Too much of anything is too good for me

For a long time I thought that Fuyuko was clinging to me because she was happy all the time it turns out I was wrong. It wasn’t anything wrong. It was more like something dumb. She clung on to me all things time just so that I could take her out somewhere. I told her I would and things got worse after that. Worse in a nice way.

“ Really? You’ll take me there. No changing plans. Absolutely no changing plans,” she said with a glow in her eyes, like how they show in anime.

“ I won’t back down. I am a little nervous though.”

“ Don’t worry! My mom’s a very nice person.”

“ She knows about us huh?”

It felt like it was the end of the world but I was the only one suffering.

“ Akio, Fuyuko! Good morning,” Kiriyama runs up to us.

“ Kiriyama! Kiriyama!,” I cry.

“What’s up,” he says not bothered about my crying.

I whisper something in his ears and then look at him. He holds my hand and pays me on the shoulder. He takes two deep breathes and then exhales.

“ Try not to be a idiot,” he says with a smile on his face.

“ Oii! That hurt.”

We walk to school and make sure to remember everything I had to say to her mother when we get there. Oh! If it wasn’t obvious enough I’ll tell. Fuyuko wants me to meet her mother and she wants me to come to her house today. It’s not like I’ve never been there. But there was nothing going on then. I hope her mother won’t get mad at me. The reason I’m scared is because Fuyuko told her mother about the incident which happened one night at her house.

After school I walked with Fuyuko and we started talking.

“ You know you’ve changed so much these last few months.”

“ Really I think I look the same. I’m handsome right?”

“ That’s not what I meant,” Fuyuko says.

“ Thank you! You’ve always been there for me. I really do love you,” I tell her.

“ Wha..what so you think your saying so openly. Idiot!,” she says and turns away.

“ Sorry!”

We reach her home and I entered her house.

“ Welcome home!,” Fuyuko’s mother greets us.

“ I’m back,” Fuyuko says.

“ Oh! Pardon the intrusion,” I say not knowing what to say.

“ Don’t need to be so formal.”

“ Ah! Ok.”

“ Fuyuko, I want to have a talk with Akio for a while ,” her mother tells Fuyuko.

“ Don’t scare him away ok,” Fuyuko says.

“ We can keep him here if you want,” Fuyuko’s mother says.

“ Fine , I’ll go.”

“ Akio, I know and you know about how your condition is.”

“ Yes.”

“ Do you think we should tell her.”

“ No.”

I didn’t know she wanted to talk about something like this. I don’t know how she knows about this. My mother must have told her long time back. Anyway. I have to face what’s coming to me. I have no choice, I’ve had choices but still I have her.

“ Why is that?”

“ Because I want her to be happy for now.”

“ Then will you take responsibility later. For what will happen later o”

“ Yes! I’ll take full responsibility.”

“ Good! I can trust you with her. Well for at least these few days you can take care of her.”

“ Yes!”

I was s Ares at that time.

“ Can I call you mother for now?”

“ You can call me mother anytime.”

As soon as she said that I started bursting into tears.

“ I’m scared! I don’t want this to end but I have to smile. No matter what I have to smile. I don’t want to see her sad anymore. Please take care of her.”

“ I’m her mother you know,” she says laughing.

We both laugh and then she tells me to make sure she stays happy. I promised her I’d do that.

“ Fuyuko I’ll be leaving now.”

“ Ah! Ok! Bye bye.”

“ See you tomorrow.”

“ See you tomorrow then.”

That smile she shows me it’s so peaceful. So overwhelming I can’t stop thinking about it. Anyways I’ll do what I can for these few days I’m here. I hope she’ll stay safe.
