while she leaned her head on his firm eight pack abs. “Get some rest. I’ve to attend a conference”, he said gently and laid her on the bed.

“Work beside me. I won’t be able to sleep if you’re not there”, she whined. He nodded and got his laptop then sat on the bed with his back against the headboard. She kept her head on his chest and closed her eyes.

Almost immediately, she fell asleep and started drooling. He made her lay her on his laps and stroked her hairs. The conference started in ten minutes. Everyone saw the drool on his t shirt but didn’t dare comment. Everyone knew he was a playboy and might have been with a girl but they knew how much he loved neatness and anyone would hate a girl who drooled on them.

His face was cold while he attended the conference. Suddenly, Daisy started moving on his laps. He looked down and found her breathing through mouth. He caressed her cheek and continued with the conference. He kept glancing at her to make sure she was peaceful.

The conference was four hours long. Daisy woke up after four hours of sleep. She smiled and hugged Xavier tightly just when he was about to dismiss. He didn’t mind her and patted her head and caressed her hairs. He knew that she would have never did it if she knew he was still in the meeting.

“Dismiss”, he said and closed the laptop that’s when she came to know he was still in the conference. “I didn’t see you were in the meeting”, she said apologetically. He pecked on her nose and said with a smile, “Never mind.”

She smiled at him. He gently wiped the drool from the corner of her lips with his thumb. “Did you sleep well?“, he asked. She nodded. He was about to kiss on her lips but she covered his mouth with her hand making him frown.

“I’ve cold so I might infect you as well”, she said worriedly. “Your cold is little for me. I’m much stronger and even if I’m infected I don’t mind. Let’s get sick together. Let me kiss you. I didn’t kiss you today”, he said and removed her hand.

He leaned down and deeply kissed on her lips sucking on her soft lips. He pulled her closer by holding her head from the back. She kissed him back but didn’t got the lead as he was more stronger. She gripped his tshirt as he kissed her deeper.

He pulled back while they both were out of breath. Her face was red because of the breathtaking kiss.
