Chapter 4: Like any other first date.... it sucked?

“Dude, Noah’s waiting outside the gate again.”, Stephen whispered.

“I know. He’s been doing that for a week now, why won’t he just quit?”,

“If you want him to, go on a date with him then reject him! Why can’t you just follow your end of the bargain?”,

“It’s not like it’s easy. What if, like for example. He gets his hopes up, then keeps bothering me?”,

“If you maybe listen to how he truly feels, instead of just avoiding him. Then you’ll probably see what he likes so much about you.”,

“Yeah, if only I can.”,

“No dude, you can. But maybe you just don’t see the need of going. See you when I will tomorrow.”, Stepehen said then left.

Huh? Am I pitying him now? SERIOUSLY NOW?!

UGHHH!

“Noah!”, I shouted.

He looked at me, I approached him, and grabbed his hand.

I gave out a deep sigh and groaned.

“Will- *Sighs* just go out with me so we can get this over with!”, I yelled and pulled him to the bus station.

“Well. I thought you’d never ask.”,

“I never did. Do you-“,

“South side of City, everyone get in.”,

“The bus is here! Let-let’s go.”, I panicked.

“Do you have something you want to say to me?”, he asked softly.

“Let’s sit down, and no I have nothing more to say to you.”,

We sat down, he wanted to go in a mall with all kinds of fast food stalls, so that’s where we headed.

“Is this all your treat?”, he cheerfully wondered.

“It is, leave me alone if you’re done. Just don’t talk to me alright?”,

“You didn’t think I’d eat this all by myself now did you? This is a date, so you and me will eat TOGETHER!”,

“NO! I don’t eat this kinds of things! My father would kill me if he finds out!”, I refused as he was shoving it in my mouth.

“Who would tell him?”,

His words gave me clarity, right! Who would tell him!

I rolled my eyes but went on with his ridiculous request. I grabbed a fry, and bit off a burger.

HOLY SHIT!

“Dude this is so good. How was I not aware of this?”,

“Your father is depriving you of happiness.”

“Ahaha, yeah you’re probably right.”,

We finished our meals, grabbed the bill, gave a tip and headed home. While on the bus, he fell asleep on my shoulder. Everyone was staring, at us. I wanted to wake him to end the embarrassment. But the lady behind me, tapped my shoulder and shook her head sideways.

“Let him sleep young man. If you’re truly his friend, you’ll let him.”,

I looked at him, he was so peaceful. I knodded and minded my own business.

I didn’t mind the people that was staring at us. He was contented with that moment and so was I.
