Chapter 5

The Duke stared at the flustered girl anticipating the return of a response to his question.

"W-Well, um, I didn't think about the creatures... Are there not only tigers and snakes?"

Arabella stepped forward and faced Eliza with a frown and cleared her throat.

"No, not only Lions and Tigers, there are 3 different species of foxes that only one is dangerous, the crocodiles of the rivers is the main problem there is also a problem of fish eating young children if they are unsupervised. A lot of children have died since we took control and of reinhibition of the Far East after the long century war against the Leviathans."

Arabella's knowledge was shining though she was a female, she was extremely knowledgeable and intelligent. All these endeavors was her past life, what is to come and to improve her knowledge as she was once the Wise Crown Princess.

"Did you forget that there were Leviathans that take the form of some of these creatures, they have to be chased off with that specific flower temporarily, but a saintess must be there to purify the area. We have not had a Saintess this century." Arabella finished her answer as she turned to the Emperor.

Eliza stood in her spot silently as she try to rebuttal with an answer but Leonard stopped her.

"Eliza...stop." Leonard whispered as he sighed in defeat but instead comments with a half-hearted insult.

"Arabella, a smart woman like you will never be able to love a man properly. You will always be studying for the goodness of the kingdom."

Arabella scuffs before she can intervene the Emperor turned his head to Leonard with anger as everyone watched.

"Leonard, I did not raise a son to belittle woman with intelligence your mother the Empress was the most intellectual woman of the Empire. The reason why I wanted a smart woman to accompany you is because of your mother's legacy!" The Emperor voice boomed throughout the throne room as he motioned for Arabella to come closer. "From this day forward! Arabella will compete to be an heir for the throne!"

Arabella's heart stopped, and she remembered in her past life the other heirs and the Duke's were slowly wiped out. Arabella quickly bow down to the Emperor.

"Your Majesty, I do not wish to fight for the throne if I can just be a humble princess."

The Count quickly jumped in to stop Arabella from talking more.

"Arabella, what are you doing? His majesty offer the will for you to be an heir. Do you want to upset his majesty."

The Emperor nodded and smiled at Arabella's words.

"Count De Pointe, your daughter is a humble soul and very knowledgeable be proud of who she is. I want to discuss something's about Arabella at the ball tomorrow night."

"Yes, your Majesty!"

"Arabella, you should listen to your father not to waste this opportunity. Your words and knowledge of history hold weight to the conference. By the end of the year we should find a saintess to bless the lands as the Leviathans or 'creatures' run free"

Arabella smiled at the Emperor as she slowly raised up and as the Emperor motioned for her to get up.

"Conference dismiss!"

As everyone leaves, Arabella walked away from the conference but was stopped by the Emperor.

"Arabella from now on, when you are here in the palace do not be formal. Call me, father. I know how your father is don't hesitate."

"Ah, okay, father."

As Arabella left as she felt the weight of the world off her shoulders. In her last life, that paper led to her downfall as well the same scene as the Duke calling her out on it. The Emperor hated Arabella in the last life. The guilt of killing such a great man who's treating her nicely now still aches her heart. But that was in her last life.

"Arabella!"

Her name echoed through the corridor it was the sound of her father's voice.

"Father?"

"Arabella, how are you so knowledgeable? I thought we would be doomed by your immaturity."

The Count eagerly grabbed Arabella's shoulders as he smiled down at her.

"Father, you know I always study even in the Academy, I made good grades."

"Vincent, never believed in me though."

Arabella grimaced at her brother as she pouted at him. The feeling of being praise rushed to her face as a smile as her brother sheepishly looked away.

"Good Job, sis."

Vincent patted Arabella's head as the three eagerly chatted walking to the carriage.

'I'm changing my fate little by little.'

...ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ...

Tables and plates flew over servants heads as Eliza heard the recent rumors spreading by servants that attended.

"I'll punish all the servants who bad mouth me!!! The Crown prince won't care if I do!!"

With the last dish on the floor Eliza stopped.

"Curse you, Arabella!!"

As Eliza's fits of rage tore her entire bedroom down she slowly lay down on a nearby love seat.

"Crown Princess, the Crown Prince is coming to see you."

"What?!"

Eliza panicked as she scurried to get up and meet the Prince at the door. Tears flood her eyes but not from her earlier actions. The fact the prince will see her place in shambles. As the door opened Leonard looked shocked looking at the destroyed bedroom.

"Boohoo! Your highness, my Crown Prince! I am deeply saddened!! How can Princess Wisdom humiliate me?"

Eliza ran over to Leonard grabbing him into an embrace as her face stained with tears.

"There, There, Eliza don't worry about it. I'll make sure to get revenge for you."

"Really?!"

"Yes, I will! The best can only be for my Crown Princess!"

"Ah! Thank you, Leo~"

As Leonard comfort Eliza he felt a familiar scene play back in his head. He looked down and thought he saw Arabella for a second but a double-take was in order. Indeed, it was Eliza as he was puzzled about his hallucination at the moment he went back to patting the girl's head.

"Eliza, I'll take care of it for sure."
