"Father, I was thinking, what if I stay for a few days to accompany my sister? That way, she won't feel lonely."
The prince is surprised by Odette's words. There is no doubt that she is so kind"hearted that she doesn't mind her sister's misbehavior and still wants to accompany her.
"Odette, Noelle must learn to live as a married woman."
"In any case, if someone stays, it should be me."
The baroness speaks, determined not to let Odette stay with Noelle.
"Mother, my sister needs someone her own age."
"Silence! Isn't the prince enough for you? Now you want Noelle's husband too."
"Wife! I won't allow you to say such things."
The Baron speaks to scold the Baroness.
"Baroness, Miss Odette only wants to help."
Francis defends her as well, although he doesn't understand why they have ill intentions towards Odette, who is a good girl.
"If she wants to help, then she should leave."
Odette is already sobbing because of the Baroness's words.
"I just wanted to help... I'm sorry."
"Don't apologize. It's your mother who shouldn't have said anything."
"Rather, she should stop bothering."
The Baron insists Odette not to stay. He knows very well that Noelle doesn't get along with her and doesn't want any fights or harm to come to Odette. In the end, Odette must give in and return to the capital. As she boards the carriage, she searches for Raizel with her gaze, but only the grand Duke has come to bid her farewell.
"Please, Grand Duke, take good care of my daughter, and I hope your son knows how to make her happy."
"My son is a fool, but he knows how to treat a young lady well. Don't worry, Baroness."
"I'm leaving Noelle in good hands."
The Baron states coldly, which strikes the grand Duke as odd. Parents aren't usually like this with their daughters, and he can see a certain concern in the Baroness's eyes.
"Madam, whenever you please, the doors of my castle are open to you. You can come and visit your daughter anytime."
"Thank you very much, Grand Duke. I hope to be able to come soon."
The grand Duke says goodbye once again as he needs to return to his chamber. He has been standing for too long. Minutes later, Noelle arrives at the location of the carriages. It took her a while since her legs were not cooperating.
"Mother, have a safe journey."
"Darling, it hurts me to leave you in this place, with that vile man. I heard him last night, leaving you alone and going off to have fun with other women."
"’Don't worry, mother. I'll be fine, and if it becomes difficult for you, come and visit me, okay?"
"Of course, dear."
The Baroness embraces her daughter, placing a kiss on her forehead. She boards the carriage, which is meant for her alone as she has no intention to share it with anyone. The Duke has already boarded and didn't bother to bid farewell. Odette waves her hand in goodbye as the carriage sets off, but Noelle turns her back and returns inside with a smile. Finally, she will be far away from that annoying girl. She walks slowly, still feeling weak in her legs. It's normal; she had been quite active during the night, and it was her first time for her body.
-------Several hours earlier-------
She opens her eyes and realizes that Raizel is gone. She stretches her arms upwards, feeling exhausted, and her clothes are torn to shreds. Soon, she hears a knock on the door, so she covers her body with a sheet and allows the person to enter. It's two maids who have brought a bath for her. Noelle stands up, but as she takes the first step, she feels an intense pain in her back. She swears she heard a bottle being crushed and falls to the floor, supporting herself with her hands. The maids are surprised to see her in such a state.
"Miss!"
"Wait, let us help."
"This hurts..."
As best as she can, she crawls towards the bathroom. She believes that soaking in hot water will help relax her muscles.
