Nato's grandson

“Maki looks very different. ”

“He used to have short hair back then.” Theo was lost in thought.

Theo realized how awkward it was and scribbled quickly on a new piece of paper from the same book, “What are you doing here? Are you a detective?”

Theo ment it as a joke but when Maki answered,“Yes” he looked at Maki suprised.

Maki seeing Theo’s reaction asked,“Did you think I wasn't?”

“Yes, a little.” Theo replied

Maki looked around the animal shelter. “No signs of break in ” He thought. Then he looked at the paper scattered on the floor. One was a ripped piece of paper that had,“He takes care of his animals well. Especially the dog.” written on it and took a picture of it before I put it in a clear plastic bag. Then he picked up one of the other papers on the floor and it seem to be Nato, the animal shelter owner or Theo boss work.

“What nice handwriting.” Maki thought as he placed back the paper in it's original position.

Nato entered the room leaving the animals alone.

“Sir do you have any dogs in the shelter right now?” Maki asked

“No,all of them was adopted yesterday morning.” Nato replied.

Then he turned back to  Nato and said,“Anyways, sir, may I ask who have the keys to this place?”

“ I believe it is only two people other than me -Theo and my grandson, Daiki.” Nato answered

“ Have your granson ever been here?” Maki asked

“No,....never. I always ask him to come over and check it out but he keeps saying no.” Nato said sadly.

“Did you ever told him the location of this place?” Maki asked.

“Yes, I did. Alot of times actually.” he answered.

“Oh yeah, I wanted to ask what happened to the front door?” Maki asked

“Oh, that. The door was squeaking when I got this place so I tried to fix it but it made it worse and  you know that first hand.” Nato said

Maki recalled what had happened when he first arrived to the animal shelter. He was hurrying to the animal shelter because Nato had called him over because someone broke in and when Maki arrived, Maki quickly and gently pushed the door, not expecting the door to drag on the ground and he bounced into the door and fell on the floor.

“Ahem.... Anyways, can you call him over?” Maki asked nicely.

“Sure.” he answered, taking his phone from in his pocket.

After Nato called Daiki and told him to come over to the shop and they went to the first room where Daki was sitting down.

“ Oh, hello Theo, I am afraid we will not be have having work today” Nato said upon see Theo.

 “ I will stay so I could help you clean up the shop after the investigation” Theo replied.

A while later Daiki arrived and seeing the mess through the glass door, hurrily lift the door a little bit, opening it easily.
