Nina looked at him amused, but anger and disgust could be seen in every pore of her being. Maximiliano only clenched his jaw, enduring the pain inflicted by his now younger wife, who is like a cornered tiger.
Maximiliano let her go, but he held her wrist tightly to lead her to the bridal table where he sat by her side, trying to overcome the pain in his foot with sighs. He refused to limp out of pride.
The relatives watched the situation with amusement; it seemed that the beautiful Nina was a perfect match for Maximiliano Cannat.
Raquel noticed the situation and was indignant. She spoke with some friends who are closer to her than Max and planned how to prevent this situation from escalating.
The party continued without incident, and Maximiliano did not leave Nina's side for a moment. He would not allow her to be near that boy she used to date, who now buzzes around his wife like a fly.
The toast hour arrived, and the parents of the bride and groom gave their sincere words. They hoped that they would live in peace without any setbacks while the couple absentmindedly drank their glasses. Nina truly hoped that things wouldn't escalate, but things seldom go as one hopes.

The next day, Nina opened her eyes, trying to adjust to the light. Suddenly, a headache hit her, putting her in a bad mood. She tried to remember the reason for her headache but couldn't recall much. Her memory was clear up to the toast, after which everything became confusing and blurred in her mind, racing at full speed until...
"Damn, this headache is killing me," the man's thick and guttural voice filled the room, causing panic in Nina.
Nina turned, searching for the voice, and saw Maximiliano Cannat lying naked beside her. Before she could scream, Nina looked down at herself, lifting the sheet, and realized she was equally naked. Panic, anger, annoyance, and indignation overwhelmed her.
"You damn idiot... What the hell did you do? How am I here? How are you here?" she shouted while covering herself with the sheets as much as possible. Then, she blinked, realizing something.
"Where the hell am I?" Nina said as she got off the bed, feeling sore all over. She couldn't make sense of anything, while the man observed her with a furrowed brow.
Maximiliano noticed his boxers and got off the bed to put them on before surveying the place. He was now more lucid.
"It's the mansion my grandfather gave me for marrying your sister. It seems like we spent our wedding night together. Now, tell me, what did you do to end up in my bed?" the man said with the coldness of the South Pole while Nina stared at him indignantly, on the verge of exploding.
"What are you talking about, you damn bastard? Who wants to get into your filthy bed? I'd rather die than let you touch me, you bastard. You did something so I would end up in your bed. I don't remember anything. Don't touch me again. Don't come near me. You've already broken one of the clauses in the contract. You shouldn't touch me. Don't touch me again in your life," Nina raged, storming off to the bathroom. She was so furious that she wanted to kill him at that moment, while Max looked around, confused. He didn't know what had happened either.
Maximiliano called his assistant at that moment; he needed to know what was going on. He dressed in casual clothes and left the place, feeling upset. Not only had he had relations with Nina without remembering anything, but her harsh words stung him. It seemed she would prefer to die rather than have any kind of intimate relationship with him.
Max arrived at his office; although it was Saturday, he worked in the mornings. Marcos approached him, slightly puzzled by what Nina had told him earlier.
"Boss Cannat, I remember you both toasted, but then your friends were with you. After that, I didn't see you or Miss Nina anymore. We all thought you had left the party. Has something happened?" Marco asked nervously. Maximiliano was furious; Nina's words echoed in his head like a drum, each insult making him angrier and angrier.
Maximiliano nodded and called his best friend Leonel; he needed to know something. This situation was exceedingly strange.
Nina took a long, bitter shower, scrubbing herself so vigorously that her delicate skin turned red. Indignant, she emerged with puffy eyes from all the crying. Failing to find him, she searched for something to wear. Her sister's wedding dress lay in tatters, while she desperately tried to recall what happened, but nothing came to mind.
Disgusted, Nina came across Maximiliano's clothes. Having no other option, she reluctantly picked one of his t-shirts and a pair of his shorts. She put on the outfit, attempting to adjust it to her petite frame. She wasn't tall, and people often commented on it, saying that the best perfumes come in small bottles and the most lethal poisons do too.
Nana Gloria and the rest of the household staff arrived at the scene. They had been hired to attend to the young couple, but despite signing a contract, the shareholders weren't satisfied with that alone and closely monitored the proximity of both families.
The older woman, Nana Gloria, entered the room to find the beautiful girl storming out furiously. She looked at her disapprovingly, as she had decorated and prepared that villa with Celia in mind, and the change of bride did not sit well with her. She knew about Nina's feelings for Max before, so she began to suspect that this girl had done something to remove her sister from the picture.
