Episode 15

Nina cried as much as she could, her mother knocked on the door without getting a response. Nina only wants her best friend to console her, only Alonzo knows how much it hurt to be a fool. When he arrived, he was her first acquaintance, and they became friends immediately, and obviously, they shared their love sorrows with each other.

"Nina, stop crying, you're going to ruin those beautiful eyes if you keep this up," Alonzo said softly, trying to imagine what has happened and contemplating hurting Maximiliano if he took advantage of her or harmed her.

Nina blew her nose, distancing herself from Alonzo, and he took the opportunity to bring her some tissues, which she used to wipe her face.

Nina told him what had happened while Alonzo remained frozen, unable to believe that something really had occurred. He was furious, but even though he hated Max for being an idiot, he felt that there was more to the situation than meets the eye.

Alonzo laid her down to sleep; she looked exhausted both physically and emotionally. He called Camila to explain the situation, and the girl on the other end of the phone nearly had a heart attack but knew what she had to do.

Alonzo went out to talk to Nina's parents; this was the last straw. Their daughter was doing them a favor, and they couldn't protect her on her first night.

Alonzo shared what he knew and reproached their lack of protection. Both parents were surprised by the young man's reproach as the Cannat family arrived at the mansion, informed about the strange situation.

Upon learning what was happening, Alexander spoke with his beloved wife, who looked at him intently, a hint of amusement appearing on her face, leaving her husband confused.

Alicia looked at her husband and decided to explain the situation.

"My love, last night I realized that Raquel Miche was up to something. So I sent someone to investigate, and what I found out was quite despicable.

"That bastard Hugo spiked the drinks of the newlyweds with aphrodisiacs. That's when I realized what was going on. I saw Nina in a terrible state, and your little brother was equally unwell. The plan was for Hugo's friends to take Max to his home as a married man so that Raquel could sleep with him. That snake knew she couldn't have him that night. Nina had marked her territory unknowingly, and Maximiliano was keeping a close eye on her.

"She could only take him and spend the night with him that way. Hugo had another mission, to take Nina to a well-known five-star hotel and take advantage of her vulnerable state.

"At first, I thought it was a joke or something, until my gossip journalist friends called me. They told me they were asked to go to Royal Metropolitana as there was juicy news regarding Maximiliano Cannat's new wife. That's when I realized what her game was. That serpent was going to ruin Nina's reputation and create an even bigger rift between them.

"But it doesn't end there. Another group called me to say that they were summoned to the mansion at Glorieta, the place the grandfather gave Max for their wedding. They were supposed to pay attention to who left early in the morning from that place. Clearly, Raquel wanted to make it clear that she spent the night with the newlywed groom, and his wife was sleeping with someone else in a hotel. That would be a hard blow to the intentions of appeasing the shareholders, and it could even break the agreement," Alicia calmly explained, while Alexander looked at her stupefied. Alicia had been a renowned model before marrying him, and all her friends in the entertainment industry respected her as she had always been genuine and friendly with everyone.

"Why didn't you tell me? I would have done something, but how did you manage to foil their plans?" Alexander asked, a bit scared by his wife's cunning.

Well, I sent someone to ruin that bitch's car and called the mansion guards, they weren't supposed to let that whore in under any circumstances. Then I intercepted Hugo, who was already taking a completely drugged Nina, and our guards gave him a beating. Your cousin Nicol helped me take Nina to the Glorieta. What happened between them is another story, but today on gossip platforms, Max was seen leaving his house and later, his beautiful wife was seen. No one can say they weren't together, " said Alicia nonchalantly.

"But Alicia, Nina is devastated by what has happened with Max. Can you imagine how awful she must feel in this situation?" said a frustrated Alexander. He can't believe that his wife put them in the same house, same room, and the same bed.

"What I imagine is how Nina would have felt waking up in a hotel room with Hugo and the press tearing her apart, accusing her of being a whore."

"You know I don't think clearly when it comes to Raquel. That bitch is the worst, and it still bothers me to see her around your family after everything. I don't understand why she's still close to you," said Alicia as she took a sip of her tea. She doesn't regret anything, although she feels sorry for Nina. But she still believes she chose the lesser evil.
