10 years later

AT HOME

Leo was busy preparing breakfast for his children.

Today was his day off, he had googled some recipes the night before to make something special for his babies.

"Damn it!"

He had burnt the pancakes again, Leo was becoming frustrated more and more, he took another pan and tried again.

"aah"

Mrs min was seated in the living room watching a certain family show when she heard some noise in the kitchen, she turned to look at the mess he was making but decided to give him more time

"maybe this time he would figure out that the kitchen and he did not get along and would just get over the cooking talent he always said he had "she thought to herself.

she went back to watching her show

"ahh" she had him whimper and turned to look at him from where she was sitting, she shook her head and stood up, making her way to the kitchen.

she grabbed his hand and soaked it in running water"be careful at least," she reprimanded him.

"I will do it dear, go check up on the kids, "Mrs min said while putting the burnt pancakes inside the trash bin.

" but."Leo tried to argue with Mrs Min who was removing something inside the fridge

"I know dear, but, the children are also my grandchildren, am happy to help" Mrs Min replied with a wide smile understanding his worries. She shoved him out of the kitchen and then waved a tiny goodbye

"go now" Mrs Min charged

"You don't get it, mmm, the kitchen and you, is just a no"She muttered to herself while taking something out of the fridge

" What," he asked curiously eager to know what she had just said

"Go, please, am sure those two devils are doing something mischievous up there," she said sternly

Leo gazed at her one last time before stepping out of the kitchen and vacating it.

As he is in the hallway he hears some noise from Kookie's room. When he gets closer he realizes that there is fighting going on in the room, he increases his pace and soon gets to the room and opens the doo he is astonished

"What is going on here, " He asks sternly "Leon why are you over Kookie."

"You should be up by now" Leo hisses.

Leon lets go of Kookie's short and stand up, he faces his father, who is enraged.

Leo is astonished by the scene in front of him, kookie is filled with blood all over his face. He is horrified, his mind goes blank

Leo and kookie had always been fighting but it had never been this serious.

He walks towards the weak body of the kookie on the floor and picks him up he looks at Leon who now has tears streaming down his face.

"You are grounded," Leo tells Leon in a stern and authoritative tone.

"You better not leave this room or....." Leo said in fury

'Mom" Leo called out, "prepare the car, we are taking kookie to the hospital"

"What! what happened this time"Mrs Min was so done with the children's action

She picks the keys from the counter and heads to the car, Leo enters the backseat of the car while carrying a kookie.

HOSPITAL

Leo and Mrs min were sitting outside waiting for the x-ray to be done to see if the boy had any internal injury.

Mrs min had said that Leon's little hands could not cause any internal damage but Leo insisted on doing the x-ray.

" I cannot take any chances, I promised Loki to take good care of them, "Leo said unconsciously and Mrs min's heart sunk.

The pain of losing her daughter was still inside of her, she looked at Leo's eye and realized that he was not over the pain too.

leo and her had avoided talking about Loki, whenever the children would raise the topic by asking where their mother was, Leo always replied" she went far away, in a good place, where she watches over us" and dismissed the other questions by distracting the boys with their favourite snacks or anything else interesting

Leo would go to his room and come out in the morning with swollen eyes

"You are not over her are you," Mrs Min asked full of pity that the man had to experience such pain at a young age. When Leo faced her, his eyes were teary, she directly knew the answer. she pulled Leo into a hug.

she felt comforted by the fact that she was not the only one who remembered her daughter.

Kookie and the doctor came out at that time

"Daddy" he called out in excitement.

They both stood up wiping their tear.
