Chapter 5
Oliver.
We had been busy all morning. Leandro brought his sister, Loreto, with him. She is on vacation here on the island, a tall, beautiful woman, about 1.75 meters tall and slim. It is evident that she takes great care of her appearance. She arrived a few days ago at Don Remigio's estate and asked Leandro to take her with him to stroll through the city center. Since we finished our tasks quickly, we accompanied them for a walk. Lucas and Manu took the opportunity to buy some things they needed, and I did the same. We went to have lunch and continued discussing our business.
"Tell me, Oliver, are you single?" Loreto asked me flirtatiously.
"The truth is, yes. I have a lot of work to do, and at the moment, that is the most important thing, along with taking care of my sister. I don't have time for a formal relationship," I replied in a serious tone, and I could say, even a little harsh. But I am not interested in having a romantic relationship.
I put an end to the topic there. I didn't want it to continue being insinuated, and I was already tired of going around in circles. The guys had everything they needed, so I took out the keys to the truck, approached Leandro, and told him that we were leaving and would wait for them at the main house.
"Leandro, we're ready, and my sister must be pulling her hair out because we haven't arrived yet," I said jokingly.
"Yes, we're ready too. Loreto finished her shopping, we'll follow you."
We didn't get into the vehicle and started off. All I wanted was to get to the house, and for some reason, I could sense Kantz was restless.
"There was no need to be so curt in answering Loreto's question. She was just being friendly, and it's clear that she liked you as soon as she saw you," Lucas said. "She seemed genuinely interested in you."
"You know I'm not looking for companionship, both of you know that," I replied firmly.
"But boss, Lucas and Rocio think it's time for you to find someone, someone to warm your bed and see if it changes your grumpy mood. ~he says, teasing Lucas~
"First of all, idiot, call me by my name. We're alone. And second... I won't share my bed with anyone, and it doesn't mean I don't have sex or practice celibacy," I retorted sharply.
"If you're talking about that brunette from the beach a few nights ago when we were drunk, I'll tell you to your face that it doesn't count. A blowjob is not having sex," he laughed out loud.
"That's not your concern, you idiots," I replied annoyed.
"I think it's a good idea that Leandro brought her. Let's see if she does you the favor, hahaha."
"You know what? Let's drop this topic here. I don't want to be angry with you guys over this stupidity," I told them both.
"Okay, let's talk about what's more important right now than a fling. What's going on with Rocio?" Lucas asks, causing me to release a sigh.
"I don't know what to do to lift her spirits. I don't like seeing her sad; that's not how she usually is," another sigh. "I'm really worried, as her older brother, I just want to see her happy."
"Hey, we could organize a party, invite some of the partners, maybe some wolves from the old pack or the ones from Neuquen," Manu suggests.
"Yes, that's a good idea. As soon as Leandro and Loreto leave, we'll organize the party."
We're arriving at the house, and I see Manuel's confused expression in the rearview mirror. I also feel Lucas tensing up beside me, I look at him, and he has the same expression on his face.
"What's wrong with you guys?" I ask.
"Mate!" they exclaim simultaneously.
"Where did it go? Where is it?" Lucas asks.
"I don't know, suddenly I lost it," Manu adds.
We get out of the truck, and before I could tell them to calm down, they were already running like Husain Bolt towards the dairy store. "Pair of idiots," I exclaim.
I see Leandro's vehicle approaching in the distance on the road. I turned around to grab the keys and bags from the truck and I catch a whiff of my sister's scent. When I realize it, she's running towards us like the devil is chasing her. I can't really define her expression; her eyes were shining and I can tell at first glance that she's... excited? I stop her by grabbing her by the shoulders and look at her intently.
"Rocio, calm down, breathe. What's going on?"
"It's HIM! My mate! Brother, he's here, he's close," she says with teary eyes.
I look around and the only unfamiliar people in the area are Leandro and Loreto.
"Wait for me here, don't move," but all she wanted was to jump on him. "Listen to me, I need you to calm down."
I let her go when the truck parked a few meters away from us. I hear her whisper, "He's human."
"Damn it!" I turn towards her, look into her eyes, and say, "This will be difficult, but not impossible. I'll help you with everything you ask and whenever you need me." I can see that wonderful sparkle I had missed so much.
I turn around to greet our visitors. Leandro looks at my sister and says, "Oliver, I thought you were single, but I see you're not. Your woman is beautiful." He couldn't stop looking at Rocio.
