Chapter 7- Time skip

It was finally the end of the school year. it was a long and boring year for Damien, it was most likely a waste of time for him. It was tradition that after the written exams there is going to be a test of strength that is a battle between the students but not all as they are thousands of students so only the top 100 get to fight at the tournament because they don't need just strength but also brain so you have to be among the top hundred to be able to become a royal guard.

All the students in the school are all studying hard for the exams as they wanted to be in the top 100 so they can become royal guards making everyone serious even the playful ones became serious as they wanted to not repeat again. It was a peaceful time of the year for the teachers as the students are usually serious during this period but some dullards will always be stupid and disobey because they fill they have the they are most why the school rule was changed so that even if you are strong you won't just get a free pass. Damien and his roommate Rob were in their room reading Damien who didn't need it but did it anyway so that it won't look suspicious if he passed the exams.

The exam day has finally arrived the school is so quiet as they wrote the exams. In Damien class room the question are being checked as Damien received one he couldn't help but smile as the question are even too simple for kindergarten student he finished in five minutes although they had an hour to do so.

The exams are over and the results came in with Damien ranking first he went to check, seriously I came first i was going for between tenth to twentieth guess I have to manage what I got. Rob who was by his side started sulking which Damien noticed making ask what wrong he said to rob. I came number hundred in the exams if I had gone a little bit below i would have had to repeat my parents would have been so disappointed he said trying to hold in the cry threatening to come by t only the fact that a lot of students are there that stopped him from doing so. Hey don't be sad at least you got into the top hundred rank even if you got the hundredth position which is almost the same as failing the main point is that you got to the last stage of the exams do you know how many people wish to be you Damien said trying to console him. That easy for you to say you came first in the exams Rob replied. It not your fault that I'm smarter than you and you just utterly stupid and lack the brain power to comprehend a lot of things Damien said. Now I don't get whether you are trying to console or insult me Rob replied. Non of the above I was just stating true facts of life but if it made you feel hurt it alright their is this saying that says the truth is bitter Damien said with a straight face. It alright I should not have expected anything from you let's go back to our room I want to cry in peace and also train he said as they started walking away trying to get through the crowd of people who were also trying to check their results.

Back at the dorm of the boys started training more like Rob was being beat up by Damien after some hours of beating Rob went back to his bed to sulk and Damien was thinking of ways to help improve Rob fighting skill as he really do not possess an attack ability it was more of a stealth ability of he had a weapon and could place a sneak attack on his opponent but where do I get the weapon he did not have much money to buy one so he just decided to venture into the market to see what he can get for him. He put on a cloak as it they were not allowed to go out without permission he secretly left the dorms as to not alert any teacher.

At the market Damien was wandering around to see where he could get quality materials from at a low price. When he caught sight of a gambling house and decided to see to see what they are doing he got there and they were playing a game of cards and he figured out that one of the gamblers was cheating which is why he was winning so after learning the gambler trick he figured out a way to counter it. After the game was finished the judge asked if anyone wanted to bet against him but no one said anything as they did not want to lose their money then Damien spoke up and I would like to try. Everyone turned to stare at Damien as he was Dearing enough to go up against the undefeated champion some said he such a fool for going against the undefeated champion while someone just praised him for being brave enough to go against him. Damien was trying to scan the place to see if he would find anyone around from his school as gambling was not allowed to gamble he did not want to get into trouble. He sat down to at the gambling table and was greeted by the other gambler. You seem pretty young are you sure you want to play cause if you lose I'm not going to give you back your money and I also don't want you going to cry to your mommy like the child you are the other gambler trashed talked Damien. You do have a big mouth hope you can put your money where your money is you son of a b***** Damien replied. You really are a cocky little brat I bet all my money it will be fun when you lose I want to see if you will still be able to talk I bet ten thousand gravels the gambler said. You talk like you have all the money in the world okay then ten thousand gravels it is hope you don't cry when you lose because I feel it going to be embarrassing for full grown a** man like you to be crying so no more chitchat the money is set so let's start playing Damien said.
