I'm currently sitting at my desk, reading a book and holding a pen. "This has nothing to do with the pen!" I said, biting my thumb and releasing the grip of the pen.
Of course, this book is about the anatomy of supernatural creatures, so I'm being silly! Of course, the pen I'm holding has no significance.
Why am I making such a fool of myself?
I bury my head in the book, hmmm...the scent, that's right up my alley. When I turn my head to the side, the pen begins to shine once more. Because of the strong wind, the letters began to change, and my window blew open. I took a few steps back, and it started to cool down.
The pen began to shine, and when I lifted it up, I could see that I could read what was written on it.
"For the sake of everyone's glory."
What exactly is this?
"Merlin's magical item chooses a new guardian at long last."
Hearing a voice in my room boosts my rate quickly. "I have a broom and I'm not scared to use it!" I exclaimed as I took the broom from beside my door and pointed it in every direction.
"Hello, my name is-"
I screamed and was going to smack it with the broom because of the surprise. I suddenly recall the possibility of breaking its wings. I quickly grab the glass from my desk and catch it with it. I put it on my desk and cover it with a book so it can't get away.
"That was awful, extremely impolite; didn't your mother teach you how to let someone complete introducing themselves?" pouts and crosses its arm.
Words won't come out of my lips for a few seconds. "You're a real fairy!" I said.
She introduces herself as "I am, and my name is Elida."
I became disoriented and couldn't help but stare. My entire childhood was fulfilled, especially after witnessing a real fairy! I was so engrossed in entrancing her that she snapped her small fingers together and drew my attention to herself.
"If you could simply remove this strange force field and let me out,"
I hugged one of my pillows as I sat down on my bed. "How could I trust you?" I wonder, my face buried in the pillow. "I'll tell you everything, especially about that miraculous artifact," she said, pointing to the pen on the table next to the glass. I turn away from her and focus on the pen. She may be the solution to all of my problems. "Wait a minute, let me make a phone call."
"What is a phone call?" she asked, her face pressed against the glass. I couldn't help but giggle since she's so adorable.
"Talking on the phone is called a phone call, and phones are used to communicate across vast distances without the use of cables." I waved my phone slightly.
As she removes her face from the glass, she says, "You people have unusual magical items."
Penny was summoned from whatever she was doing at the time to come over to my place. I put my phone down after making a call and decided to release Elida. I apologized for my actions and how I handled her. Elida eventually accepted my apology and tickled the bridge of my nose.
Penny's voice could be heard downstairs a few minutes later. I dashed downstairs and dragged her into my room. "This had better be significant Alex, because I still have to finish the leading lady and leading man's outfits, and they've also assigned me to the-" she couldn't finish her remarks.
"Hello, my name is Elida," she says as she emerges from behind me and introduces herself to Penny.
"My name is Penelope Yara Esa, and I'm Alex's best friend..." she says, scanning Elida.
"It's a pleasure to meet the new guardian's buddy," Elida says, laughing.
"Woah, Woah, Woah!" I exclaimed, "New guardian? Me?"
"Yes, you are the New guardian between the realms of humans, creatures like myself, and magic," Elida said as she flew in my approach with her cute small wing.
Penny walked over to the nearest chair and sat down. "I had no idea fascinating creatures as you existed; I assumed you were only featured in children's storybooks."
Yes, sure, and here I am, the lone nut in the room.
"Master," she said, tapping the pen's barrel, "why don't you pick up this pen and click its end tip."
"Master?" I exclaimed as I lifted the pen. "No, no, no, my name is Alexia; don't call me Master."
I swallowed my saliva as I stared at the pen. Strangely, the pen's design includes an arrow. It used to be that it didn't have anything but a regular-looking pen.
After that, I click the pen's end tip, which transforms into a bow. A BOW?!
"How—- how did that transform into a bow?" Penny exclaimed.
"I only knew a little about Merlin's item," Elida said, fleeing and touching the bow's upper limp. "It said to be that whenever the item chooses the guardian, first it forms into an item that represents the guardians and to disguise itself, and second, it forms into an item that represents the guardian's spiritual when it comes to battle."
