A Friend like you !

He ask’s me with a face full of questions and

doubts. He was puzzled with doubts that what if I don’t agree with him or what

if I think that he’s showing sympathy to me and is doing a favor on me by

offering me such an important place in his father’s company.

I was glad to know that I held such an important

place in his heart that he was ready to offer me such an important place but

also, I was worried that “what if I mess up?” “I need to think about it

Vicky” I said. Vicky was attentively listening to me. Eager to hear what I

would say next. Eager to hear me say YES to his offer. I pause for a moment and

continue. “Thank you Vicky, for showing so much trust in me. I’m lucky to have

you as a friend in my life. And about the job offer, I promise to give it a try

after a little bit of consideration. Is that okay with you?” I ask him

playfully tying to lighten the tense atmosphere around us.

For a moment I see disappointment on his face. He was obviously looking forward for

a YES from me. But in an instant that disappointment is changed with new hope. Maybe

he thinks that after I consider it. He smiles it off and changes the topic

saying “Well as you are now here with my, let me enlighten your day or may I say

your night” “let’s have some fun …..get some booze and dance are worries away

on the dance floor. Let’s Go girl! Let’s show them who’s the boss and who’s the

beauty tonight.” Saying this he orders a bartender to get us our orders as

usual. We take our drinks. Drown them in a swift moment and shout “BOTTOM’S UP”

He grabs my hand and leads me towards the dance

floor. Once we make it to the dance floor, he pulls me close and give the DJ a

sign with his hand. The DJ gets the hint and changes the music the way I like

it. He plays the song “ON THE FLOOR by Jennifer Lopez.” “OH Yeah! That’s my

song” I shout out loud so that Vick could hear me. “Let everyone here know who’s

the Queen Jass. Shake that ** and move your body. Let those girls die with pure**

jealousy*” Vick replies to me. In response I start to feel the music and let my

body take control of me. I move subconsciously. My hips swing on their own. My body

waves with every beat of the music. Vicky steps up behind me putting his hands

softly on the curves of my waist and moves with me. Soon the music changes into

a slow song. Vicky smoothly turns me around. Now I was facing him directly. He looks

deep in my eyes and says “Let me guide you in this song”**. His voice was deep and

demanding. I felt week in my knees when I look into his deep brown eyes.
