Chapter 3 : Makeovers and Haircuts pt 1

A servant lead the group towards the garden for lunch with everyone having light conversations. Liam was being constantly 'attacked' by Arthur's chit chat and Nectar giggled at how uncomfortable he seemed to be.

Athena glanced at Nectar who wasn't even making an effort to join the conversation she was having with Kira and clenched her red dress tightly \[ How am I supposed to humiliate her, if she won't even say anything? \]

Their lunch wasn't too elaborate and was quite warm. They had it in Eros' garden. Nectar ate her meal happily, even talking to Arthur and Liam once in a while. She was enjoying herself so much she didn't notice the two pair of eyes staring at her.

Though Eros was glad there wasn't a commotion, he felt something was off about Nectar. She seemed guarded and distant, and worse she was treating him like air. He was the emperor for God sake, how could someone ignore him ?

Athena on the other hand, was grinning from ear to ear. She'd planned to simply ruin Nectar's image in front of Kira and Arthur but now she would simply hurt her, if she was lucky, maybe cripple her.

Lunch was soon over and they sat with some digestion tea. Nectar was tired of sitting and needed some fresh air. She ended slipping away quietly and took a walk among the flowers.

They were a lot like the ones she'd seen in her second life and it made her nostalgic [ I should probably plant some in my courtyard later ] " We could put them next to your window ".

Nectar jumped but didn't fall. Patting her chest, she glared at Liam who was standing behind her, " Why can't you show up like a normal person "? Liam smiled " But that wouldn't scare you ". Nectar rolled her eyes at his comment, Liam spoke again " Are you sure you don't want a palace makeover "?

Nectar raised an eyebrow, " What "? Liam sighed " Still so forgetful. His majesty said you could renovate your palace however you like ". Nectar's eyes grew wide when she remembered and excitedly declared " Then I'm having a makeover ".

Liam seemed satisfied and they walked back to the others. Nectar took a mental picture of every flower she liked. She didn't really care for whatever was going on now with the others.

Nectar could see them now when she heard a cutting sound. Her head suddenly felt lighter, confused she turned around and realized that her back length hair was suddenly cut in half \[ That's right. Athena was trying to cripple me \]

Liam was already pointing his sword at the servant who has dropped his pruning scissors. The servant could barely breath and Nectar walked over to him, trying to calm him down, forcing him to look at her " Calm down Liam. I'm alright. Its just hair, it will grow back. Alright "?

[ In my first life, he managed to use that thing on my back and I couldn't walk properly for a while. Liam wasn't able to catch him either since he was so concerned about her ]

Liam's gaze softened and the servant could breathe now. Liam still pointed his sword at the servant's throat though, Athena was the first to get there, looking very horrified " Sister, what happened "? Arthur was next and he held unto Nectar's shoulders, " Are you okay "?

Nectar nodded as she looked up at him, " It's alright, just some hair ". Arthur saw the lump of hair on the floor and glared at the servant disapprovingly. Eros spoke up as he walked towards the group " What do you want to do with him "?

Nectar glanced at the servant and shrugged, " I'm not sure. Kill him maybe ". Athena gasped, covering her mouth "Don't you think that's a bit much sister "? Kira snorted " Tsk. Overreacting because of a lump of hair. Typical ".

Nectar pretended not to hear her and touched Athena's cheek, " You're right sister. I have overreacted ". Athena felt chills across her skin and felt like she was about to collapse so she nodded. Nectar turned to Arthur and Kira and bowed, " I'll excuse myself. I feel I've ruined this happy occasion for everyone ".

Nectar turned to leave when Eros' deep voice stopped her, " You still haven't said what you want done with him " . Nectar smiled softly as she began to walk, " Twenty lashes and sell him to a slaver ". Eros wasn't able to hide his surprise but Nectar didn't see it as she was already walking away dragging Liam with her.

Arthur wanted to go after her but Kira stopped him. Athena was still shivering [ Am I in trouble? ] and she had no idea why. Eros turned to the guards standing nearby, " You heard the empress. Deal with it ".

The servant struggled against the guards carrying him away "Forgive me please. It was an accident ". Eros wasn't even listening anymore and walked away " Mother. Father, we can finish this later. I've got work to do but Athena will keep you company ".