"Alex's item's first form is a pen, which represents fate, affairs, worries, and impressions; her item's second form is a bow, which represents truth," she explained, her attention fixed on the bow.
I simply kept staring at the bow, stretching the knocking point until I realized there were no arrows! I turn to look at Elida, but she's engaged conversing with Penny; who'd have guessed those two would get along so well?
"How can you actually turn this back into a pen?" I inquire. No one is paying attention to me, so I sigh and plop down on my bed, putting the bow aside.
"Master, what's the matter? You don't seem satisfied," Elida says, noticing my grimace.
I shifted my gaze before looking in a different direction. I appreciate the fact that mythological creatures exist, but what disturbs me the most is that...I did not anticipate being a guardian.
"Master, Land Galdra requires your protection. Merlin's item selects new guardians to protect humans, creatures, and magic, and that legacy must be passed down to the new one, which is you, Master Alexia," Elida stated, standing near the lampshade on the desk.
Penny asks, moving the chair she's sitting on the side of the bed, "You mean protection from threats, right?" "But who exactly is the threat?"
When Penny asked, Elida's expression changed dramatically. She bit the inside of her bottom lip, unsure how to respond. Later, she asks us to get near to her because she can't say it out loud, especially in a public place.
"Megedagik, also known as the Dark Lord, is reported to be about to awaken, and his minions are gathering stone fragments in preparation for his reappearance. Once he awakens from his lengthy slumber, he'll eat everything, especially the heart stone found in the Hjarta Galdra."
I simply open my mouth wide and blink several times.
Wait, this object has chosen me as the new guardian, and it expects me to protect and destroy this Dark Lord?!
I chuckle cynically and pass the bow to Penny. She gave me an odd look and handed me the bow.
I pushed the bow away and remarked, "I guess your magical thing is defective; it picked the wrong person."
Penny inserted, "Alex, stop pushing the bow at me!"
Look, I genuinely want to have adequate proof that beings exist and that they once lived among us. This isn't it; this is a completely different story, and it's more than enough. The amount of evidence I have is excessive, and it has dragged me into a separate issue.
"Hey, Ally," a knocked on the door, "I just ordered our supper; it'll arrive sooner, I know you're busy with the event."
Atty!
We were all frozen and staring at each other.
"Do you have another visitor that I'm not aware of, Ally?" he inquired. Trying to get the doorknob to turn.
He had to have heard Elida's voice. I let go of the bow and moved closer to the front door.
"What? no...truly it's just me and Penny here. Don't be foolish, Atty," I said, gripping the knob.
"Ok then, come downstairs after you're done," he says as he knocks for the last time, signaling his departure. It's a signal we use to let each other know we're leaving when we don't enter each other's room.
I took a deep breath and grabbed Penny's bow. "How do you transform this back into a pen!" I screamed, shaking the bow fiercely.
This is quite aggravating! Is there a handbook for this product?!
Why does it have to be a bow, and why does it have to be a bow without a switch to transform it back into a fudging peeeen?
This is quite aggravating!
I slam the bow to the floor and thump it as a result of my rage. I just uncomfortably offered them a wide smile and hurriedly laid the bow aside as Elida and Penny fixed their focus on me.
"You know... it's already late, and I ya...I need to get some rest, and this entire thing is hard to comprehend, so...you know..." I fidgeted my fingers.
"Of course! I still have to finish the costumes!" she exclaimed as she sprung from her chair and dashed to the door.
Finally, a sigh of relief!
Penny spoke before pulling the doorknob to open the door just as I was ready to lay down on my bed. "Hey, Alex...Perhaps this is your calling because you've been looking for years for what was rightfully yours," she added, smiling as she walked out of my room.
I then collapse into my bed, my face buried in my pillow. "Master...are you all right?" Elida asked as she flew towards me.
Still laying in my bed, I face her. "To be honest, Elida, I'm not sure what I'm going to do; it's just too much for me to bear."
Elida places her hand on my brow and her lovely gunmetal blue eyes connect with my russet brown ones. "You know, master, you're not alone in every struggle," she says, smiling.
I simply sighed and looked away from her. "Good night, Elida," I said.
"Good night, master."
