The Room

I opened my eyes in shock, I can't make a noise, gasping for air. I got on my hands and knees coughing my guts out, gasping for air between each cough. I finally stopped I sat back up leaning my head against the wall. "Good God," I said letting out a big sigh. I need to collect myself, I started looking around the room, there is a big black screen on the wall, definitely a 2 way mirror, and there is a huge metal door, and the rest gray concrete. And a boy, I think I recognize him, well he is all the way across the room so I can't tell. I leaned my head back to the concrete again but this time closing my eyes with a brief sigh escaping my mouth.

"Hi," I heard a voice from a cross the room. It was the boys voice, I looked over turning my head slightly, "Hi," I said with barely any breath left in me. As I turned my head back the boy started getting up and walking over to me "M?!?" He said with some shock in his voice, I turned to look back at him and was shocked to see Tony. "TONY!?!" I said with even more shock in my voice.

Tony is a kid that I go to school with, we are very good friends but he is from the rich side of town so I have no idea how he got here. I know how I got here there is no police on either side but on the poor side of town where I live there is alot of crime. It is much cheaper than living on the rich side of town, me and my mom had to move after my dad died.

"Need help up," I was shot out of my thoughts and saw Tony standing over me with his nice happy grin that he always has on with me. "Yeah thanks," I said while grabbing his hand and pulling myself up from the spot I was just sitting in. "How did we get here," Tony said to me while looking around the room. "I should be asking you that," I replied. "Well it's sorta a long story," he looked at me nervously. "I'm all ears," I replied looking at him curiously. He sighed then started explaining:

"It was a foggy night out, I was still in the school studying for the midterm exam. I was in the library until I saw the time, it had to be at least 10pm, so I gathered all my stuff in my back pack and left. It was very dark out and very hard to see anything, but I wanted to stop by to say hi to you," his face turned a pinky tone as he looked back at me. "So while I was walking down the road on your side of town there was a big white van that pulled up next to me. So I started walking faster and faster until I came to a full sprint, I had to be still 15 minutes away from your house because it's on the outskirts of town. I started to slow down thinking I lost the van and I turned around to see if it was still there and this huge guy wearing all black came behind me the and he hit me on the neck the last thing a saw was the white van there as my head hit the ground."

He then paused for a second and looked down at me with worrisome eyes, "what happened to you." I looked at him and walked forward to give him a tight hug. He seemed shocked at first then he wrapped his arms around me. "What happened to me I feel is a longer story," I then backed up from his embrace, "but I'll tell you."

"I got home late that night and my mom got mad at me," I paused, how did Tony recognize me with all the cuts and the bruise on my face? "She didn't make dinner so I went out on my bike to get pizza and a black van came up beside me. I didn't think much of it at the time, then I had to cross a crosswalk and the black van stopped on the crosswalk so I got off my bike and walked around it. Then I heard the van door open and I felt a sharp pain on the side on my neck and nothing."

We paused there thinking about what happened to each other. Both wondering why it happened to us, wondering if there's a reason it happened. Because our stories are similar and that it wouldn't just happen to two random people, especially ones that know each other. "Wow," he said breaking the silence. "Wow what, are you thinking the same thing that I am," I replied back with some worry in my voice. "I..." He started but was interrupted by a screeching on an intercom in the room.

We both looked up trying to find where the screech came from. "Helloooo...." a voice said. Tony leaned over to me and said, "his voice is creepy." And I agreed the guys voice sounded like he could eat a school full of children. "Tony Chelomburg and..... Sylvia Minclare, WELCOME," The voice continued. Tony leaned over to me again, "who is Sylvia?" "I have no idea," I replied honestly. The voice came on again, "Oh you don't know who Sylvia is I'm guessing, well M's real birth given name is Sylvia Minclare." My eyes opened wide and I looked over at Tony and he looked very shocked as well. SCREECH. The mic came on again, "I guess you're wondering why you're here, I would love to introduce a very close friend of mine. He loves being introduced to new people, especially ones with alot of.... let's say potential. AaaHahahahHa........"

I heard big footsteps approaching the door. "Good God," I said while my eyes opened wide in fear. I looked over at Tony and he didn't look any better than I did. Thud, THUD ThuD...
