Chapter 8
Aurora
"Aurora!" I heard someone calling me as I was leaving the house. It was Rocio, who was approaching us quickly.
"I wanted to tell you that I made some arrangements for Lilly and Lucy to stay with us at my house, so they don't feel uncomfortable living with Lucas and Manuel in the big house. Sometimes they can be a bit wild and it's a bit uncomfortable."
"Great!" we all exclaimed at the same time.
"Let's go! I'll help you carry your things," I said, turning to look at the girls.
The living room was empty as we passed by with our bags. We walked to the exit and I spotted Oliver walking with Loreto behind him.
When we walked out, the woman grabbed Oliver's face and planted a big kiss on him. He didn't do anything for a few seconds until he moved his hands and held her by the hips, deepening the kiss, all without taking his eyes off mine.
I stood there for a few more seconds, and when he finally let go of the woman, I turned around and continued walking behind Lilly and Lucy, who were talking about some couples. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't pay attention to what they were saying. I felt a bit...hurt by that scene.
"Are you going to tell us what happened with Rocio's brother?" Lilly asked.
"What do you mean?" I replied, hurrying my pace along the path.
"Hahaha, don't play innocent," Lucy retorted. "You were avoiding Oliver's gaze the whole dinner. It's obvious something happened when he came to pick you up."
"You were as red as a tomato when you entered the dining room," Lilly added.
"Ugh! I'll tell you, but don't make fun of me," I sighed.
I had no choice but to tell them about the embarrassment I had experienced. They made fun of me a lot and nicknamed me "little apple" because of how red I was throughout dinner.
"You guys are so mean to me. What about you? You were flirting the whole time with those hunks. The men on this island are so handsome," I said with a laugh.
They both looked at each other and responded, "How can we not look at them when they're so beautiful? Plus, they smell divine." It seemed so strange to me, but I guess pheromones do exist, haha.
"Oh my Goddess," Lucy exclaimed. "I think I fell in love at first sight."
"I think the same. Did you see how gorgeous Lucas is?" Lilly squealed. I was surprised to hear her speak like that; she's usually the quietest of the three.
"And what about the daughter of the Fiura?" I said sarcastically.
We all burst into laughter at the nickname.
"What an unpleasant woman. I hope I don't run into her often," Lilly said.
"Did you see how she was looking at Oliver? She was devouring him with her eyes," Lucy exclaimed.
"That's nothing. I saw with my own eyes, which God gave me, how she was kissing him when we were on our way here," I told them, wanting to erase that image from my mind. "But let's change the subject. Do you have anything to do tomorrow?" I asked.
"No," they replied. "We start on Monday."
"Will you come with me to take a walk in the center? I need to buy some things that I didn't bring in my suitcase because I left in a hurry that night."
"Of course, that way we can explore the surroundings," Lilly responded.
"I'm happy because the three of us are going to live together," Lucy said, giving a little leap.
"I love it too. I thought I was going to live alone with Rocio. I really like having you two nearby," I told them. "I'm sure that if I hadn't met you, I would already be taking a bus back to Santiago."
"Well, then, it's a good thing we found you, and I'm letting you know now that we won't let you go back. And if we have to tie you up for that, we will," Lucy replied with a smile.
"Since we met you a week ago, you've changed a lot, and I would dare say that you even sleep for more than 3 hours at a time and no longer have that look of discomfort," Lilly said, taking my hands.
My phone rang a couple of times. I picked it up to see who it was. The girls looked at me, and I looked back at them with panic in my eyes. When I lifted the device to see what it was, I opened the messages, and all I could do was drop it and let it fall.
The only thing I could do was cry and lament after seeing the messages, it's time to change my number so they can't contact me.
I don't know how long I was like this, I remember Lilly picking up the phone from the floor and frowning, I heard her say something to Lucy. While Lilly sat next to me, Lucy disappeared through the door, a few minutes passed and she came back with a steaming cup of tea, the scent of lemon balm and chamomile reached me.
While I drank the hot lemon balm tea, I could see both of them staring at each other for a few minutes, then they would look back at me and then at each other. They took me to my bedroom, helped me lie down, and left the room in search of something, I don't know what, I didn't pay much attention.
When I found myself alone in the room, I got up from the bed, went to the large window overlooking the forest. I took my phone and did what I had to do a week ago, I started deleting all my social media, my chats, blocked some contacts, and blocked the SIM card as well. When I felt more at ease, I looked towards the forest, and I could see a pair of bright green eyes staring directly at me from the bushes, in the distance I could make out a silhouette of... maybe? It was enormous. It didn't frighten me, but it sparked my curiosity, perhaps it could be a Ruende, a mythical creature from here that was described as a black dog of great stature, maybe Lucy was swimming with it. I heard a sound behind me, and it was Lucy and Lilly who had entered the room with a couple of blankets and covers, they said they would sleep with me tonight. When I turned to look at the forest, the pair of sparkling green eyes were no longer there, so I turned around, got into bed, and settled in between my friends in a comfortable silence.

I didn't know what to do, Aurora wouldn't stop crying, I picked up the phone from the floor and quickly glanced at the messages that had come through, while I told Lucy to go downstairs and make a lemon balm tea to calm Aurora.
When Lucy arrived with the tea, I read the messages, I couldn't believe what I was reading, this must be a joke, I said through the link.
Lucy: What do the messages say?
Lilly: It's just one message, from her aunt, she's demanding that she come back because she has to take responsibility for her mom's suicide attempt.
Lucy: Are they blaming her? What the hell, what kind of family does Aurora have.
We left Aurora lying down and left the bedroom to get a blanket and a cover, tonight we would sleep with her. When we returned, she was standing, staring out the window with a fixed gaze. I approached her.
"Aurora, sweetheart, this is not your responsibility, we're here for you" I said tenderly.
"I know, it's just that I'm tired of her trying to manipulate me" she whispered.
"come, let's go to bed, tonight the three of us will sleep together." I said as I guided her to bed.
These situations unsettle me, I can't understand how your own family can treat you like this, I don't think I will ever be able to comprehend it. My family is close-knit, we love each other very much, my parents have always been by my side through thick and thin, when I had my first transformation, they were there with me, they didn't let me suffer alone during that painful moment. And it's the same with everything I want to do, my mom and dad are always encouraging me to keep going, I wish to have a love like the one they have. My mom hid from him for a few months, she did it so he could get to know her, and when she confessed that she was his mate, my dad told her that he prayed to the Moon Goddess every night for her to be his companion. And that's why I hid my scent from Lucas, I hope I'm not wrong and that he truly falls in love with me for who I am, not just because the goddess willed it.
I put aside my thoughts, turned around to embrace Aurora, and just like that, we fell asleep.
