Ch 4

Hitoka and the others remaining started out with some daily chores, checking if all the installed solar panels were fixed and adjusted perfectly and if zombies are anywhere near them.

After checking the already installed solar panels,they started fixing up more of them to cover the entire building. The top few floors were given priority since lighting helps them spots zombies more easily than those in lower floors.

(NOTE:, I have just approximates the supply to about 5 floors but since it’s an apartment complex and it has way too many houses, around 6 in every floor, so I approximated it as every 2 floors. They went to get more panels for their caravans and for emergencies)

After about 6 hours or so, the solar panels were fixed for 8 floors from the top.

They exchanged shifts every hour so that no one would be dehydrated or get a sun stroke.

THE WORKING CHART;

25 working on installing the solar panels (group A)

45 go out on rounds to check for zombies (in pairs - a group of 5) (group B)

The rest helped in preparing food in the first hour then went outside for shooting practice from Daichi. (Group C)

Every hour, the group A and B exchange places while group C was thoroughly trained for using guns with fake bullets. After 3 hours of work, everyone came inside the apartment for lunch. After lunch they took a break for about an hour and were staying in the common area, in the activity area, under the air conditioner.

They went back to work at about 3pm and worked their butts off until 6pm.

Hitoka and Suga were supervising the installation process while Hinata and Kagayama were taught ton how to use a bow and arrow along with the twins and the kids by Iwaizumi.

“Daichi I am telling you it’s a bad idea to teach Shittykawa how to use guns.” Iwaizumi says this for the nth time to Daichi.

Daichi just sighs. “Look Iwaizumi, Oikawa is serious and he’s not playing. We are all safe thanks to his pre notice. He is doing really well with guns and helping others to use them too. Stop worrying and overreacting.” Daichi says sternly.

“He’s teaching others?” Iwaizumi asks, shocked about the fact that Oikawa is helping someone.

“That’s mean Iwa- chan!” came a pouting voice from behind the duo.

“Oi Shittykawa, what’s up with you teaching others?” Iwaizumi confronts his boyfriend.

“Wdym? I know I am playful, but I wouldn’t play with people’s life k?” Oikawa says sternly. Iwaizumi was shocked and Daichi was looking proud for unknown reasons.

“Shittykawa.....” Iwaizum says with teary eyes moved by his best friend and boyfriend for the first time.

“Also, stop calling me Shittykawa.” Oikawa pouts. “Well, I would love it if Kagayama just gets stuck with those zombies with no one there to save him tho.” Oikawa mumbles.

“And here for a second I thought you were nice..” Iwaizumi sighs.

“Shittykawa, let’s go.” Iwaizumi says. “Stop calling me that!” Oikawa yells. “Then shitty Oikawa.” Iwaizumi says smirking a bit.

“Stop rephrasing the insults. You don’t have to do that!” Oikawa whines.

“Then Shittykawa it is, come.” Iwaizumi says.

“Should have gone to Ushiwaka!” Oikawa mumbles. Iwaizumi, seemingly hearing this, retorts. “He has a wife and 2 kids with him.”

“I want a breakup “ Oikawa shouts.

“Fine by me.” Iwaizumi says while Oikawa starts crying.

“Waah! Iwa-chan!,,,” he starts bursting into tears silently.

“I am sorry to interrupt. But I think he DID NOT take that as a joke.” Daichi whispers into Iwaizumi’s ears.

“What?” Iwaizumi shouts taken aback. “Hey stop crying, it was a joke! I won’t break up with you even if you die k?” Iwaizumi suddenly starts behaving like Hitoka when he says these out while being panicked and scared about the love of his life slipping away from him.

Oikawa looks up without even a single drop of tear in his eye and Iwaizumi gets flushed with anger and embarrassment about what Oikawa did and what he himself did to console Oikawa.

“Oikawa. You have 2 mins.” Iwaizumi says.

“Hm? I know. I already started running.” Oikawa says from a distance, still running.

“Stop you piece of shit.” Iwaizumi shouts while running after him.

After an hour of not able to catch him, Iwaizumi finally gave up and Oikawa went to Hitoka to ask permission to go around the apartment with Rin. Hitoka agreed without a second thought and Oikawa happily hopped with Rin holding his hand.

