Lara Narrating...

I wake up the next day early in the morning, the sun was coming through my bedroom window, it was faint and pleasant, I get up to get ready for the interview, I didn't want to be late.

When I leave the apartment Enzo was there standing by the car, he knew I always left at that time, and when he sees me he comes walking in my direction.

"Let's talk Lara, get in the car I'll take you to the company and we'll talk on the way" He says stopping in front of me.

"Enzo I don't work at your company anymore, I'm going for an interview at another company now" When I say that he is speechless.

"Just because we broke up?" he asks.

"No, it's for personal reasons, look Enzo we have nothing to talk about, it's over" I reply.

When suddenly a very familiar person stops beside us, that perfect smile, that face of someone who is going to play a prank or even ruin my life.

"Hi Lara, how are you Mr. Bianchi" Gael greets us with a mischievous smile on his face.

"What are you doing here?" I ask before Enzo says anything.

"You forgot your purse in my car yesterday, I came to give it to you, I'm already going, I'm late for work" He says handing me the purse and walking away towards his car.

"Are you seeing him?" he asks, but before I can answer he continues talking "I'm not surprised" Enzo says dryly and when I hear that I feel a rage rising inside of me.

"Dear Enzo, don't compare me to you" I put a fake smile on my face and continue talking "You still need to grow up a lot mentally, it's not just because I know Gael that we are dating, unlike you I don't date any human being that breathes" I say walking away.

I hail a cab, look at my cell phone and there's still time to get to the interview. I arrive at the company and walk towards a woman who was at the reception.

"Good morning, I'm here for the job interview" I say smiling.

"Good morning, the boss asked me to direct you to his office, he will do the interview personally" She says dryly looking me up and down, as if I were some kind of disgusting animal "Just enter that elevator and press to go up to the last floor that you will be in front of his room" She says.

I walk away without saying anything and get into the elevator, I spend the entire ride cursing her in my mind, arriving in front of his room his secretary greets me with a smile on her face and is super polite to me.

"Good morning Miss Sinclair, we are waiting for you. You can come in, Mr. Clifford is waiting for you inside. Would you like something to drink?" She says super friendly.

"You can call me Lara, I'll take a coffee if you have some," I tell her.

"Okay Lara, you can go in, I'll bring your coffee" she smiles at me and leaves and I knock on the door and enter.

When I walk in I can't believe what I see, it was a person I never imagined seeing there.

"Why didn't you tell me you were Mr. Clifford?" I ask, sitting down in a chair in front of Gael who smiles at me.

"You didn't ask," he says, still smiling but soon turns serious and the secretary comes in leaving two coffees and I thank her, when she leaves Gael goes back to talking "Lara, do you know my family?" he asks me seriously, I take a breath and decide to tell him.

I tell him everything my aunt told me and he gets serious, paying attention, when I finish telling him I thought he was going to laugh, think I was some kind of crazy person, but instead, he was too serious.

"Remember when I said you reminded me of someone?" he asks, I nod, confirming that I remembered, and he continues talking "I wanted you to meet my parents, of course I'm not going to say that you are their daughter who was kidnapped, this case became very famous at the time and your aunt may be saying this because of that, I want you to meet my parents and tell them this and then I'm going to show you a picture," he finishes speaking and stares at me seriously.

"Okay," I agree even though I find it all very strange.

He gets up and stares at me, I stare back, I didn't understand.

"Shall we go?" he asks.

"Now?" I ask, startled.

"The sooner the better," he smiles at me and I get up.

"I'm a little nervous, honestly I think it might be my aunt's invention, I don't know if we should really do this, knowing that what she told me really happened to your family, what if I bring back old traumas to your mother or everyone in your family?" I ask extremely nervous.

"Lara, I thought that's what you wanted! Don't worry about the traumas you might bring back, the traumas my parents carry were never gone. Trust me, I'll take you to them, you tell them this, I'll show you the picture and you tell me what you think," he says calmly.

"Okay, I hope my presence there doesn't hurt them," I say.

We leave the room, he informs the secretary that he is leaving and we go to the parking lot, arriving at the parking lot we go to his car, I was very nervous and he had noticed but didn't say anything.