"Hahaha, yes, I'm single. She's my sister, let me introduce her to you. Her name is Rocio."
With a big smile, my sister extends her hand to greet Leandro, who barely blinks.
"Aren't you going to introduce me, little brother?" Loreto says in an exasperated tone.
I could see my sister's expression change in an instant; I'm almost sure she didn't like her future sister-in-law.
"Well, she is my sister. Her name is Loreto," I introduce them.
"Hello, Loreto. Nice to meet you," my little one says without any gratitude. "I suppose you're here to see the dairy farm and the plantations."
"Yes, Oliver invited us to visit, and I must say this place is beautiful," says Leandro, winking at Rocio. "I hope there are some lands for sale here. I'm interested in building a cabin."
"If I can have you as a neighbor, I would love it," Leandro murmurs to Rocio without taking his eyes off her.
"Well, sorry to interrupt, but there are lands to explore," I say jokingly. Both look at me, and I can see that they are blushing. "Yes!" Rocio exclaims. "I have to go see Lucy and Lilly. I want to know if they liked their jobs and fine-tune some details with them. See you later. Will you two stay for lunch?"
"That's right," I reply before Leandro. "I invited them to stay for a few days. Silvia has prepared a cabin for them, so we can demonstrate how everything works and the work we do here."
"We'll stay for a few days, and maybe you can help me with the search for a plot of land, if your brother doesn't mind, of course," Leandro says, giving me a pleading look.
"I have no problem with that," I reply.
"Oliver!" I hear behind me. It's Lucas and Manu, and they seem to be in a bad mood, as if they didn't find what they were looking for. "Everything is ready for the tour. Shall we go?"
When I turned to say goodbye to Loreto for a moment, she approached me and asked, "Do you think we can go out for a ride so you can show me the little town? Or maybe do something more entertaining?"
"Mmm, yes, maybe. I'll look for you as soon as I'm free. See you later," I mentally scold myself for accepting her invitation. I turned around and followed the group of men who had gone ahead, getting out of there as fast as I could.
After finishing the tour, we returned to the main house. Lucas and Manuel were still restless, and you could see a glimmer of disappointment in their eyes. The two of them wanted to find their mates so badly, and I understand them. At some point, I wished for the same thing, even after the rejection ceremony and breaking the bond. My chest ached intensely, but with time, it became less frequent and lasting. I left Leandro with Rocio and Loreto in the living room and took my friends to the office.
"Are you going to tell me what happened?" I asked, concerned.
—"I know I smelled her, I know she's here, I felt her close," he lowers his head,"am I not enough? Why is she hiding?"
"I still feel like searching, and checking under every stone," Manu says.
"HEY! NO! This is how you think of yourselves, they must have a good reason to hide, but you... you're not the problem."
We feel the door suddenly open, it was my sister who had entered, and she was clearly worried, she knows us three so well.
"What's going on? Why those faces? she retorts."
"We found our partners, they say in unison, but... they're hiding, they disappeared, Manu adds."
"OH! That's great... and sad at the same time, she says with a calm expression, but I can see a certain complicity in her eyes" I suspect she knows something.
"Guys, why don't you go to the living room instead? Keep Lucy and Lilly company, they don't seem to appreciate this Loreto person, my sister suggests."
"Is that okay, baby? asks Lucas affectionately and gives her a kiss on the forehead. But later you'll tell me why you're smiling like that, okay?"
Rocio nods and after the two men leave the office, she turns to me and says:
"Can you do me a favor? Can you go to my house and fetch Aurora? I don't want to leave my little darling, the Goddess sent her to me. Pretty please, she pleads with hands clasped and a pout."
"Fine, and after dinner, you're going to tell me what you know about those two beasts' partners, I don't want to see them depressed, seeing you sad was enough to add them to the list, I end the conversation."
"Okay. I know I can trust you and you can keep the secret for a few days, I'll wait for you in the living room, don't take too long, and please be nice to her, she exclaims."
I raise my hands and say: "Oh sister, you know I can't promise you that, being annoying is natural for me," and we both laugh.
I left for Ro's house, feeling Kantz a little restless, I opened the link to find out what's going on.
Oliver: Can you tell me what's bothering you? You've been restless all afternoon.
Kantz: I don't know, but suddenly I feel like running without any direction.
Oliver: I promise that after we eat, we'll go for a run.
Oliver: Just remember you promised.
