CHAPTER 3: A GUY NAMED LIDROS

 30 Years ago.

There was a man who destined to be a saviour of the world from Surtur the Apocalypse. 

It was a nice day and I just got accepted by Midland Royal Knight as a cadet.

Nation: ???

Skills: 

Sword Styles: Longsword, Sabre, Katana,                            Claymore, Kris, Zweihander, Konda.

Element mastered: Water, Fire, Wind, Earth

Special skill: Secret skill user

Occupation: Royal Knight (Cadet)

Yeah I don’t even have any clue where I came from. My master claimed that I came from another world but he barely has proof for that.

As a cadet, I have to show a good attitude so I won’t get fired. “I will take these commissions” to maintain my place I have to do lot of commissions whenever I got my day off. Yes! Only adventurers take commissions but it’s the only way to increase my reputation. From reputation, you’ll gained people’s trusts and you’ll be promoted.

“Three! High Ranking Commissions! Are you nut?” that Guild Master really loves to make scenes. 

“No! I am a human” 

First, I need to find 3 Dark Wolves to hunt and bring it to the guild. Let’s go to the jungle at south. 

As soon as I arrived, I see a pack of wolves and the pack was leaded by a Dark Wolf.

“Sword Style: Kris, Enhancement: Wind Kris” I need to do it quick before they can even react.

*slash*. Then, I stored it in my magic storage. “What a deuce” I saw another pack with two Dark Wolves.

First commission done without any problem. Second Commission: Destroy hoarder camp.

Then, I went to the location marked on my map.

“ It’s empty?” but the commission been requested yesterday.

“Are you the adventurer that wants to take care of our camp? Don’t worry. We already found god. O The One please forgive us and give this adventurer your bless.” the hoarders prayed and cried while walked away. Seems like they really back to the right path. 

But aren’t it should be a high ranked one. Let,s check the commission. “Ohh” they were atheist hoarder that stole holy book from Midland mosques and church. Good for them.

It’s getting late. I have to do the last one really quick.

Third Commission: Hunting a Giant Boar in Lair Village.

I went to Lair Village using my wind magic and found that boy. A Huge Boar. REALLY BIG ONE!

A NEW CADET VS GIANT BOAR

“That damn big boar. Let me test something.” I analysed that guy while it was eating its prey but I have no knowledge about animals.

“Sword Style: Claymore, GO RANDOM BULLSHIT!” I charged towards it.

*clank* “What the hack his neck made with iron or what?!” That son of a pig really as tough as steel. 

  I took a step back, I mean several step back. That pig looked at me and started to charge.

“You pig really get in my nerves. Enhancement: Fire III. Die!” 

The boar died.

But I also destroyed a local man storage house.

“Gotta run from here” I kept the boar in my magic storage and ran away. “I’ll come back next day and pretend to voluntarily repair it.

I claimed my rewards. The Guild Master still got his morning surprise face. Then, back to my house. Having dinner and sleep.

Honourable Knight? 

One day, I woke up and went to my colleagues. They look talkative today. Looks like something happen I guess.

“Lidros. There you are. Did you remember that a shaman that said that he will invade nation after nation by waking up the Within Beasts?” asked Samson

“No clue. What is the Within Beasts by the way?” 

And as I said I don’t know anything about animal so I need to ask.

Then, one of my colleagues named Desmond started to tell us a story

“Once upon a time there are 8 beasts in each 8 lands. 

Surtur -Midland

Temasik - Malac

Kitsune - Yakusoku

Artio - Sayt

Serpent - Asyarq 

Pegasus - Westime

Wolpertinger - Bereich

Inkanyamba - Eiland

As folklore said, they now fall asleep within our land waiting to berserk. Their intention is still remained unknown.”

“So what with the shaman just now, Samson?” I asked Samson.

“He already successfully summoned Temasik in Malac.” 

Suddenly Royal Knight General came and we stopped talking. Looks like he got something for us.

“I came here to tell you that we will send Royal Knight Cadets to Malac as support team.” said the general.

“Don’t you worry as a support team we will be in the last row in the battlefield. We will help them stop the creature and arrest that psycho shaman.” said our Chief.

My heroic story starts now.

As soon as we arrived at Malac, we can see that the battle already started. The battle held at Malac’s swamp. 

Then, we report our presence to their Temenggung and he lead us to our position. He briefed us with some details before he left to the battlefield.

“Our informant said that Temasik is sort of ripped human axolotl and about 2 metres height. It has an army that look like itself but shorter. They used tridents as their weapon. Temasik right now only used water element only. That’s all informations that I have right now.” and he left.

So our duty here is to guard women and children in town hall. Malac looks like a simple country. Their houses are simple and the scenery is outstanding. Human axolotl huh? I wonder how Malac people will handle them. “Breeze right here is really refreshing though.” 

“Yeah you’re right. It’s really enjoyable. I already miss my parent’s house. People said their civilisation is slow here but did they know Malac is the inventor of huge ship and even Midland need their help.

  They think Malac’s people slow because they live in simple life and they also keep their traditions alive while we keep modernize our life and forget what our ancestor left for us.” said Desmond.

Wow. I don’t realize it until know. He sure opened my mind about judging other people’s way of life.

“I admit it pal. What came out from you is the language of facts.” I’ve to admit that he is a smart guy. 

