Carlos and Alberto had arrived at the restaurant that Alberto had already reserved. Before they left, Alberto confirmed that the room service man from earlier was not from the hotel. Paulo had interrogated the man, who claimed not to know who had hired him. He was just following orders as a simple subordinate.
Paulo and two of Alberto's security guards accompanied them to the restaurant. Alberto was the type of person who did not easily trust anyone, and he did not know the security guards sent by his partners. He could only trust Paulo and the other two guards that he had brought himself.
Paulo and the other two guards were undercover, dressed in casual clothes like ordinary customers. Alberto knew they were being followed and wanted to appear as if he didn't have any security with him, to see if anyone would act.
Alberto and Carlos sat down and ordered their food. Carlos was completely unaware of what was happening, smiling and conversing calmly with Alberto, not even noticing Alberto's glances around the restaurant and at Paulo.
Carlos had seen Paulo in casual situations before and didn't find anything strange. As for the other guards, he thought Alberto had given them the day off since everything seemed fine and it was their last day there. The two of them ate peacefully without any apparent problems. Carlos informed Alberto that he was going to the restroom and got up to leave.
Carlos didn't notice that someone had spotted him when he entered the restaurant's door on his way to the restroom. Alberto and the other three remained attentive, to the point that when a woman bumped into the waiter, causing him to drop some glasses, they almost drew their guns.
They looked and realized it was nothing, just a simple accident. However, this distraction had been enough for someone to sneak into the restroom unnoticed. Carlos was washing his hands when he saw someone enter through the mirror, "Good afternoon, do you remember me?" Carlos dried his hands with a paper towel and smiled, pretending to be calm, as that was what he had been doing most of the time, pretending to be calm when his heart was already on the verge of a heart attack.
"Of course I do, you're Alberto's partner, I saw you at the airport." Carlos turned to him and spoke, knowing that he couldn't talk about Alberto with a certain level of intimacy or it would raise suspicion.
"And you're the personal doctor, right?" Diego said, getting closer to Carlos. "That's right, if you'll excuse me, Alberto is waiting for me." Carlos tried to go towards the door, but Diego blocked him by leaning his arm on the sink and getting even closer.
Carlos tried to go the other way, but Diego did the same thing with his other arm, pinning him against the sink. "what do you think you're doing? "Carlos felt irritated by Diego's harassment.
"Relax, I have one of my men at the door, no one will come in here, we can have a little fun."
"And who said I want to have fun with you? Let me go, Alberto is waiting for me." Carlos tried to push him, but Diego held his wrists tightly and raised them up against the mirror.
This movement made Diego press his body fully against Carlos'. Carlos tried to break free, but Diego was stronger. Carlos attempted to use his legs, but Diego was quicker, opening Carlos' legs with his feet, preventing Carlos from kicking him.
Carlos mentally pleaded for Alberto or Paulo to come in. He wanted it to be Paulo because he didn't know what Alberto would do in that situation, or if he would believe that Carlos didn't want this.
Diego held Carlos' wrists with just one hand and used the other to hold his waist tightly, trying to kiss Carlos. Carlos managed to turn his face away, avoiding the kiss. Diego stepped back slightly, smiling "what's the problem? You don't like men? I can assure you that you'll enjoy what I can do to you.
"The thing is, I don't like you. If you don't want trouble, you better let me go." Diego gave him a smirk. "And who are you to cause any kind of trouble for me?" Diego let go of Carlos' waist and now held his face, trying to get closer.
At that moment, Diego heard a noise from outside and then the door swung open. Diego loosened his grip on Carlos's face and looked towards the door. Alberto stood there, looking at him in a very scary way.
"As far as I know, you're here on business, doctor. You shouldn't be having fun in a restaurant bathroom," Carlos couldn't believe what he heard. Was Alberto really believing that all of this happened because he wanted it to? Diego loosened his grip, releasing Carlos.
"In that case, I'll take the blame, Alberto. I couldn't resist the charms of your doctor and wanted to enjoy his company for a little while, but he's quite feisty," Carlos rubbed his wrist and looked down as Diego spoke, and Alberto never took his eyes off him.
