Chapter 2 : Meeting his parents again

Nectar sat quietly in her seat with Liam standing close . Eros and Athena also had their right hand man and maid servant standing close as well [ So I shouldn't talk through out, then I have to do something about these scars ....]

Athena's voice snapped Nectar out of the thoughts she didn't realize was lost in, " My Empress, are you listening " ? Nectar nodded as she looked at, " What were you saying "? Athena looked worried, " I hope my presence isn't a bother. I could leave if otherwise ".

Nectar waved her off as she looked at her plate, " Unnecessary, your presence is a ray of sunshine. I'm lucky to be in its presence ". Nectar turned the other way, silent once more.

Eros was glad he didn't have to yell. Nectar was a bit bothersome sometimes but she was bearable. Athena on the other hand was clenching her first [ How dare she act all high and mighty? That's supposed to be me ]

Nectar was so lost in thought she didn't notice Athena glaring at her, Liam however was observant enough to send a drop of killing intent over. Small enough, no one else noticed but Athena and she paled instantly.

Just then the doors opened and a striking couple walked in. Though they had a few wrinkles, they both looked young and vibrant. The man had sleek healthy black hair with a few grey lines, a fuzzy beard and lazy red eyes while the woman standing next to him had flaming red curls and piercing blue eyes.

The man chuckled as he opened his arms wide for a hug, " How's my little hatchling doing " ? Eros sighed as he walked over, " Father, I told you not to call me that ". Arthur laughed again and pinched Eros' cheeks, " You look so cute when your upset ".

The lady spoke up then, smiling softly " Arthur, save the boy some face ". Arthur smiled and held her hand, " Alright Kira, but I just missed him so much ".

Nectar stifled a giggle as she watched their carefree banter unfold. She didn't have that kind of relationship with her parents in her first life which is exactly why she cherished it in her second one.

Nectar sighed as she felt nostalgia overcome her and Athena turned to her, concerned " My empress, are you alright? Do you need some rest "? Though she had a blank expression on her face, she nodded all the same.

Arthur signalled for her to come to his side and she hesitantly got up. Nectar could feel the tears gathering in her eyes as she walked. This man was one of the few people in this land that actually didn't hate her. He was warm and friendly but unfortunately he died in a ship accident three years later in her first life.

Nectar bowed low, " Greetings to Father Arthur and Mother Kira ". She could here the woman snicker but was suddenly pulled into a big warm hug. Arthur was laughing and patting her head, "Good child. I missed you so much, did you miss me "?

Nectar didn't know whether to cry or laugh, so she ended up doing both, laughing and crying into his clothes as she hugged him back, " I missed you more than you'll ever know Father ". Arthur smiled and they let go of each other.

Nectar bowed slightly to Kira who disregarded her greetings. Instead, she called Athena over. She bounded towards Kira and hugged her, " How has Mother Kira been doing "?

Kira patted her head, treating her like a child " Amazing, thank you for asking " . Nectar didn't bother with either of them and left Eros with Arthur. Nectar didn't even mind being a background character.

Liam thought she felt bad and whispered in her ear, " Could you tell me where my empress is "? Nectar raised an eyebrow, playing along with him " But I'm right here " . Liam pretended to be shocked, " I doubt it. My empress talks a lot and is not a crybaby ".Nectar playfully nudged him as she stifled a laugh, " Be serious for once, just once ".

Arthur noticed Liam in the corner of his eye and turned abruptly to Nectar who was now laughing, " And who is this dashing young man "? Liam stiffened as he tried to make a proper bow, " Did I interrupt something, your majesty "?

Arthur waved his hand as he walked towards him, " Nonsense. What's your name lad "? Liam seemed to have switched off so Nectar spoke for him, holding his arm " This is Liam, he is my knight aaaaall the way from Actso ".

Arthur smiled as he stood in front of them " Nice to meet you Liam, it's good Nectar won't be alone here. But I didn't see you at the wedding ". Nectar held unto his arm and leaned on it with a smile on her face, " He was on a mission so he came about a month ago ".

Arthur smiled and clasped hands with Liam, " Then welcome to Lishflour Liam. I hope to see more of you ". Liam smiled and shook his hand firmly, " Of course sire ".
