Episode 19

"Heeheeheeheehee."

The three youths immediately turned their gaze toward the sound. Indeed, they all fell to the floor in shock. The figure that Dimas had once seen in the bathroom had revealed itself again.

"It's the one I saw in the bathroom. Remember grandpa's words, don't be afraid and confront it," said Dimas, his heart pounding. Dimas was controlling his fear. Satrio and Dimas seemed to regain their courage.

"LET'S GO!" The three of them shouted, immediately setting about their respective tasks. They ran toward their duties. Unexpectedly, the figure lifted all three of them into the air. They were certainly shocked. Yet they chose to hide it. They had to be brave.

"Release us!" Riko yelled loudly. The figure laughed again in its distinctive, shrill way that made their ears ring. "No! You have disturbed my peace!" the figure responded with a growl and a heavy voice that sounded terrifying to all three of them.

Dimas recited the Throne Verse loudly, so that he and his friends would be let down. As Dimas recited the last phrases, the figure's body was repelled, and the three youths fell hard to the floor.

They all yelped in pain. Dimas quickly rose as there was no time to waste. He began searching for the small, shroud-wrapped box that would make it easy to rid themselves of the creature before them.

"Keep praying so the creature won't easily attack you. I'll also pray. Now let's find the object needed to destroy this creature!" shouted Dimas, ordering his two friends to move. Otherwise, they would all die at the hands of the creature before them, which was now writhing in agony after hearing the verses of God.

As they searched, continually reciting God's words, the ghost-like kuntilanak screamed in pain. "Aaa! It's hot! So hoooot!"

"I've found the bottle!" exclaimed Satrio in relief. Soon after, Riko also announced that he had destroyed all the offerings on the table. Dimas was still busy looking for the small, shroud-wrapped box.

At the residence of Clarissa's family.

"Dad! Dad! The candle's gone out! It's a bad sign, Dad!" Clarissa shrieked in fear. Clarissa's father immediately ran to where the offerings in their house were placed. "This means that someone knows the location of your mother's body. It will be dangerous for us. We'll soon die if we don't stop this," said Clarissa's father, trembling with fear.

"Clarissa doesn't want to die! We must go to that official residence now! We can't just leave it," said Clarissa, then quickly went to her room to look for her car keys. "We must go there right now, Dad!" said Clarissa, urging her father.

Clarissa's father nodded and they both hurried out towards the official residence. It only took them fifteen minutes to arrive outside the residence.

They both ran inside. Unfortunately, all access to enter was securely locked. "It must be those three youths! They've planned everything so well," said Clarissa, angry at being fooled.

"Calm down. There's still one secret door we haven't tried," said Clarissa's father, then proceeded calmly to the back of the house. Sure enough, the secret door was unlocked. They entered and headed for the room where Clarissa's mother's body was preserved.

Yes, the corpse in that room belonged to Clarissa's mother, murdered by the ghost of Bening. Bening wanted revenge for her own death.

However, when she managed to kill Clarissa's mother, Clarissa's father and Clarissa had already thwarted Bening's ghost by reanimating Clarissa's mother's spirit.

Indeed, Clarissa's father had many connections with famous and powerful witch doctors in Indonesia. Such a small thing was easily managed by him.

After his wife's death, he controlled his wife's spirit to block Bening's ghost from killing him in revenge. On condition, his wife's body must be preserved at the place where she last breathed.

The site now used for offerings and the preservation of his wife's body had been the main bedroom where Clarissa's father and his wife used to sleep.

Indeed, those who crave power lose any compassion, even for their own family. It was his wife's corpse, yet instead of burying her, he used her to protect himself. Such inhumanness.

After reaching the rear of the house, they easily opened the secret door. They walked toward the room where Clarissa's mother's body was kept. Sure enough, they saw the door to the room open. Without further ado, they entered to see who had managed to thwart their plans for years.

"Clap, clap, clap!"

The three youths immediately turned and stopped what they were doing when they heard clapping from the door. Dimas had just found the object he was searching for, but he hesitated to take it, startled by the sound of clapping. When they looked, they saw Clarissa with a middle-aged man whom Dimas guessed was her father.

"You've done well. Do you want to be heroes? For whom? For my wife? Or for Bening?" said Clarissa’s father, inciting anger in the three youths.

Dimas tried to digest Clarissa's father's recent words. "Wife?" Dimas questioned inwardly. Once he understood the meaning of those words, his eyes widened in disbelief. The corpse in the casket was Clarissa's mother.

"Why are you doing this? Where is your humanity? Did you also kill her?" said Dimas, pointing to the casket.

"Hahahaha." Clarissa and her father laughed arrogantly. They were the protagonists. "It's none of your business! Stop what you’re doing. Otherwise—" Clarissa's father left the threat hanging.

"Otherwise, what?" Riko asked, frustrated with the lack of compassion shown by the two before them. "Otherwise, you'll follow Bening to hell!"

After saying this, Clarissa's father began mumbling what appeared to be a spell while holding a small bottle filled with green liquid. Satrio, who had noticed the same type of bottle he held, quickly tucked it into his pocket.

"Heeheeheehee."

Following that, a piercing laughter was heard, and the three youths guessed it was the voice of the kuntilanak figure. But this time, one of its eyes was hanging out of its socket. "Be careful. She is Clarissa's mother, controlled by her spirit. And the body in the casket is her unburied corpse," said Dimas as his two friends moved closer to him.

The three stood, watching the figure apprehensively, aware that this was no ordinary spirit. It possessed tremendous power, enough to easily slay them all.

"Destroy these three fools!"
