Chapter 1: Fresh start

“Now that we defeated Lila-uhm Hawkmoth. What now?”, Chat Noir asked Ladybug as they were staring into the Eiffel Tower from where they would go on patrols, one last time.

“I’m not sure about that myself Kitty. Do you have any suggestions?”,

“Uhm-don’t take this the wrong way or anything My Lady, but it’s just been bouncing back and forth in my mind lately. Can we actually tell each other our identities now?”, he asked as his eyes lit up from excitement.

Ladybug turned her head at him, and smiled.

“I’ve been thinking about it too. Now that the threat is eliminated, it’s safe now right?”,

Chat Noir stood up and carried Ladybug.

“Are you finally going to show me who you are?! Is this really happening?! I must be the luckiest cat in the world!”, he shouted at the top of his lungs while jumping up and down, Ladybug still in his arms.

“Easy Kitty. The threat might be eliminated, but we still can’t risk anyone’s safety. So for our family’s sake. We should keep our identities between us only.”,

Chat Noir put her down, hugged her, and whispered ,”You don’t know how long I’ve waited for this moment, My Lady.”,

“I know.”,

Without any moment to lose, they faced each other, and de transformed.

“Spots off.”,

”Claws in.”, they said in unison.

They eyes widen due to shock.

“A-Adrien?!”,

”Ma-Marinette?!”, they yelled in unison.

“I-I can’t believe it. You’re Chat Noir? Really? I mean it’s not that-I’m just suprised is all.”,

“I’m shocked myself, My Lady. Knowing you’re the girl who was always clumsy, and was stammering around me, changes everything.”,

“Is-is that-that a bad thing?”,

“What! No, not at all.”, Adrien told Marinette.

They were still in shock, thinking.... “Should I feel different now that I know who it is behind that mask?”,

“Now that you both know you’re secret identities, isn’t it going to be awkward around your friends at school?”, Plagg interrupted them.

“Plagg, don’t be rude. They’re thinking about it. Don’t take it into mind Marinette, you too Adrien. But maybe you should both go home for now. You both must be tired.”, Tikki suggested, as the revealed wasn’t what they had in mind.

“Uh-yeah. We should go home, our parents must be worried. Plagg, claws out.”, Adrien transformed and left.

“We should head out ourselves Marinette. I know everything that happened today is very shoking, you should at least rest for a bit to take it all in.”,

“*Sighs* You right Tikki. The awkwardness that happened between us must’ve just been from the shock. Tikki, spots on.”, Marinette transformed, and left the rooftop as well.

\~Next Day\~

“*Yawns* Good morning Marinette, how was- woah! Did you even sleep last night?! What happened to you? Is this about the reveal yesterday?”, Tikki asked all worried.

“Yes, Tikki! Why don’t I feel any different?! I mean I lo-louebfj!! I can’t even say the “L” word! I mean I do love-yes! I did it! I said it!”,

“Slow down Marinette, what do you mean you can’t say love? Is it about that one akumatised villain you fought? Where you can’t say or look at Adrien for the whole day until you defeated “Love Sick” ?”,

“I think that’s exactly what was going on with me! There was probably still some leftover power in me! I must have not been fully recovered yet!”,

Tikki looked at her, and she knew she needed help.

“Can you call Adrien for me Marinette?”,

“What? Why?”,

“I just need to talk to Plagg. I just need to see if the same thing is happening to Adrien as well. The both of you did get blasted by the beam right?”,

“Alright, just don’t say anything unnecessary Tikki.”,

A few tries later.....

”Well hello sugarcube! Have you missed me already?”, Plagg greeted Tikki.

“There’s no time for flattery right now Plagg! Something is wrong with Marinette, I’m assuming the same thing is going on with Adrien as well.”,

“Yeah! He woke me up asking me all about love and stayed up all night reading romance novels! If that doesn’t sound weird to you Tikki, then let me tell you how he lost interest in Ladybug, I mean Marinette.”,

“That’s also the problem wit Marinette Plagg! I think it’s because of “Love Sick’s” power!”,

“That doesn’t sound right at all Sugarcube! Your “Miraculous Ladybug” should have fixed everything.”,Plagg excalimed.

“I know it doesn’t sound right, *Sighs * maybe we can talk about it in school later. They’re going to be late. I’ll see you both at school.”,

They hung up.

“Marinette! You’re going to be late-Marinette, oh, you didn’t get any sleep did you?”, her Mom walked in on her, thankfully Tikki heard the footsteps and hid.

“O-Of course I slept, it felt so good that I woke up extra-extra, early *Yawns*.”,

“Marinette, you can skip school today. It’s alright to have a little rest. Don’t push yourself too hard.”,

“I’m fine Mom, *Yawns*. Besides I wouldn’t want to miss our first day in the last week of school.”, she said and started to get ready.

“If you say so, still I’m worried. You can have my permission to go on trip with your friends once your vacation starts. You don’t have time for them lately, and besides your father and I are headed to London in about next week as well.”,

Marinette who was still unaware, agreed and proceeded to get ready.

“Tikki *Yawns* what was Mom talking about a while ago? Were we going to London?”,

Tikki, didn’t talk back about the permission to go with her friends on vacation and just reminded her that she was going to be late.

