The sky was dark, few neighbors of Moon district walked back to their houses with unhurried steps, while the sky had been accentuated with numerous tiny diamonds. At least, that was what Auriane saw when she lifted up her head. Her slender neck looked at the starry sky for a while before it fell on a girl in a white flouncy gown.
She had delicate features, flawless appearance that caught the glimpse of admirers. Her vulnerable quality couldn't less add to the angelic expression she gave. Her black hair was neatly braided to fall beside her white, milky slender neck.
While her violet eyes never quit hers from the moment they met. In her past life the girl in front of her had swapped her lovely violet eyes to compare with hers, but had never been satisfied with the quality of lentils that replaced her violet eyes.
Few times she had attempted to pluck out her eyes because of jealousy. The angel-like figure that stood in front of her gave a concerned look, with a friendly tone. Her voice was soft and pleasant in the ears, giving one the impression that she was worried.
Worried?
Heh, Auriane laughed at the word, but her expression was cold when she kept staring at the one that had caused her doom in her past life.
"What's wrong with you, why ain't you saying anything?"
Angel who hadn't cease asking about Aurian's whereabouts suddenly felt a chill and an uncertain feeling of insecurity when facing Auriane. However she ignored it, she didn't want to believe that the chilling aura surged from the stupid girl who had no sense of direction.
Though her mother told her that the stupid girl seemed to have changed, she still needed to confirm it by herself, but she had been talking for close to three minutes. Yet, Auriane didn't give any respond and kept staring at her. She could barely see her features in the dim lit yard, but Auriane could clearly see Angel who was standing under the lamp.
"We meet again Angel?"
Auriane said with a cold stern expression when she was faced to the girl who made her life a living hell. So many desires surged in her heart and she would be liar if she said there was no killing desire among them. However, she suppressed those strong emotions before Angel could perceive any.
Angel might look delicate and innocent, but she was very good at reading others emotions. Hadn't it been for the fact that it was almost dark outside and her expression was slightly masked by the dark, Angel might have suspected something.
She didn't plan to hide her disdain from Angel, but she couldn't be impulsive either. The young Angel who was barely fourteen had no idea of what had happened in her past life, but it didn't change the fact that she had those ideas in the back of her mind. Angel made her plans meticulously and never implicated herself in anything so no one could find any flaws in her.
She was a flawless beauty and her vulnerable quality masked a strength even she wasn't aware of. But it didn't change the fact that she hid a devil behind her angelic face. And her innocent smile was just a dagger that could tear hearts ruthlessly and silently.
"Auriane, what are you talking about, you seem like we haven't met for a while, but we separated in the morning, remember?"
How could she not remember that it was this morning that Angel set a threshold for her plans to make her lose a sister and bown to her glory. If she hadn't been reborn, her sister's reputation would have been destroyed. She wouldn't be surprised if Angel actually took part in the scheme, but of course she was cautious enough not to leave and sign of her implication.
How didn't she see that Angel was such a selfish hypocrite in her last life. But now wasn't the time to ponder on those unnecessary thoughts. Auriane in turn revealed a soft sincere smile.
' Want to act, then I'll play along.'
She would play along with Angel without any hesitation, afterall the Angel at this moment hadn't done anything yet. But if she tried anything against her or her sister, she wouldn't spare her. She would never spare anyone who dares to mess with her, not even Alfred White, her father.
"Yes, I remember clearly how sister sent me to collect wild mangoes for her at the foot of the mountain. However... I couldn't get any after attempting with risk. Angel, do you believe that fate could be changed from there."
"What do you mean, what has that got to do with the Mango trees at the foot of the mountain.", Angel frowned at Auriane sudden change of topic. She frowned even more when she realized she was unable to read through Auriane's expression like she always did. Perhaps it was because of the dark, she made herself to believe.
And about what Auriane had earlier said about fate changing at the foot of the mountain, she was still left perplexed.
' When did the stupid girl learn how to speak so accurately by herself?'
"Nothing, but I'm afraid you would be disappointed."
"Why...why would."
"I fell off the tree and couldn't get your favorite mangoes, hope you don't mind?"
Auriane suddenly approached Angel with her words, causing her to subconsciously step back. She didn't know she also stepped back, but she tried to detect any abnormalities from Auriane's expression, but she couldn't. Auriane had indeed change, she was no longer a book that she could easily read at will.
"I hope you really don't mind?"
"Why would I mind, they're just fruits, we can get some from the market."
Of course they were barely fruits that could be plucked out from the closest trees in the neighborhood. But that wasn't what Angel had told her in the morning, neither was her reaction right. A sister, shouldn't she be worried about her, afterall she just told her that she had fallen in the process of trying to please her.
But it was expected, Angel had never loved her, neither had she treated her as a sister. She was just there to do her assignments and acquiesce to her every needs. She was intelligent, so she could get what she wished with her cunning nature.
So what if she was cunning, Auriane decided to show her that foxes were in numbers and some foxes could be cunnier, even cunnier than her foxy side.
"You're right, they're indeed many mangoes."
Auriane hadn't said anything else from mangoes, but Angel had felt that her words had a strong meaning that she couldn't quite perceive.
Auriane yawned and looked lazily at Angel who was still trying to read her, but in vain.
Heh, did she really think that she could use old methods against her, like she did in the past, so naive.
Aurian mocked inwardly, but her expression was indifferent.
"It's getting late, I should go to bed, you should do same as well."
Auriane walked passed Angel without giving her a second glance. Today was the first encounter with Angel after her reborn, she she didn't want to act impulsively.
