Chapter 4 : Pain, Longing and Loneliness

All the stylist and make-up artist in the room were all in awe as soon as Azalea came out after wearing her gown..

The mermaid cut navy blue gown accentuates all her perfect curves and her perfectly flawlessly white skin is glowing because of the diamonds in her gown..

Azalea look at herself in the mirror and a playful smirk appeared on her natural reddish lips, her stunning looks suits the event tonight, the start of her revenge..

She heard a sudden knock on the door, one of the make-up artist opened it and Azalea stiffened when she saw who it was..

It's no other than her eldest brother, Alexus Kale Devon and behind him are the twins, her third and fourth brother, Ryzen Jacob and Raven Jules Devon..

"Iris!!!" the twins exclaimed happily and run to her, hugging her tightly..

She can feel it, their hot tears are falling on her bare shoulders non-stop, her heart aches, she knew that they were also reborn just like her and she's thankful for that..

"Stop it you two, you're making her feel uncomfortable.." Alexus said seriously but deep inside, he wants to join them badly..

"Let them be older brother.. I missed them too, can you guys please give us a moment alone?!" Azalea ask and everyone nods before they went out of the room..

As soon as the door closed, Azalea hugged her brothers back and let her tears fall, she won't hide anything from them in this life..

"I'm sorry, please forgive me.." Azalea said painfully, Alexus and the twins stiffened when they heard that..

"Can you guys forgive me?! I didn't even manage to save anyone of you.. I just watched there hopelessly while you guys are being tortured and killed right in front of me.. I have the power to protect all of you but I didn't even use that.. Forgive me brothers.." Azalea said and kneeled in front of them..

Alexus can't take it anymore and let his tears fall, their poor little sister witnessed how they died miserably, the pain she went through on their last life was unbearable but here she is, begging for their forgiveness..

"Please princess don't do this, If there's anyone who should be begging for forgiveness, it should be us.." Alexus said while hugging the sister that did everything in her power just to save them..

"Elder brother is right, we should be the one asking for your forgiveness, the moment we woke up and realize that we were granted a second chance, we immediately want to see you.." Raven said and kneeled down in front of her too..

"This life, we will only dedicate it to protect you Iris, please give us a chance to do our duty as your older brothers.." Ryzen said and kneeled down beside his twin brother..

Azalea broke down and hugged her brothers tightly, she will protect them at all cost, she won't let anything to happen to them in this lifetime..

A man were standing outside the room the whole time with tear stained face, he's happy that he's not the only one who were reborn, even her brothers and their only sister were also reborn..

But to protect them, he decided to be the bad guy in this life too, he will still choose to be a doting and loving older brother to that woman who killed them..

This is the decision he made as soon as he woke up from that nightmare and he will do anything in his power just to protect his family and especially, Iris, who still loves them even though they treated her badly..

The party already started and the Old De Rossi couple are now having a face to face conversation with their daughter and son-in-law which is, Azalea's bioligical parents..

Their relationship turned sour the moment they abandoned Azalea, the Old couple stopped having contact with them alone but they still stayed in touch with their Grandchildren..

"Mom, Dad, I hope that you're both well in these past few years that I'm gone.." Moira said with a loving smile..

"We're good as long as you stop bothering us.." the Old Master Angelo said that shocked her..

"Father, we know that it's our fault and we're here now to set things right.." General Aragon Devon said sadly that made the old couple feel disgusted..

"We aren't that old yet General Devon.. Do you really think that we don't know the real reason why you're here?!" Old Master said coldly..

"Looks like becoming a politician is very important to you, having a rumor flying around that you have abandoned your own biological daughter would surely ruined your campaign.. You are not here to set things right, you just want to clean your name by using our beloved Granddaughter as your cleaning material.." Old Madame Rosalie De Rossi said with contempt..

"Grandma, Grandpa, please don't say that to Mom and Dad, they are sincerely here to get older sister.." a soft and melodious voice said sadly but the old couple only felt disgusted..

"Young Lady, we only have one Granddaughter and it wasn't you so please refrain yourself from calling us that way, we don't deserve it.." the old Master said coldly and everyone heard it..

They are now whispering and pointing at her with a mocking smile on their lips, Sheena bit her lip so hard and cursed the old jeezer in front of her..

"My, my~ does she really think that the De Rossi will accept her just like that?! What an ambitious girl.."

"She is acting like she's a big shot since she arrived but who doesn't know about her secrets.."

"That is why it's hard for everyone to adopt today, coz they don't know when will that adopted child would bite the hand that feeds her.."

Hearing those words made Sheena to bit her lower lip harder until she can taste her own blood..

"Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen.." the host greeted and everyone turn their heads towards the host..

He's standing at the top of the grand staircase, his handsome face is quiet eye-catching and a lot of young Ladies wants to know him..

The host is no other than Vin, his Young Madame ask him to do it and he also doesn't want anyone to host her Young Madame's birthday party other than himself and aside from that, he had a mission tonight..

"First of all, our Master and Madame would like to thank everyone who came tonight to celebrate the 19th birthday of our beloved Young Lady.. This is a very special day for us and I hope that everyone will enjoy tonight.." he said with a small smile and a few ladies can't help but to swoon over him..

"Now, we are proud to present to you.. The only Princess of the De Rossi family, our beloved Young Lady, Lady Azalea Iris De Rossi along with her knights, Mr. Shion Baimaster, Mr. Jaze Thimothy Montgomery, Ms. Hera gail Alegre, Mr. Devin James Smith, Mr. Jared Mikail Rogers, Mr. Hughes Kyle Stevens, Ms. Emerald Kang and Ms. Aria Matsunaga.." Vin announced that startled everyone even the Devons..

The handsome young man who had been watching quietly in a corner smirked as soon as he saw the startled look on everyone's face..

Who wouldn't?! Everyone knew those names that the host called out, they are not just the sons and daughters from the wealthy families, they are also the youngest Lieutenant Colonels in history..

A soft instrumental music started playing and the huge wooden double-door at the top opened, everyone are waiting patiently, holding their breathes..

The young Lieutenant Colonels came out one by one, they are wearing their military uniform but they were all smiling happily..

They lined up on the stairs and turn their heads to the door, just like what the real knights would do once they are going to welcome their Empress..

The music changed into waltz and the handsome young man's brow raised when he saw that the host is already wearing an expensive suit and walking towards the opened door..

He held out his hand and a pair of flawlessly white hand accepted it, they started walking and the young man's breath hitched as soon as he saw the beautiful woman who came out of the door..

There's a sudden painful pang on his chest that made him feel weak, he can feel his heart beating wildly inside his chest..

There's a sudden feeling of loneliness and longing in his heart, he wants to hold her badly, he can't breathe from the pain he's feeling right now..

"My Lord?! What's wrong?!" the man beside him ask worriedly..

"I--I don't know..." the young man said while breathing heavily..

"M--My Lord.. Y--You're crying?!" the man said in shock..

The Young man immediately touches his face, it's wet and his tears keeps on falling, he looked back at the young woman and there it is again, the pain, loneliness and longing..

"Why?! Why am I feeling this way towards you?! Who are you?!" the young man said to himself while looking at Azalea painfully..