At school\~

“Girl... what happened to you?”, Alya greeted her.

“Long story Alya *Yawns*. And you don’t want to know.”, she replied and headed to her desk and laid her head.

Adrien walks in, Yawning\~

“Ooh, looks like someone also didn’t get a wink of sleep last night, Adrien that is.”, she teased Marinette, only to find a girl drooling all over their table.

Nino and Adrien sat on their desk, Adrien also rets his head on their table. Alya pulled Nino’s shirt towards her and whispered,

“Don’t you think it’s weird that BOTH of them, didn’t have a night’s rest.”,

“Don’t fret babe, Adrien told me he was just reading all night.”,

“Well that’s no fun story at all.”, she replied and let go of his shirt.

On class\~

“Adrien, Marinette! Sleeping in class is such an unacceptable behaviour!”, Ms. Bustier scolded.

“I’m sorry miss, *Yawns* it wont happen again.”, Adrien answered wide eyed and trying hard to keep awake.

“I’m sorry too Miss, *Yawns*.”,

Class proceeds, with the both of them trying their best to listen\~

“Marinette-girl, class is over. Nino, you wake Adrien up, I’m taking Marinette home. See you tomorrow.”, Alya said and assisted Marinette.

“See you tomorrow babe!”, Nino replied and assisted Adrien as well.

“Dude, stop dragging your feet! If your bodyguard sees you like this, he might tell.”,

“*Yawns* Don’t worry about it Nino. He barely even talks to Natalie, let alone my father.”,

“You might be right but, still I’m worried dude. Marinette is acting like you, if I didn’t know any better, I’d say you’re both hiding something.”,

“Don’t be silly Nino. Me hiding something from you, don’t be ridiculous! Uh-A-anyways, the car is here, I-uh gotta go! *Yawns* See you tomorrow!”,

“See you tomorrow dude!”,

Nino pulls out his phone, texting Alya

“Something’s definitely up babe.”,

“I knew it! I’ll squeeze out some answers from Marinette as well.”,

“Good luck babe! <3 “,

“Aw! Thank you 💗”,

“So Marinette, what’s really up girl.”, Alya asked suspiciously.

“*Yawns* I told you Alya, nothing’s up. And also, you suddenly stopped uploading to the Ladyblog.”,

“Yeah, it’s just that. I featured Lila there once, announcing that she was close friends with Ladybug and all, I just feel ashamed of continuing to upload after it was revealed that she was Hawkmoth. Besides, now that she’s defeated.... I think Ladybug and Chat Noir would stop patrolling.”,

Marinette felt guilty and thought that it was maybe her fault the Ladyblog had stopped, though it’s still a good thing that all the superhero business is over for now.

“I’m sure they’ll never stop defending Paris from any threats. But I think they deserve time for themselves as well, being a superhero is no joke after all.”,

“You’re right, I’ll sure miss them. Also, you sure there’s nothing going on?”,

“Alya, I already told you nothing is up, but what do you think will happen to them if they stopped patrolling? Won’t seeing each other be weird?”,

“I’m sure they’ll have plenty of opportunities meeting “off work”, they must’ve revealed their identities to each other by now.”,

“Ye-yeah, p-plenty of times indeed.”, Marinette worried.

“Thanks for walking me home Alya! See you tomorrow.”,

“Oh, before I forget girl, here. Me and the girls thought this might be a place worth relaxing in.”, Alya handed a pamphlet where it said “Echo Creek” in the front.

“I think I should ask my parents first. I’ll let you know if they agree or not.”,

“It’ll be fun Marinette, I promise!”,

Inside Marinette’s house\~

“Mom, Alya asked me if I can go here. I think maybe-“, Marinette told them, handing the pamphlet to her mother but was interrupted.

“Marinette you should go with them! I already told you you’re allowed to go!”,

“W-wait whe-“,

“When are you going Marinette? You should tell me so I can ready some snacks for you.”,

“But-“,

“Rest for now Marinette you didn’t get a wink of sleep last night, you must be awfully tired.”,

“Yes mom.”,

In her room\~ *

“Tikki! What am I gonna do?! What if I leave then Hawkmoth.... right. But, I still can’t help but worry, what if something happens when I leave?”,

“Chat Noir, oh right. I’m sure Alya or Nino would be inviting Adrien. So Chat Noir staying isn’t an option either.”,

“I have you Tikki. I can just pull out a miraculous if I needed to.”,

“So are you going?”, Tikki asked excitedly.

“*Sighs* Well the threat is gone.... Mom’s right Tikki! I don’t have enough time for my friends like I used to. And maybe “Echo Creek” will be much more fun than what it says on the poster!”,

“That’s the spirit Marinette!”,

Texting Adrien\~

“Did Nino invite you to any vacations lately?”,

“No, why do you ask?”,

“Nothing, I just thought it might be a good idea for Chat Noir to catch a break too.”,

“😺”

“I have to ask what my father thinks first! I’ll let you know tomorrow My Lady!”,

“Watch the nicknames someone might read this if you aren’t aware.”,

“Yes My Lady I’ll be sure to delete it.”,

“Goodnight”,

“You too Kitty.”,
