BLESSING IN DISGUISE

 /ODESSA'S POV/

As i walked around his house, I saw a door that I thought was the door out of his home. I slowly opened it and my suspicion was correct when I saw the lovely sunlight.

I slowly approached the big black metal door and I slowly opened it, as I opened it I could see the wide road from here. I also saw other large and beautiful houses that looked like modern mansions like his house.

When I came out of the house, it suddenly occurred to me where I was. The language they use is not different from the language we use either, although their clothes are different.

Their houses and equipment are also very different compared to our equipment. “Where am I? What is this place?” I wonder.

I didn't even realize that I was on the road where I could see strange cars moving. I just kept walking to the side while marveling at what I could see. I briefly passed by a market where I saw a lot of food. 

I'm hungry!

“Ineng, all the food we will sell is delicious.” an old saleswoman told me when she noticed me looking at her food.

I just smiled because even though I wanted to buy the food she was selling, I didn't have the money to buy it.

“I wanted to, but I don't have any money.” I replied with embarrassment.

I hurried to leave out because of the embarrassment I felt but suddenly the old woman called me.

“Ineng, take this, it's better if you can taste it.” her smiley said.

I slowly turned around and approached the old saleswoman again.

“Thank you very much.” I replied after getting the 'BIKO' she handed to me.

I quickly tasted the 'BIKO' she gave me and I was shocked by its delicious taste, this 'BIKO' also tasted like the 'BIKO' my mother cooked then.

Suddenly, I remembered what had happened to them, and my brother and I couldn't stop crying while chewing the delicious 'BIKO'.

“Why are you crying?” concerned the elder woman.

I immediately wiped the tears from my eyes when she noticed it.

“Nothing, I just remember my family because of how delicious your 'BIKO' is.” my reason.

“Thanks again for this, the truth is that I haven't eaten yet so thanks for this delicious food.” I added.

The old woman just smiled at me and said “That's delicious because my father inherited it from me.”

“Oh, really? By the way, How old are you?” I asked smiling.

“I was born in 1954 so — wait, I can't even remember what old I am.” countable exposition of the old woman.

I suddenly choked and my two eyes quickly widened when I heard the old woman say that she was born in 1954 because as far as I know, it is only 1945 now, so she can't say that she was born in 1954.

Or maybe they just count the years differently here in their country but due to the strange events that happened to me, it is not unlikely that all the impossible will be possible so I have to be sure.

Gradually, I realized that I was not in another country, so I became even more confused.

Where I am?

“A-Are you sure you were born in 1954?” I stuttered to question her.

“Yes, why, is there any problem?” her shocking answer.

I'm almost driving crazy because she confirmed that she was born in 1954 because it's very impossible that it's over nine years since I accidentally came here, if she was born in 1954, why does she seem to be over sixty years old?

Oh No! Maybe I accidentally got in at another time?

“C-Can you tell me what date it is now?” I want to ensure my suspicion.

“It's February 1, 2018” she replied.

“That's the problem with today's kids who were always using their cellphones, even the date has been forgotten. Even though I'm old, I never forget what's date is now.” she said that I didn't quite understand.

Wait, did she say that the date now is 2018?

I-In that case, am I really in another time?!!

After a few hours of walking aimlessly, night fell on the road as I wondered how it all happened and how I got to this time. Because of my effort to remember everything, there is a memory that suddenly appears in my mind. “After I jumped off the bridge, I just woke up on the dirty beach...Is the river was the reason why I'm here?”

Suddenly, I stopped walking when I noticed that I was on the side of a beautiful bridge.

“I need to go back, I don't have to go through all this goodness.” I slowly climbed onto the handle of the bridge and it was time for me to jump when suddenly someone pulled me so that I would not fall on the bridge, instead, I just fall onto the chest of a man who pulled me.

/TIMOTHY'S POV/

I still can't forget what Geneva told me earlier so I thought I'd just drink a beer so I can forget that even for a while. When I opened my refrigerator, not a single beer was inside it, so I decided to buy those beers at the convenience store.

When I came out of my house wearing a black hoodie jacket and pants, I wondered why the gate to the garage was open until I realized that this is where the woman who was ruining my day passed by. I just didn't pay attention to that woman and I just drove my car.

What the heck!

I was also stuck in traffic for almost two hours just before arriving at the nearest convenience store from our village. When I arrived at the convenience store, I parked my car in front of it for a while and then entered it.

Upon entering, I quickly picked up the snacks and drinks I was going to buy and gave them to the cashier to pay.

“Sir, do you have another credit card?” the cashier asked me.

“Why? is there a problem?” I wonder.

“I'm sorry, Sir, but the machine won't even accept your credit card.” the cashier replied to me.

I could see that the machine didn't want to accept my credit card so I took my three ATM cards to check if it would work.