Oikawa and Rin walked around for a couple minutes before Oikawa running inside with Rin in his arms shouting “zombies” to alert everyone.

Everyone were ready to put up a fight but were surprised to hear sounds of vans coming instead of zombie howls.

“Toshi?” Hitoka mumbles. But it was not their van but some van that they were familiar with.

“Nekoma? Fukuradoni?” Hitoka mumbles. Everyone looked at her, then looked at the vans noticing it was Kenma’s and other Nekoma and Fukuradoni members’ vans.

They were all happy to see their friends as they got out one by one.

Kenma got out first and went directly to Hinata.

“Shoyo...” Kenma says while standing in front of Hinata.

“Kenma!” Hinata jumps.

“Kenma? Oi Kenma! I am lifting your luggage. Help?” Kuroo cried from behind with Kenma’s huge luggage on his back. Kenma just ignored him and continued his conversation with Hinata before Rei runs out to hug Kuroo.

“Uncle Tetsuro!” Rei cries out in excitement.

Kuroo immediately drops Kenma’s bags down and hugs the kid with his whole heart.

“How have you been? Here some chocolate for you and your sister.” Kuroo says while giving 2 boxes of chocolate to Rei.

Kenma noticing his bag on the ground, throws a glare at Kuroo and goes to check on his gadgets that were in that bag.

“Um... Kuroo san... please don’t give them too much chocolates, it’s bad for their health.” Hitoka says in a low voice.

“Hey hey hey!!!” Comes a yell of a certain double hair coloured spiky haired, quite bulky guy from behind Kuroo.

“Where’s Tsukki ?” He asks.

“Bokuto san please stop that.” A calm voice from behind straights the hooting owl out.

“But Aakashi!” Bokuto whines before noticing Hitoka.

“Ah! Yacchan!” He wails waving at Hitoka and she puts on a forced yet scared smile on her face while waving back at him.

Bokuto charges to Hitoka and lifts her up without a care in the world and starts twirling around with her in mid air.

“Bokuto san please stop that!” Aakashi says panicked.

“Aw... Aakashi. But look she looks so cute. Like a small animal.” Bokuto pouts still having her in mid air with many agreeing surprisingly, even Tsukkishima.

“I agree that Hitoka chan is cute but there must be limit. So please put her down.” Aakashi says gaining his calm composure back.

Bokuto whines as he puts her down slowly. Hitoka stumbles as she loses her balance and falls on Aakashi. Luckily he caught her before she falls on the ground.

Rin and Rei, seeing what Bokuto did to their mom hid behind the person closest to them.

Rei just buried himself into Kuroo’s jacket while Rin rushed to Suga and hid behind him.

“You scared him.” Kuroo comments at Bokuto in a disappointing tone.

“Huh? Why?” Bokuto almost bawls his eyes out on hearing this comment from his best friend Kuroo. Kuroo just turns his head away from Bokuto to face Rei who was in his arms.

After Hitoka regains her composure, she stands properly now regaining her balance along with her composure.

Aakashi, now panting, wipes his sweat off.

“Stop doing this to her! You have been doing this since like forever even tho you know that she gets scared and you kuroo san, stop encouraging him. Bokuto san, can’t you see how much you scared her kids?” Aakashi asks Bokuto.

“Ah! The kids. I got them chocolate!” Bokuto runs to Rei and gives him 2 more boxes of chocolates. “This is for you and your sister. Where’s your sister?” Bokuto asks the scared Rei.

Rei glances at his mom from the corner of his eye, only to find her fiddling with her fingers and taking breaths deep enough to calm her down. Before he can turn his eye sight away from his mom, Bokuto comes in between his view of his mom with his perky hair.

“What’s wrong Rei chan? You don’t like uncle?” Bokuto starts pouting.

“Not the emo mode.” Someone sighs from behind Bokuto but it was not Aakashi. It was the ex Fukuradoni manager, Eri.

Rei just runs to hide behind Kuroo to get away from Bokuto, resulting in Bokuto’s pouting to get worse. Kuroo makes fun about how Rei is avoiding Bokuto which instantly makes Bokuto mad. Rei takes up his chance and runs to his sister and hides behind Suga with Rin.

