The Kid And The Kidnapper

The Kid And The Kidnapper

Dark Road

The thick mist loomed in the air, you could taste it, and the slight breeze hitting my face, it was refreshing a way. It was dark out the mist made it worse, I could barely see, the flickering light barley laminated the sidewalk. "I don't want to go home, I hate having to deal with my mom," I whispered to myself, a heavy sigh escaped my mouth.

Kids at school just call me M. My mom never gave me a name she just calls me kid, not very fitting now, I'm about to turn 14, my birthday is in a month, December 5th 2018. But did I really ever have a birthday, my mom never celebrated my birthday or anything for that matter I was just there. I don't have any other family, my dad left when he found out mom was having a baby girl and my mom always hated me, she never says I love you she never hugs me she barley touches me.Well, I'm almost home don't have anywhere else to go.

Breath in and out, I opened the door and long haunting creak following. Guess being sneaky is out of the question. "Hi mom," I said in a deep tone looking down to avoid eye contact. While trying to run up the stairs as fast as I could but no luck. "KID COME BACK DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW!!!" Great, now I have to talk to her. As I made my way down the creaky steps I could feel her cold eyes staring at me. I tried to plaster a smile on, "Yes," I asked in the nicest tone I could muster after my horrible day at school. "Why are you smiling like your being forced to? Get over here now." Why is she so harsh. "Yes ma'am?" She reached for my face and yanked my ear down hard I howled in pain and cluched my ear after she let go. "Wimp. Why are you home so late you should have been here an hour ago." I snarkily replied, "Why what happened an hour ago?" She then got up from her chair and walked over to me she raised her hand and slaped me across the face. I hit the ground with a big thud. As I slowly got up from the floor clutching my cheek she said, "Say something like that again I'll give you something to be sorry about."

I finally stood up, she was much taller than me and bigger than me to, I'm not to small but as a teenage girl she has me. I'm not saying I'm short I'm average hight I'm about 5 5' long brown hair, hazle eyes, my mom is alot lighter than me though she could be a buff ghost but people mistake us for sisters. To think about it my mom looks alot younger than she is actually is and people say I look 16. I then looked at her eyes as I finished getting up, just as cold, dead and lifeless as ever. I simply walked past her and went to my room upstairs.

As I walked in my room I went into my bathroom to check the damage, "GOOD GOD?!?" I looked at my face and I had a huge bruise on my cheek and the other side of my face was all cut up from the old busted up wood floor. I disinfected the wounds and washed my face. I let out a heavy sigh looking at my face in the mirror, I turned off the water and got all ready for bed. I didn't feel like taking a shower, but after I was done getting ready I went back downstairs. "Anything for dinner," I asked my mom while walking down the creaky steps. Who am I kidding she probably didn't make anything like always. And when I finally got in the kitchen, big shocker there was no food. My mom looked up from her magazine at me from the couch, and I looked back with a bit of fear in my eyes slowly taking a small step back.

"Well?" She asked me, looking me up and down. I was blatantly confused and looked at her. "Well what," I finally asked back after the brief moment of silence. She then scoffed and rolled her eyes "Well are you going to get anything," she said in a rude snappier tone. "I wasn't planning on it," I replied with a hint of sarcasm in my voice. "Well good now you are, there is money in my room and if I find more than $20 missing I will hunt you down and kill you myself. Capeesh?" Now I have to go get food for her great. "Capeesh."

I went back upstairs to now get ready to get some food but I didn't have to do much, I just changed into some sweatpants and a sweatshirt. I grabbed the $20 off my mom's night stand and went outside, you could still smell the mist that loomed there earlier that night. I hopped on my bike and went on my marry way. As I was riding down the sidewalk a black van pulled up beside me. I didn't trust it but then again I didn't trust anything, so I didn't think to much of it, the pizza place was just ten minutes away so I thought I was fine for the time being.

I then put in my ear buds, and started humming the beet of the song. I was just about 5 minutes away when the van came to a dead stop on a crosswalk that I had to cross. I signaled the driver to keep moving but they didn't so I got off my bike, took out my ear buds and walked behind the van with my bike, I didn't trust it not one bit.

I got to the other side just fine but before I could get back on my bike the van came over to me and I heard the van door open...
