Chapter 1: The party

Jax's POV

For several weeks, I’ve heard many people talking about the stupid party. I know that this is an annual party is supposed to renew some treaties, to make sure peace remains between species, helps companies talk about businesses ,and helps people find their mates.

However, I would've been fine at home and would prefer to stay away from people. I hate going to public or crowded places. I'm only here so that I won't ruin the image of a “ perfect family ” since my dad is 3rd in commend in the pack. Most people believe that I was adopted because I took the last name Walker after my biological mother. While my father, Esther, and Lilith took the last name Johnson.

In this world there are the pure bloods that are similar to royalty. The only pure bloods here is the Andersons, the Blacks, the Michelsons, the Marshall's, and the Knights. This year everyone was talking about how exciting the party was going to be because Ashmedai Black was going to be there. There were rumors that he was trying to find his mates so that he can complete the ceremony and become the alpha. Everyone was going crazy because this was the 1st time the all of the Three Black Princes ( Ashmedai, Levi, and Braxton) were going to attend the party.

A few days before the party my family and I went to go shopping for our gowns and tuxes. I decided to choose to go with all black well David, Esther, and Lilith chose to go with a purple matching family set. It was awful, I wanted no part of it so I left. We all came home only to find that they still got a set for me. I yelled that I didn't want it. After things die down, my father wanted to “talk” to me. Whenever he says he wants to “talk” it usually mean he would be me beat me until I agreed with whatever he wanted or until he was satisfied.

After he with my back a few times he asked “So…..have you had enough time to think about wearing this suit we got for you?”. I honestly didn't have the energy to argue so I just nodded. After he released me we both went to eat and acted as if nothing happened.

Esther interrupted the silence during dinner by asking me “Have you decided what to wear to the party Jax? ”. I replied “Yes, I think I chose a suit that is too black so I'd really like to wear the suit you guys got for me".8

Before the party David has been reviewing good behaviors, manners, etiquette, and a quick lesson of important people that were going attend the party. As the day of the party came, l saw nothing but people in over priced clothes and girls with enough makeup that could beat a clown. I honestly hope this party goes by quick.