“Check this three.” the cashier tried all my cards several times but none of them worked.

“Just pay in cash, Sir, to avoid the hassle.” the cashier suggested.

I agreed and immediately checked my wallet to see how much cash I had left. Fortunately, I have exact cash for payment.

Damn it! I'm sure Dad is freezing my Credit card!

After I paid for my purchases, I immediately left the convenience store but I was just shocked when I could not see my car parked in front of the convenience store.

“What's going on?” I just whispered in great annoyance.

I immediately asked the traffic enforcer in front of the convenience store if he had noticed a car parked there. “Wait, did you see a blue sports car parked here?”

“Uh, that car?! We towed it earlier because it's an obstacle on the road.” the traffic enforcer answered.

I was just dumbfounded when the traffic enforcer answered me.

How can I go home? I don't have money for a taxi fare!

“What the hell?! Where is my phone?” I kept clutching my pocket until I realized I had left it in my car earlier.

“Sh*t!”

Eventually, I had no choice but to walk too far to get home. As I was walking carrying my groceries suddenly a blackened man running at my side and handed me a bag. I wondered why that man handed me the bag until I noticed the guards and a woman approaching me.

“Hey, Thief!!! Give it back to me!!!” the woman shouted as she ran towards me.

Here I gradually realized everything so I quickly let go of the bag and ran away. The guards chased me quickly.

“How dare they accuse me of being a thief!” I was still not tired of running until I saw a big trash bin and luckily it was only a little full so here I thought I would just hide here.

“It's disgusting!”

As I peered through the small opening, I saw that they were just running straight to find me. After that, I quickly got out of the disgusting trash can and I just walked casually as if nothing had happened.

I'm so annoyed today! What the heck!!

I've been walking for almost four hours and it took me late at night just to find a phone to use to call my Dad but there's nothing person who is willing to lend me their phones thinking that I might snatch their phones.

Annoying!

As I was walking, I saw people next to me along the side of the bridge. Out of curiosity, I also looked and I was shocked to see the woman I hide in my house standing on the handle of the bridge. Without hesitation, I pulled the woman in front of a crowd causing us both to fall on the side of the bridge. By the time we fell on the road, my vision seemed to have darkened and I could no longer hear. In short, I lost my consciousness.

/ODESSA'S POV/

I quickly got up from the man's chest and suddenly felt scared when I saw him unconscious. That's when I also realized that he was the rude owner of the house I came from earlier.

“Sir, wake up!” my hesitant.

I tried to pat his face just to wake him up but it still didn't work. Fortunately, some people were kind enough to help us, so we took him to the hospital immediately.

When I entered the Hospital I was immediately amazed at its very modern layout but I put aside my amazement first due to extreme concern.

“What happened to my nephew ??” concerns a woman who looks to be in her forties.

I was nervous when the woman's gaze suddenly came to me but fortunately, the doctor came out to tell me the condition of the man who saved me and thought that I was going to commit suicide.

“The young master is okay, based on the CT Scan we performed, he didn't get a fracture on his head or even his back, so it's possible that he just lost consciousness due to being too tired.” the doctor's statement.

I took a deep breath and was slightly relieved of my apprehension when I heard what the doctor had said.

“Thank you, Doc.” the lady's gratitude.

“I only did my job.” the doctor smiley replied before leaving.

It was only now that I realized that the nephew she was referring to was the rude man who had saved me earlier. I thought that man was alone in life but he still had a thoughtful aunt.

I stood for a moment to approach the woman.

“I'm sorry, because of me, your nephew perished.” I apologize.

The woman just nodded at me with a small smile on her face but she's still shows intense worries.

“Aren't you the woman he bumped?” she asked.

I couldn't understand what the woman was saying. Did that man bump me?

Until now, I still don't understand all these events, and why fate always brings us together. I just want to be able to go back at the right time where I belong but someone in danger because of that.

I was still repeatedly confused as I sat quietly across the room from the rude man. “What's wrong with me?” poor question I asked myself.

I just sighed and simply peeked through the glass window of the man's room door to look at it if he was awake. I just smiled when I saw that he was awake and talking to his aunt.

I slowly walked away from the door and I decided to leave the Hospital but I suddenly thought that I have nothing to go home to at this time. I didn't continue to leave and I just patiently returned to my seat until I doesn't realize that I had fallen asleep.

/TIMOTHY'S POV/

I was still a little dizzy when I slowly opened my eyes and realized that I was in the hospital. I turned my head slightly to the left and saw my Auntie Elaine asleep with her arms resting on her face.

I tapped her lightly to wake her up and she woke up quickly.

“Timothy, it's good that you're awake!” my Aunt smiley greeted me. She seems to be happy.

“Stop that, it's annoying.” but I was irritated.