Hitoka goes to her kids to calm them down while the pair kept their argument going about who is better and whose chocolates tastes better.

“Rei, Rin, they are not bad people. Uncle Bokuto is uncle Hinata’s teammate while uncle Kuroo is just...... wierd..” she says resulting in Suga getting shocked.

“I didn’t know that you had such an impression of Kuroo.” Suga laughed while the relatives moved inside.

“Well... I didn’t but he made me have it. I mean he’s tall and intimidating. The only good thing I feel about him is his science jokes. I honestly hate it when he starts raising his voice. It’s like...u know...........something heavy filling my ears and trying to shred my eardrums, my confidence and the entire me into pieces....ah! Please don’t tell him this!” Hitoka says fumbling around.

Suga just laughs it off. “That explains your reaction to him.” He says and Hitoka gets flushed.

By the time this conversation gets over, another group of vans come in with the goods. Wakatoshi gets down to see what the crowd was about, only to see Aakashi almost fainting due to Bokuto’s actions.

Wakatoshi quickly splits Bokuto and Kuroo apart and starts lecturing them, to which, they surprisingly listen to properly.

“Ennoshita let’s help moving whatever they got inside and please park the vans and cars such that it encircles the building.” Dauphinois says while everyone from inside the vans and cars start unloading and the others help in moving them inside.

After an hour, the vans were all properly unloaded and the vans were encircling the cars which encircled the buildings.

(NOTE: it’s like a double barrier. The cars are the small net sort of barrier while the vans are the strengthening barriers.)

After finishing up their tasks, the ex Nekoma and Fukurodani teams start their unpacking. The food was left in the common food area and so was the water.

“So where will we sleep? I think my place is already filled out by someone no?” Bokuto asks and Wakatoshi nods.

“You can stay at my place.” Rei says silently while tugging Bokuto’s shirt. Bokuto couldn’t hide his smile, but afraid that the kid might get scared of him just pats his head.

“Yacchan! Sorry to impose!” Bokuto says while entering and Aakashi just bows to thank the family for letting them stay.

Wakatoshi was angry with Bokuto for calling her Yacchan and shoots him a glare.

“Sorry Wakatoshi.” Aakashi apologies for his partner’s negligence. Hitoka just giggles at Wakatoshi and proceeds to Bokuto.

“Um... Bokuto san, please just call me Hitoka. I have a very jealous husband here.” Hitoka says grinning sheepishly and eyeing Wakatoshi who turns eye red.

Bokuto hesitates for a second and then ruffles her hair with an okay Hitoka reply.

Hitoka smiles warmly as she invites them inside. “Let’s get along from now on.” Rin says mustering up all her courage to speak with Bokuto.

“Rin....” Hitoka covers her mouth, tearing up and proudly looks at how her daughter is doing even though she’s scared.

“Rei, you will be moving to Rin’s room.” Wakatoshi says.

“We have a guest room already right?” Rei asks while pouting at the fact that he has to go back to sleeping with his sister.

“Yes but we will be expecting one more couple to settle down there.” Wakatoshi sternly says while Hitoka elbows him in the rib. He doesn’t bulge.

“Oh. Okay.” Rei says while being disappointed.

Hitoka, moved by her son’s sad reaction tries cheering him up. “Or... you can come and sleep with us.” Hitoka says thinking it was a good idea only to receive a disgusted look from her son and a dissatisfied look from her husband.

“Rin, make some space for my stuffs.” Rei orders his sister who nods obediently.

“Huh y? You can keep your stuffs in your room itself. We will have enough space.” Bokuto says.

“I don’t want to walk in and see you both making out.” Rei says and Hitoka instantly knew what it meant but the rest were confused in the room except Rei and Hitoka. Hitoka turned red and stoned on Wakatoshi’s foot, resulting him not reacting to it.

Soon the adjustments were made and Bokuto and Aakashi settled in Rei’s room while Rei settled in Rin’s.

Everyone soon had their dinner and went to sleep.

Aakashi goes to bed wondering what Rei meant when he said that.
