He thought, "I have guessed correctly. These men look like highway robbers. They seem to have just stolen a great amount of money. Then why have they stopped here? maybe, they are going to hide their loot somewhere."

The horsemen slowly got down their horses one by one. As they alighted, Alibaba counted the number of men. They were totally forty of them. The thieves then tied their horses to nearby trees.

After doing so, they stood in a line and waited. All of them were carrying bags, which must have been filled with gold and silver. Alibaba wondered what they were going to do.

One of the thieves came from behind with his bag. When Alibaba saw him, he knew that he was the leader of the gang. The rest of the gang made way for the leader.

Alibaba observed the actions of the leader carefully. The leader then came forward up to the rock. (there was a big rock beside the tree. sorry I forget to write about it.)

The leader faced the rock. He then said in clear tones that reached Alibaba's ears, "OPEN SESAME!" to Alibaba's utter amazement, a portion of the rocks' wall opened up like a door. The captain then stood aside to let his men in.

Alibaba could see everything clearly. The captain counted his men as they went inside. After the last man went inside, the leader also followed him. Then, the door of the cave was closed magically.

Alibaba sat on the tree in complete surprise. He had never seen anything like that before. He thought, "How could a cave be opened up with two words! They must have been some magical words.

'Open, Sesame!' I wonder if I can get down now and runaway. But, no, it is better if I wait for them to leave. Then, I can safely get down. I wonder how long they are going to be inside. And, how long I have to sit on this tree?"

Thinking in this way, Alibaba waited for the robbers to come out and leave.

Alibaba waited patiently on top of the tree. It was not very comfortable to sit there. He had to be careful not to fall down. Every time, he thought of getting down and taking his donkeys, before the robbers came out.

But then he thought, "What if I get down and at that moment, the robbers come out? They would definitely kill me. I have no option but to stay here."

Alibaba tried to divert himself with other thoughts. He wondered what the cave looked like. He guessed that the cave must be the hideout of the robbers. As he sat waiting time passed slowly. There was no sign of any robber.

The cave remained closed. It was soon evening. Alibaba thought, "I can't wait any longer. My donkeys will become restless. I have to go back to the town and sell the wood. My wife will also be waiting for me."