After finishing his sentence, Diego tried to hold Carlos's chin, but Carlos pulled away. "I'll wait for you outside," Carlos passed by Alberto without looking at him.
Outside, Carlos passed by a man lying unconscious by the door, most likely left that way by Alberto, and headed towards the tables again.
In the bathroom, Alberto now stared at Diego. "What is it? Why are you looking at me like that? You're not going to tell me you're mad because I tried to take your doctor, are you?" Alberto was restraining himself from drawing his gun and shooting him in the head right then and there, but he would cut off his hand for touching Carlos like that.
"He's my employee and he's here for work, not on vacation, and he didn't seem to be having that much fun," Diego approached Alberto, holding onto his tie as if wanting to loosen it. "So why don't the two of us do it? We can reminisce about the good old times."
Alberto grabbed his hand, removing it from his tie. "I think I made it clear that my visit was strictly professional, so it won't happen this time," Diego backed away a bit, looking Alberto up and down, and said, "Don't tell me the doctor is just another one of your casual flings? Is that why you're so stressed? We used to share -"
Now it was Alberto's turn to approach Diego. "He's not a casual fling. The fact that he fucked you a few times and I had fun at your parties doesn't mean I want to keep fucking you. The last time I was here, I made it clear that I wasn't living that life anymore, but it seems like you still don't understand. So stay away from the doctor. Even if he was just a casual fling, I wouldn't let you get your hands on him."
Alberto turned to leave and as he reached the door, he turned around and added, "Don't think you know me well just because we slept together a few times. If you provoke me, I'll send society to hell and blow your brains out. See you later."
Diego stood there, irritated by the way Alberto spoke to him. "Your doctor my ass," Diego turned to the mirror, staring at himself, trying to control his anger.
As soon as Carlos left the bathroom, he headed towards their table. Before he could reach it, a man approached him from the side, putting his arm around his neck and pressing something against his stomach. The man smiled at Carlos. "Come with me without any tricks and everything will be fine."
Carlos realized that the man was holding a gun against his stomach. He walked in the direction the man was leading him. The man entered the kitchen, passing through it towards the back. There was a door that led to an alley behind the restaurant.
The man instructed Carlos to open the door, and as he did and stepped through, he heard the sound of a gun being cocked. The man stopped, and that's when Carlos saw Paulo with a gun pointed at the man's head.
Paulo stood in front of Carlos, pulling his arm to keep him behind him. Only when he was behind Paulo did he realize that the other security guard also had a gun to the man's head. He had come from behind, and no one noticed, at least he didn't.
Paulo took the man's weapon, and the other security guard frisked him, finding another knife on his belt. The security guard restrained the man by putting a cable tie around his wrist. Paulo's phone rang, and he informed Alberto about what had happened. Alberto had probably left the bathroom and not seen them, which is why he called in concern.
Seconds later, Alberto appeared in the alley where they were, with Diego nonchalantly following him. Carlos looked in Diego's direction, who gave him a sly smile. Carlos averted his gaze towards Alberto, who was looking at Paulo.
"You know where to take him. Wait for me there," Alberto ordered his security guard and then turned to Paulo. "Take him to the hotel and get everything ready for us. We'll leave as soon as I return from the meeting." Paulo agreed, and only then did Alberto look at Carlos.
"Go with him and wait for me in the room. Don't leave until I come back," Alberto said coldly to him. Carlos didn't know if Alberto's tone was part of their act or if he was genuinely angry. If he was angry, he was being a jerk for being mad at Carlos for something he didn't even do.
After saying that, Alberto turned and left with Diego. Carlos felt anxious about what Alberto would do to that man. He wasn't used to this and didn't know if he would ever get used to knowing that people would be killed or hurt by Alberto.
"Is he going to kill that man?" Carlos asked without looking at Paulo.
"It depends. Did something happen in that bathroom?"
Carlos looked at Paulo and nodded. "Diego tried to grab me in there, and Alberto arrived just in time."
Paulo sighed, "Considering how pissed off he must be and unable to beat Diego's face in, he'll probably take it out on that guy. So, yes, he's going to die."
Carlos didn't know how to feel about that information. He just wanted to go back to the hotel, had to think about all this and whether his relationship with a mafia boss could really work.
