Qualities Of A Friend

' So powerful! '

    She had gasped out the words, even her expression couldn't conceal how impressed she was. It was normal for a muscular guy to lift up a few heavy logs of woods, so she wouldn't pay much attention to it or even show any reaction to such scenes of topless boys showing off their strength to impress girls.

However, the person that caught her attention was not any topless guy showing of his strength. It was a young girl, probably in her fifteenth or younger than that. She was dressed in a crop top, a pair of black pants with black gloves. Her body was tanned but she wasn't less beautiful with short, black silk hair that was plastered on her face due to the sweat that rolled down her body.

Each time she lifted a heavy log, her veins would slightly bulge, but she didn't seem to be bothered by the weight. It was as if she could do the heavy job all her life. However, she seemed cold and unapproachable, but was she really unapproachable?

"She's called Jessica Anhsen, she arrived here two years ago and for some reasons I haven't been able to be of much help for her."

"I've never seen her before."

"She doesn't often leave the woods , she spends her daily life here. And I haven't been able to advice her to take a walk out of the woods. You probably study at X Central City highschool, so you might have heard of her in nicknames from few teenagers around in X central City's highschool."

In nicknames, she hadn't heard many people who had their nicknames going viral. And the few people with nicknames couldn't bear secret for her. Apart from that of a certain girl who was expelled from school barely a month after her enrollment. It was said she lost her temper a lot, so her friends ended up injured.

Jessica Rock

That was the only rumoured nicknamed girl whom her popularity had gone viral, but not once had she met Jessica in her past life. She even happened to think that the girl light be nothing more but a fantôme. But it turns out she was actually a living person whom she found impressive at first glance.

However, the impressive girl didn't look like an ordinary girl or one who was easily approached.

"Jessica is not so unapproachable, it is just that no one know how to get close to a girl who was considered an iron fist weirdo."

   An iron fist girl was indeed the type of girls who couldn't get entirely among girls because they either complained that she had had no feminity or she was a barbarian. While boys would find her too wild as a taste.Each person had his or their own desires and qualities of a friend. Auriane had never had friends in her life she couldn't tell what quality she would like to have in a friend. But she knew that a friend shouldn't only be the one who was there to celebrate with you, but a friend should equally mourn with you.

She never once had one because of Angel, but if she had to choose a friend in this life, then she would choose the outstanding Jessica Ahnsen. 

So what if she was dejected, short tempered and difficult to approach? Maybe Jessica was one of the reasons why fate woke her at that moment to meet Mama Ben. Even if it wasn't fate, the cozy welcoming of Mama Ben and her slight encounter with a girl like Jessica brought her much more than she had lost in her previous life when she decided to ignore Mama Ben's advice to go home when her sister was being slandered.

Listening to an elderly's advice helped save her sister and change the history of her past life, as for the other steps...

"Jessica is an outstanding person with a lot of good qualities, besides I believe she can accomplish a lot."

Mama Ben nodded with a little smile, then she turned towards the girl who had never left her side for over two years. Even if she loved to have someone keep her company, she still felt that the girl was too outstanding to spend the rest of her life with an old lady like her.

Her days were passing by as time was flying faster than it seemed.

Auriane understood Mama Ben's worry, but the old lady didn't add anything to her words so she didn't probe any further. She stood up from her sit as soon as she retracted her gaze from the girl who was splitting woods outside.

"It's getting late, I should take my leave now, I'll visit you another day."

"Right, as a little girl it isn't safe for you to leave late, would you ..."

"Thanks for the warm welcome, mama Ben. It's not early anymore, but not so late either. Besides, I don't want to bother Jessica for the moment."

For the moment?

   A smile curved mama Ben's lips as soon as she heard what Auriane had said. Not only was she polite, but she was considerate and quite observant. She didn't hide her desire to approach Jessica, but she also knew that she had to be patient. Today was barely their first encounter, mama Ben hoped that their next encounter would benefit both girls who seemed to have similar problems.

Mama Ben watched the skinny back view of the girl with whom she had just shared a cup of tea. They hadn't shared much together, but she felt that it was worth while meeting her.

"If you're so reluctant to watch her leave, why didn't you ask her to stay a little longer?"

Mama Ben's attention was drawn away from the disappearing back view of Auriane towards that of Jessica who had suddenly appeared beside her like ghost.

"The little girl is quite interesting, don't you think so?"

"What's so interesting about her, apart from her brain, beauty and delicate features, there's not much to be interested about?"

"She'll be back, maybe by that time you can find out more about her?"

' Find out more about her? '

   Jessica didn't need to ponder any further to understand that mama Ben was trying to mae a friend for her. Though she wasn't displeased by the old lady's interference in her personal life, she still felt that it was a painstaking efforts that would end in vain.

Who would want to get close to a brainless wild girl as her. In school she lost her temper so many times and even injured her friends, so her father sent her in the Central city to live with Mama Ben with hopes that could finally learn to control her temper. However, barely a month after her enrollment she injured another classmates. Two years had elapsed since that incident and she hadn't set foot in school. She did nothing more but exercise her strength and reflexe in the forest, maybe one day her brutal strength would come into handy one day. And as for now she could only take refuge in the forest where she wouldn't be judged by others.

"It's needless, such a skinny petite frame, it's impossible."

   Jessica believed that even if she wanted to make an effort to get close to Auriane, it was probably impossible to become friends with her. She could give a first impression of Auriane as intelligent, kind and compared to her she's in perfect control of her temper. 

But that was barely her impression for a first encounter, she believed that Auriane had more surprises.
