Promise

A year passed.

The three of us got closer.

I found out my father casted a magic spell to turn me into a kid in order to go hiding.

Celeste undid the curse as she saw no danger anymore.

"Asterion!" Celeste shouted.

'3 years have passed and she didn't even know my feelings for her. How cruel.' Asterion thought. He stared at Celeste with longing eyes.

"What's wrong?" Celeste tilted her head.

"What are you here for, Celeste?" Asterion asked.

Celeste sighed. "How cold" She mumbled.

"I'm here to give this to you!" Celeste handed a bread.

"A bread?" Asterion was confused.

"Why? What's wrong with it?" Celeste asked.

"Eat" Celeste smiled.

"But that's your-" Asterion wasnt even able to finish his sentence.

"It's not mine" Celeste denied and stuffed the bread on Asterion's mouth.

Asterion has no choice but to swallow it.

"Why did you give me that?" Asterion asked.

"Because you look hungry" Celeste smiled.

'Seriously.....' Asterion sighed on this thoughts.

"Don't do that again" Asterion mumbled.

"Huh? Why?" Celeste titled her head.

'Is he angry?' Celeste thought.

Asterion turned and stopped.

"Because I care for you" Asterion mumbled.

Celeste was frozen. She was flustered by his words.

"W-what?" Celeste was surprised.

Asterion came back to his senses and realized what he just said.

"Fo-forget it!" Asterion shouted and ran away.

'I must be crazy' Asterion's face was red.

Celeste who was left alone can't help but feel embarrassed.

"He cares for m-" Celeste mumbled with her face red. She was surprised when a man's voice came up.

"Who cares for you?" Chronos asked.

"You surprised me brother!" Celeste shouted.

"Are you secretly dating someone?" Chronos asked. He is insecure. There's no way someone can steal his sister away from him.

'Me.... dating asterion.... Wait What am I saying?!' Celeste was flustered by her own thoughts.

"H-how can that be? there's nothing like tha-" Celeste Hurriedly responded. Her being flustered is written all over her face. She stopped when she realized.

'Why am I denying it? Wait! We're not even dating!' Celeste was much more flustered when she said those in her thoughts.

"Sigh. I knew it. You'll leave me behind, sis" Chronos sighed. He looked a bit lonely.

Celeste stared at the disappointed face of Chronos and can't hold it in anymore.

She hugged chronos and closed her eyes.

"I'm not dating someone! I'll grow old with you brother!" Celeste shouted.

Chronos chuckled after hearing that.

"Really... You promise?" Chronos asked.

"Ye-yeah" Celeste somehow thought she just stepped on a landmine.

Chronos smiled and left.

A week after.....

"Celeste" Asterion called as he saw Celeste sitting on a tree from afar.

"Hmm?" Celeste asked. She immediately jumped down the tree.

"Asterion!!!" Celeste smiled. She was excited to see asterion calling for her first. It is the First time!

"Ive been wanting to ask you..." Asterion pressed his lips and fidgeted his fingers.

"When will I see your face?" Asterion asked. All these years, Celeste wore a fox mask.

Celeste smiled bitterly.

"If a human sees my face, I'll disappear." Celeste smiled.

Asterion was taken aback by her words.

Days after...

Asterion can't help but feel insecure by the words Celeste said.

"Why are you pacing back and forth? it's annoying" Chronos asked exasperatedly.

"Chronos.... Is it true that Celeste will disappear if a human sees her face?" Asterion asked.

Chronos froze.

He gritted his teeth.

"You shouldn't be asking that question" Chronos seriously said and left.

He felt a bit hurt.

"Even him...." Asterion mumbled.

Asterion left the house to have some fresh air.

He wandered through the forest where Celeste and him first met.

He looked at the exact spot where Celeste found him.

He was surprised when a girl tapped his shoulders.

"Asterion?" Celeste asked.

Droplets started to pour down.

Asterion grabbed Celeste's hands and pulled her to a place where they will not get wet.

"Celeste" Asterion called.

"What?" Celeste asked.

"Promise me.... that you will not disappear. that I will never get to see your face. that you'll always stay by my side" Asterion looked at Celeste with tears.

Celeste was taken aback.

"I promise" Celeste smiled.

Asterion's gaze showed affection for Celeste.

Celeste knew it a long time ago.

She knew that asterion has special feelings for her. Yet she chose to avoid his feelings.

"That's great" Asterion smiled. He is assured.

'I shouldn't have been so assured that time'
