MY Samantha

She cries and I smile at my newly born daughter. I'm grieving for my wife who had just passed on but she's left me with a new life-my daughter. "Samantha," I kissed her chubby cheek as I remembered my late wife. The funeral just finished, and ever since I've held my second Samantha ,I've felt much more at ease. " Duncan are you satisfied that you're holding the murderer of your wife, my daughter?" My mother-in-never mind she's not my mother-in-law now.

" Catey, I will not have you speaking of my daughter like that.'' I walked away. I will never forget that day.

16 YEARS LATER

I just came home and Nancey said she saw Samantha came from school and ran up." Samantha was upset about something.'' Nancey told me.

I knocked on her door yet I got no reply. I wanted to see my daughter. I missed her while I was away for the past two months.

I opened the door slightly to see my Samantha lying in bed fast asleep. I was stunned, heartbroken. Her face was swollen and her lip and brow were busted. I was afraid that she might be injured. I  gently pulled the covers back. She was bruised black and blue on her thighs and legs. I'm going to make sure whoever did this never sees daylight again. She went into a fit and the agony I went through watching my daughter calm down from the fit. The worry that I had to go through was unbearable I wouldn't wish it for any parent. I cried because I could do nothing but watch my daughter. I kissed her cheek and left her room.

''Dr please monitor her.'' Dr Angela nods before going into Samantha's room.

''Have you found out who did this?'' I grit my teeth trying my best to calm down. ''Duncan, you're not going to like this,'' Samuel says over the phone to me. ''Spit it out already!'' I yell at my best friend.( PA)

My anger boils even though I don't know who did this." It's Catey. She hired the guy. Duncan what should we do with him?'' My hands clenched hearing her name. ''End him. Get a warrant and arrest her. Get Jordan(Lawyer) to file a  court case.'' I ordered.

A while later...

'' Duncan, she's traumatized. '' Dr Angela adds before she left. I had to stop myself from breaking something. My baby Samantha was hurt and sometimes hope and time was the only thing that can heal. I walked in an sat next to her as she weeped into her pillow. ''Samantha, Daddy is here. I'll keep you safe, no one will hurt you ever again.''

I offered my hug and she immediately embraces.'' Sam I'm here-I'm never leaving you alone. I love you Sam''

I whispered at the verge of emotional tears. '' Daddy, but I've lost it. No man will ever want me. I'm tainted.'' She cried out from my chest.'' No Samantha, there's a guy out there with a heart. He will never hurt you. Just because you're My Samantha. '' I kissed my Samantha on the forehead.
