Episode 9

Celia sighed deeply, she needed to gather courage. She would have to be strong for what was to come. She knew there would be a great upheaval, but she couldn't do anything more.

In the room, when they were alone, Alonzo looked at her with amusement.

"Nina, your mother wants to kill me every time she sees me, that brother-in-law of yours stabs me with his gaze a couple of times, and your sister doesn't seem like such a bad person," Alonzo said as he collapsed onto the bed.

"Al, you don't really know what they're like, just a bunch of hypocrites. Just keep being my fake boyfriend, and they'll calm down after a few hours," Nina said while putting away her things in her dresser.

"Alright, but I want you to introduce me to your friend, Camila. She's very beautiful; her pictures are so natural and barely filtered, yet she looks gorgeous. You know that's the only reason I came," Alonzo said with a smile. He wouldn't leave without meeting the beauty who had lured him into this trip.

After Nina's arrival, everyone continued with the preparations. The wedding would take place the next day. Mayra, a good friend of Celia's, would be her maid of honor since Nina had adamantly refused that role. The discomfort between the sisters was evident, and both families had noticed it.

That night, there would be separate bachelor and bachelorette parties for Max and Celia, respectively. Nina went at the urging of her mother who only wanted them to talk again as they used to.

At the party, Nina was distracted and not paying attention to the celebration while Celia laughed at her friends' antics.

When the challenges came, Nina rolled her eyes as she found them quite childish. But regardless, she tried to participate. Her cousin Nicol scolded her for her attitude, telling her that if she didn't want to be there, she should leave, and Nicol would tell Brenda that she had enjoyed herself without moving from her spot.

Then came the moment when it was Nina's turn for a challenge, and she couldn't refuse.

CHALLENGE: You must kiss the first stranger you encounter when you leave the bar.

Nina smiled, as she wasn't exactly a prude, and arrogantly headed towards the exit. Without caring about anything, she opened the door ready to pounce on the first person she encountered. She only saw the figure and threw herself at it, putting her lips on her victim's. She closed her eyes, not wanting to see the person's face. It didn't matter if they were ugly, handsome, old, or young. It was just a dare, nothing more.

After a few seconds, she felt a strong arm wrap around her waist, and a large hand grasped her nape. A bite on her lip made her open her mouth, feeling the intrusive tongue ravage her mouth.

Nina felt like she was losing control. Her victim was taking advantage of the situation, kissing her shamelessly and full of lust. They left nothing to the imagination until she heard a scream.

"Oh God, Nina, not him..." the voice was Nicol's, making her open her eyes and come face to face with Maximiliano Cannat's dark, arrogant eyes.

Nina immediately separated herself and struggled to move away, while Max looked at her slightly puzzled.

"Let me go," Nina said through clenched teeth, feeling so embarrassed. He had taken advantage to give her a big kiss in front of everyone, not caring that his future wife was present.

"You jumped on me and kissed me. Now you want me to let you go?" Max said, furrowing his brow. She just noticed that he had been drinking and was somewhat drunk, or maybe very drunk, and might not remember this later.

"Max, let her go. It was just a dare. She probably didn't realize it was you," Celia said as she approached her fiancé. Nina managed to free herself from his grip.

Nina turned around and saw Alonzo in the group, raising his eyebrows playfully, leaving her defenseless. Alonzo decided to rescue his friend; after all, he was her boyfriend.

"Nina, when you do these challenges, you must consider the person, as you could come across a pervert or a universal idiot. It's better for us to leave. The boyfriend came to pick up the girlfriend, and I think she's going to dump him again," Alonzo said with a smile as he takes her hand to lead her back. He knows that his friend must want the ground to swallow her up.

Nina clumsily nodded and left without giving Max or Celia a single glance. She would never let them see how embarrassed and upset she is for having been so foolish.