While I was zoning out, I heard something that bring me back to my head. “Come back here Ahmad!” a woman screamed.

Then I saw a kid with sword ran out from the town hall with a great speed to the battlefield.

“Let me after him, ma’am” I ride my wind to chase him but then I realised that kid enhanced his boot with lightning magic. Not bad for a kid. I keep chasing after him and now our gap is very little. 

I got him.

But..

I was so focus chased him without realise that we are in enemy territory.

“Why did you stop me!” that kid shouted and all human axolotl nearby us came to arrest us.

I got no option but to fight them. 

Stance. While I enhance my sword, I also need to count how many are they. “ Sword Style: Katana. Enhancement: Fire. One axolotl, two axolotol....10 axolotl.” they are 10 of them. 

“Alright I’m coming” I charged to them.

One down, nine more. *slash* I sliced three head in one swing. Five more. The big one try to flying kick me but I managed to dodge it and turned back to him. *splitch* right into its heart. 

Suddenly, here came their fish reinforcements, I mean axolotl. I estimated that there are 30 of them now. “This is getting interesting.” smirked me. 

Fire Art: Fire III: Jahannam

In one slash, there is nothing left but dusts.

*rumble* Ground started to shake.

And yes another axolotl just appeared from inside the ground. A big one. I don’t think this guy is Temasik because its size is double than what Laksamana said.

“You dare trespassed my place!” said that thing.

I would like to just shut my mouth up but my adrenaline drove me to say. 

“Mine now!” and yes it triggered him really bad.

“You mere human shall die by my hand. Temasik’s hand” that big guy is really Temasik and his size twice bigger than I expected it to be. 

“Don’t you dare move when I kill you” He said.

Like hell I will stay.

Then he started to charge at me. “Beast: Impale!”

He said impale but that’s not like it.

I dodged it with ease. I wonder sabre is enough to kill him. While I was thinking, that guy ignored me and tried to kill that kid. 

“Head down kid!” I unleashed my fire flare at their direction. Turns out, Temasik also crouched down.

“Run and call for help! I got him.” I shouted at that boy and he ran.

“Hey lizard man, Let’s fight!” I tried to provoke him to buy time until reinforcements come.

“You shall proud of yourself. Because you gonna die in my hand.” said Temasik. Yes! I got his attention.

“Sword Style: Sabre. Enhancement: Fire II”

“Trident Style: Three Point. Enhancement: Water II.” Temasik also enhanced his trident.

We charged at each other. 

*clank* *clank* our weapon clanked each other. 

He is strong. Not to mention his size. He has high ground. But I need to keep fighting until reinforcement come. 

“Water Art: Water III: Taring Stream” Temasik unleashed water in fang shape towards me. 

No one would do such reckless thing. The skill not supposed to be used when you opponent right in front of you.

I tried to block it with my fire sabre and *boom* the spell exploded. 

I got blown away and hit a tree. My back really hurt. *cough* *cough* I just coughed blood.

My eyes started to blur and I can see Temasik was unharmed by that explosion. Did I just fell into his plan.

“Now you know how to kneel! Don’t move I will end this real quick.” He walked towards me.

I can’t move. 

Am I going to die.

*Don’t you dare to die before me or I will kill you.* My master words just came out from my mind but I don’t see how it will help me in this kind of situation. Maybe he want to give me something before he die. I need to know why. I can’t die now. 

I felt something strange came out from me. My body felt light and warm.

Just before Temasik throw his trident at me, I already behind him.

*slice* I managed to cut his right hand on purpose. I didn’t plan to kill him quick after he made me kneeled. 

“*scream* You son of monkey” Then, he used his left hand to hold the trident.

His insult made me enraged. “I don’t even know who my dad is yet you insulted him.”

“What you gonna do. Cry?” then he laughed

“Enough with your crap. I will release my full power to wipe you out without leaving any trace.

Water Art: Water IV: Naga’s water breath.”

Temasik released his dragon water breath.

In the same time I also casted my spell.

Stance.  

...“AND GUARD YOURSELVES AGAINST THE FIRE WHICH HAS BEEN PREPARED FOR THE UNBELIEVERS”...

“Secret Skill:

...SAMUM SLASH”...

I used secret skill which means it will be my last move because it required to much energy. But my bet is worth it.

My fire slash is enough to vaporize his spell as well burned him to death.

*slash* It went to his head and he started to burn and exploded.

I saw reinforcement finally came and fell unconscious.

UNEXPECTED HERO WAS BORN

As soon as I woke up my body already been wrapped like a mummy. Maybe it bit outrages. It just a couple binds at my left hand and my ribs. My right hand looks like it burned a bit.

“Good Morning, Hero!” my commander from Midland Royal Knight greeted me in strange name. I looked left and right but there’s only me lying on the bed.

“Hero?” I got confused. After been called ‘son of monkey’, now been called as hero. 

“Don’t you remember. You killed Temasik with your own hand without any help.”

Oh! Right. I killed him using secret skill. 

“Come on, get up now you lazy ass” said commander while helping me get up.

It’s still hurt but I can hold it. 

I walked out from patient room and saw lot of people waiting for me.

Then, they cheered. I waved at them and said “Thank you for your concern.” Yes! I don’t know how to deal with compliments.
